    RTV Workshop Artisan - S2

    The Role

    • Provides technical support in mechanical maintenance. Maintains and improves machines and equipment to increase or maintain a high level of reliability, availability, cost efficiency and performance.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Mechanical maintenance operations.
    • Preventive maintenance, perform corrective actions, supports planning and preparation, monitors outcome, documentation (outcome, root cause, time, improvements).
    • Work in accordance with standard operating procedures.
    • Achievement of maintenance targets.
    • Follow quality and cleanliness standards.
    • Communication of operational status and any deviations.
    • Safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements.
    • Continuous improvements and development on a personal and operational level.

    Profile Required

    • Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification / Equivalent Qualification
    • Section 13 Trade Certificate Millwright
    • Flame Proof and Gas Testing Certificate
    • Basic Computer literacy
    • English proficiency

    Service Technician - S3


    The Role

    • Provides technical support in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance. Maintains and improves machines and equipment to increase or maintain a high level of reliability, availability, cost efficiency and performance and customer relations and team work.

    Technical Trainer - P2

    The Role

    • To deliver Technical training programs in English to internal and external customers.
    • Deliver standardized training courses on equipment (Operation, Maintenance, Service, Service inspection, installation & commissioning and faultfinding).
    • Deliver and secure product safety training in relation to Operation, Maintenance, Service, Service inspection, installation & commissioning & faultfinding for own area.
    • Provides support for services such as service inspection and maintenance planning.
    • Provides support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting of core equipment.

    Key performance areas  

    Developed learning material & programme

    • Develop learning material on new Sandvik machinery.
    • Develop learning material on identified training courses based on unit standards.
    • Create Formative and Summative assessments on relevant training events.
    • Develop e-learning modules.
    • Review, update and edit learning material.

    Transferred learning 

    • Review lesson plan and update as needed
    • Prepare self, learning environment and learners as per lesson plan
    • Prepare learning aids and verify training material.
    • Identify obstacles to learning and take appropriate action
    • Deliver background & introductory material
    • Conduct formative assessment and establish actual learning needs/gaps
    • Facilitate/instruct learning material
    • Assess knowledge/skill as per pre-set criteria & provide feedback to learners
    • Assess learner capability in action when practical sessions are required.

    Legal compliance 

    • Perform performance & critical incident analysis.
    • Identify any and all SHEQ obstacles and take appropriate action.
    • Identity any and all hazards and take corrective action.
    • Keep record keeping of all assessments, lesson plans & control documents.
    • Follow lesson plan.
    • Report any and all Incidents and accidents as per reporting structure.
    • Wear PPE as per requirements and ensure learners comply to required PPE.
    • Complete & submit training reports as per schedule.

    Customer satisfaction (internal & external) 

    • Update and communicate training schedule (external & internal)
    • Conduct needs analysis (including performance and critical incidents)
    • Review job analysis with focus on required knowledge & skills
    • Complete & submit training reports as expected or laid out
    • Request for feedback during & after training (external)

    Your profile

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent Qualification
    • Millwright by trade or equivalent.
    • Certificate of Competence in ETDP or related qualification as Adult Education Facilitator will be an advantage.
    • Certificate of Competence in ETDP or related qualification as Adult Education Assessor will be an advantage.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience & proven competence as technical/Specialist on Sandvik products.
    • Basic computer literacy
    • English language proficiency
    • Code 08 Licence and own transport
    • Be able to work flexible hours & travel extensively
    • Fit to work underground.
    • Read, understand and able to explain Electrical and Hydraulic schematics.
    • Understand Sandvik Control systems
    • Service/repair of any Electrohydraulic systems
    • Experience on Sandvik Trucks and loaders
    • Experience on Sandvik Drills and Bolters

    • Will be required to work away from home during the project phase 
    • Will be required to work in a 1.5m seam height 
    • Need to be medically fit to work in a 1.5m seam height 
    • Will be required to work on a 15deg plus dip angle
    • Must be able to drive and have a valid driver's license.
