    CTO - Startup

    Responsibilities
    In this pivotal role, you will:

    • Take ownership of the technical vision, strategy, and execution.
    • Lead and scale the engineering team from its current structure of three developers to support growth objectives.
    • Drive the development and rapid adaptation of APIs and infrastructure improvements critical to achieving Series A scalability.
    • Oversee the implementation of advanced engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, data encryption, multi-level monitoring, and developer access controls.
    • Act as the technical architect, ensuring the platform's backend (Kotlin on a JVM stack) and frontend (React) are optimized for performance and security.
    • Manage cloud infrastructure hosted in AWS within a Kubernetes cluster, leveraging Jenkins and Terraform for deployment and orchestration.
    • Collaborate with the product team, actively participating in UX/UI discussions and product ideation.
    • Attract, hire, and mentor top-tier technical talent, fostering a remote-first engineering culture.

    Requirements
    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Proven experience as a hands-on CTO or similar technical leadership role in a startup or scale-up.
    • Expertise in Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot, SQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, and React.
    • Demonstrated success in building scalable SaaS platforms with a focus on stability, performance, and user experience.
    • Experience navigating growth phases, particularly around Series A funding, and preparing products for market expansion.
    • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with the ability to balance strategy and execution.

    Senior Marketing Manager

    What you'll do:

    • As a Senior Marketing and Business Development Manager, your role will be pivotal in driving the firm's strategic priorities in South Africa with a focus on client strategy and brand. You will work closely with the leadership team to develop integrated marketing strategies that drive revenue growth across practices and sectors. Your robust experience in professional services marketing will enable you to craft winning pursuit strategies, identify new business opportunities, and support the on-boarding of lateral hires. Your ability to act as a change agent will be crucial in influencing the adoption of international marketing systems locally.
    • Develop and implement integrated marketing and business development strategies to drive revenue growth
    • Support partners/directors in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
    • Craft winning pursuit strategies, including leading on bid documentation to support informal and formal pitch opportunities
    • Support the onboarding of lateral hires, helping to embed their 'book of business' within the firm locally, regionally, and globally
    • Act as a change agent to influence and drive the implementation and adoption of international marketing systems and processes locally
    • Manage external relationships with South African industry bodies and intermediaries, ensuring opportunities are identified and maximised

    What you bring:

    • As the ideal candidate for the Senior Marketing and Business Development Manager position, you bring robust experience in professional services marketing. You have demonstrated your ability to manage, mentor, and develop others. Your excellent communication skills coupled with your project management abilities make you adept at dealing with demanding workloads and conflicting priorities. Your knowledge of marketing processes, CRM concepts, sales techniques, coaching skills, along with your understanding of emerging technologies will be key assets in this role.
    • Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing or Communications
    • Senior manager level professional services marketing experience or someone currently in a manager role with a minimum of 5 years professional services marketing experience
    • Experience working in South Africa or in a role with remit for South Africa is preferred
    • Demonstrated ability in managing, mentoring, and developing others
    • Knowledge of Marketing/BD processes – a sound understanding of new business processes, CRM as a concept, and the emerging technologies needed to help us win and retain clients
    • Excellent communication and project management skills

    Senior Financial Accountant

    What you bring:

    • The ideal candidate for the Senior Financial Accountant position brings a wealth of experience from the property development and construction industry. With a minimum of 4-5 years' experience post articles, you have a proven track record of working on the financial accounts of multiple companies within a group structure. Your up-to-date knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs and South African income tax and vat, combined with your ability to prepare financials in CaseWare from a trial balance, sets you apart. Your analytical mindset, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel will be key to your success in this role.
    • A BCom Honours degree in Accounting with majors in Accounting, Taxation combined with SAIPA or SAICA articles is required.
    • Minimum of 4-5 years of work experience post articles is essential.
    • Experience working on the financial accounts of multiple companies in a group structure is necessary.
    • Up-to-date theoretical and working knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs and South African income tax and vat iscrucial.
    • Ability to prepare financials in CaseWare from a trial balance is important.

    • Ability to work under pressure with excellent communication skills is vital.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
