    Civil Foreman

    Responsibilities:

    Maintenance Planning and Execution

    • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of civil maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
    • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for civil structures to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
    • Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment, reduce breakdowns, and minimise repair costs.

    Quality Assurance and Control

    • Conduct regular inspections of civil infrastructure to identify maintenance needs and prioritise repairs.
    • Diagnose mechanical problems, develop solutions, and oversee repairs to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
    • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and maintenance logs.

    Budget Management and Cost Control

    • Accurately forecast maintenance costs based on historical data, upcoming projects, and potential emergencies.
    • Allocate budget resources effectively to cover regular maintenance, repairs, and unexpected expenses.
    • Estimate costs for maintenance activities, including labor, materials, equipment, and outsourced services.
    • Perform cost-benefit analyses to justify expenditures and identify the most cost-effective solutions for maintenance issues.
    • Regularly monitor and track maintenance expenses against the budget, identifying variances and taking corrective actions as necessary.

    Team Leadership and Supervision

    • Analyse regular staff establishment reports, identify risks and ensure that corrective measures/relevant management actions are implemented.
    • Fill vacant posts in line with Senwes policies and procedures.
    • Take action where necessary to materialise EE objectives.
    • Arrange for induction of all new personnel to familiarise them with Senwes and the section’s activities.

    Performance Management

    • Contract performance before D-date:
    • Set clear performance standards.
    • Communicate expected outcomes.
    • Observe and monitor performance and evaluate performance quarterly.
    • Give constructive feedback and provide guidance to personnel.

    Requirements

    • N6 in Civil Engineering. Candidates with a relevant management certificate will receive preference.
    • 3+ years of experience in civil construction, experience in supervisory roles will receive preference

    HSE Manager

    Responsibilities:

    SHEQ & Statutory Documentation

    • Review policies and procedures in line with legislation, regulations, and applicable standards.
    • Approve policies and procedures in line with legislation, regulations, and applicable standards.
    • Engage with stakeholders and ensure policies and procedure are approved as required.
    • Develop review plan to ensure documentation are reviewed as required by legislation, regulation, and relevant standards.

    Audited Environment

    • Analysis of inspections, audits, compliance, injury, and incident data.
    • Review and approve all reports.
    • Update of SHEQ Risk Universe, in accordance with relevant methodology.
    • Analise and rate the relevant risks in accordance with relevant approved methodology.
    • Develop an audit plan in accordance with SHEQ Risk Universe.
    • Communicate and discuss the outcome of the finalised audit/ inspections report to department Heads.
    • Develop action plans.

    Legal Compliance and Monitoring

    • Review and Approve compliance audit reports and development and monitoring of action plans.
    • Review and Approve compliance assessments.
    • Review and Approve compliance questionnaires.
    • Communicate compliance results and compliance issues to relevant head of departments

    SHEQ Strategies

    • Develop SHEQ Strategies in accordance with company strategic values and strategic pillars.
    • Consult with relevant HOD to ensure the implementation of these strategies is effective.
    • Implement approved strategies
    • Monitor strategies to ensure the relevant outcome is reached and report on progress periodically.
    • Develop action plans to improve strategy efficiency.
    • Report deviations to relevant HOD’s.

    Manage and develop staff

    • Management of personeel in accordance with Senwes Standards.
    • Regularly consult personnel about desired outcomes in terms of goals and objectives.
    • Manage and Monitor performance and provide regular feedback.
    • Identify potential for accelerated development.
    • Develop and manage succession plan/ personal development plan of employees.
    • Support candidates during development process and ensure PDPs are adhered to.

    Administrative Duties

    • Compile of monthly exco reports that includes:
    • Chair the health and safety committee.
    • Approve the minutes of the health and safety committee. 
    • Manage employees’ timesheets and monitor effectiveness.

    Manage section finance

    • Compile budget in accordance with guidelines.
    • Monitor expenditure.
    • Report on variances.
    • Report on corrective measures.

    Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate with a N.Dip in Safety Management and/or NEBOSH qualification.
    • ISO 9001 and 45001 completed training is also essential.
    • SHEQ management qualification would be beneficial
    • At least 3 years concurrent experience in a SHEQ environment and working with ISO Management Systems (candidates who have experience in an agricultural environment will receive preference).

    • Knowledge of product specifics, supplier policies, and relevant legislation.
    • Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to negotiate, manage time effectively, and handle conflict.
    • Familiarity with the agricultural industry or equipment is a plus.
