    Control Room Manager (Security) - Epping

    • SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd requires a committed, hardworking and motivated individual to join their Security team as a Control Room Manager.
    • The successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision of Security employees as well as providing security services to the Group.
    • The successful candidate will report to the Security Manager.

    Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below)

    • Manage the control room operators to ensure effective-monitoring security cameras and alarms.
    • Ensure the safety of the SA Metal fleet and response activation.
    • Assist security managers with incident investigations, tracking and detailed reporting.
    • Conduct internal investigations into theft, fraud, misconduct, accidents, safety breaches, and other security-related incidents.
    • Gather, analyze, and preserve evidence in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.

    Security Officer - Saltriver

    Job description

    • SA Metal Group requires committed, hardworking and motivated individual to join their Security team as a Security Officer. The successful incumbent will be responsible but not limited to securing the premises and personnel by staying on patrol and doing inspections on all vehicles, guarding points and all necessary verifications.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • The Security Officer’s primary purpose is to protect the personnel and all assets of the business. To prevent loss and damage by reporting any violations with regards to policies and procedures. The following tasks will include, but are not limited to:

    Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below)

    • Ensure access and egress is controlled at all SA Metal property by completing the necessary registers and operating the gates
    • Searching pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of any person/s exiting SA Metal premises
    • Ensure that all customers and visitors are issued with PPE and that the PPE is returned after their visit
    • Ensure that any item/s leaving the SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation

    Production Manager (Rolling Mill)

    • The Rolling Mill Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire rolling process, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. This role bridges the gap between strategic planning and shop-floor execution.

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

    • Provide overall leadership and management of the Rolling Mill operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and operational objectives are achieved in line with business requirements.
    • Direct and manage Rolling Mill teams, including Line Managers and production personnel, through effective supervision, performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
    • Plan, implement, and oversee production schedules while ensuring optimal utilisation of plant, equipment, and human resources to maximise operational efficiency and minimise downtime.
    • Manage operational performance by monitoring key production metrics and KPIs, analysing downtime and breakdowns, and implementing corrective actions to improve productivity and reliability.
    • Oversee workforce management, including staff rosters, absenteeism, disciplinary processes, and the development of a high-performing production team.
    • Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Rolling Mill through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve operational processes.
    • Ensure effective coordination with engineering and maintenance teams to plan preventative maintenance and maintain operational continuity.
    • Maintain accountability for compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, ensuring strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and company policies.
    • Provide strategic operational reporting to senior management, including immediate escalation of breakdowns, product failures, safety incidents, or risks that may impact production targets or operational performance.
    • Ensure strong operational governance through accurate reporting, adherence to company policies, and the consistent enforcement of standards across the Rolling Mill operations.

    Fitters Manager

    Job description:

    • The Fitters department currently has a vacancy for a detail orientated, process-driven, dedicated individual to join their team. This position requires someone who is able to work in a fast paced, demanding and pressurized environment.
    • The Fitters Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Fitters team to ensure all mechanical equipment, machinery, and the plant operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. This role oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Implement and manage the routine, planned and preventative maintenance programs for all machinery and equipment
    • Monitor the quality and efficiency of teams’ work and report any issues or possible improvements to Engineering Manager and/or Directors

    • Manage attendance and timekeeping by executing all administrative processes required i.e. time sheets of employees, leave, completing of daily attendance registers
    • Manage the distribution of overtime between the team
    • Liaise with HR in terms of any concerns, issues or disciplinary management of staff
    • Manage and implement KPIs set out by the engineering team, and tracked by the CMMS

    Qualifying Criteria

    Regional Security Manager

    • We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Security team as the Regional Security Manager based in Gauteng. The successful applicant will be responsible for the Management of Gauteng Security Department as well as providing security services to the Group.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Asset Protection & Risk Management - Prevent and/or halt theft and fraud, oversee asset protection and ensure that risks are ascertained by implementing proper and regular auditing processes and comprehensive risk management strategies.
    • Security Operations Management – Implement, optimize and ensure compliance of the Gauteng and Mpumalanga Security Department with security protocols. Effectively manage the Gauteng and Mpumalanga Security Department as well as the security contracting companies.

    QUALIFYING CRITERIA

    Job description

    • The Copperworks department requires a committed, hardworking and trustworthy individual to join the team as an Operator. The successful candidate will report directly to the Production Manager and Quality Manager. The Operators’ primary purpose is to provide support to the Copperworks area as dictated by operational requirements.

    Senior Operator - Meltshop (Mobile Machinery)

    • SA Steelworks has a Senior Operator position available. The successful candidate will provide support to SA Steelworks Meltshop Department by operating various mobile machinery. Applicants will be required to complete a skills test, only candidates with an average of 70% can successfully apply for the vacancy. (SHIFT POSITION)

    Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    • Must be able to do basic mathematical calculations to ensure correct process parameters

    Projects Manager- JHB

    Job description:

    • SA Metal sends out teams to remote locations to conduct specialized site clean-ups, and to remove and dismantle old buildings, steel structures, equipment and vehicles.

    The successful incumbent will be responsible for the below:

    • The daily planning and managing of two to three of these teams.
    • Each team has a supervisor, overseeing the daily tasks on site. This supervisor will report to the Project Manager.
    • Site inspections are to be done daily, unless the site is far away, in which case the incumbent will be required to stay for longer periods. These periods will be determined by management.
    • The Project Manager will assist the health and safety department with risk assessments and methodologies of scope of work.
    • They will be in charge of ordering and booking out of consumables, and the daily management thereof.
    • They will liaise with clients on the progress of each site, and will submit progress reports to management.
    • They must accurately maintain administrative records.
    • They will be sent to conduct assessments for potential work to be done, and will submit costings to management for review.

    Qualifying experience

    • Willing and able to travel extensively to project sites across South Africa, including extended periods away from home
    • In possession of reliable personal transport
    • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field)
    • Proven managerial experience leading teams and managing project resources
