    Senior Director, Business Planning & Operations SSA

    Principle Responsibilities / Key Results Area

    • The Snr Director-Business Planning and Operations will lead collaboration across the SSA region by providing support in financial planning, pricing, decision-making, competitive tracking, managing strategic business initiatives, client support programs, management reporting, insights and related areas.  

    Primary responsibilities of this position are:

    • Lead with the Finance team the annual business planning cycle, manage cross-functional discussions, review all proposals, and ensure optimal investment of resources in order to finalize the operating plan for SSA
    • Identify, structure, and manage complex issues to arrive at recommendations that drive corporate objectives.
    • Drive solving of a range of business problems by collaborating and coordinating with multiple internal stakeholders.
    • Oversee major project work streams related to Visa business and strategic priorities in SSA
    • Collaborate with business line management across SSA
    • Provide leadership to the BPO team and ensure the delivery of functional objectives

    Required Experience:

    • Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred, preferably in the SSA region

    Executive Administrator

    Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Area

    Executive Assistant:

    • To answer incoming telephone calls for the GCM assisting with caller enquiries where possible.  
    • To take clear and concise messages and pass on to the relevant parties in a timely manner.  
    • To ensure adequate telephone cover during absence of the GCM.
    • To assemble and provide administrative support to the GCM office.
    • Organization of the daily schedule for the GCM to ensure the most effective use time.  
    • Ensure all internal and external meeting requirements are met.
    • Sort, prioritize and where possible delegate and distribute GCM incoming mail in a timely manner, ensuring that urgent matters are dealt with in his/her absence.  
    • To redirect misdirected mail.
    • Book and co-ordinate local, regional, and international travel arrangements within tight deadlines for the GCM.
    •  Compile itineraries and liaise with regional offices to ensure business trips run smoothly. 
    • Prepare correspondence, documents, and presentation materials. Drafting of correspondence if necessary, and ensuring response is sent in a timely manner.
    • If required, translate letters or any other documents received by GCM Manager from clients or other stakeholders.
    • Provide documents and files to the GCM in preparation for meetings.
    • To ensure the smooth circulation of all internal communications.
    • To provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the GCM through the typing of letters, memos, reports, and presentations which always require a professional product.
    • Handling of expense claims for GCM potentially other key members of staff

    Set up and ensure regular Direct Report meetings:

    • Liaison with Leadership and International staff daily and extensive liaison with other departments within Visa
    • Aid the GCM with private and confidential, and personal arrangements, if required
    • Input client contact data and maintain accuracy thereof

    Liaising and Coordinating:

    • Co-ordinate with other VISA departments to successfully implement various activities across the business
    • Co-ordinate and organize various meetings and offsites
    • Coordinate, organize and maintain the budget for the meetings
    • Work closely with all business functions internally and co-ordinate appropriate meetings with clients and information management
    • Raise purchase requisitions and purchase orders and ensure swift payment of invoices

    Corporate Hospitality:

    • Organize and execute events related to corporate hospitality in the relevant markets.
    • Manage, forecast, and update event planner reports.
    • Budgeting, costing and coordination with internal event management department.

    Ad hoc project/research:

    • Complete ad hoc project/research and presentation work and other relevant initiatives as requested by the management
    • Prepare and follow up on internal similar programs

    • Ensure all SSA departments are fully informed of actions that may affect them, support their objectives and business plans, and seek to resolve conflicts which might occur.

    VP, Head of Client Services, SSA

    Job Description And Responsibilities:

    • The VP, Head of CS SSA is accountable for the Client service experience for all Sub-Saharan and African clients and is a member of the SSA Business Leadership Team and the CEMEA Client Services Leadership team.
    • The role also dual reports to the SSA Group Country Manager and the CEMEA CS SVP. The role covers 49 countries which is the largest territory and the biggest number of clients to cover within CS.
    • This leader is responsible for a team of 20+ people and is responsible for service delivery of new products, onboarding new clients, implementations, operational support, issue resolution and client success.
    • In addition to setting the Services strategy for the SSA region, this leader ensures the team partners with key internal stakeholders in other sub-regions, sales, product, technology, finance, risk and legal to deliver outcomes for all clients.
    • This leader is the Visa authority for our clients’ operational business within Visa and with our clients. The VP, Head CS SSA Lead is responsible for building effective partnerships with Country Managers to support the country growth strategies.
    • They must build and develop a cohesive high performing team, set strategic direction, and apply working knowledge of Visa and Visa products, systems and procedures to improve the client experience.
    • Similarly to their peers in other regions (VP LAC SOCO CSM Lead, VP Brazil CSM Lead, VP India CSM Lead, VP China CSM Lead), the role is highly complex when it relates to managing stakeholders, influencing without authority and managing client relationship in often challenging environments.

    Analyst Data Science

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Serve as an analytics expert in designing, developing, and implementing best in class analytic solutions.
    • Create and deliver powerful insights from data through better visualization and storyboarding.
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to fully understand business requirements and desired business outcomes.
    • Demonstrate execution proficiency in handing multiple medium-to-large analytics projects in a team environment that includes the rest of the Data Science team.
    • Draft detailed scope for assigned projects, addressing suggested methodology and analytics plan.

    • Post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD would be an advantage) in a Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent.

    Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-4 years of analytics expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problems
    • Experience working in one or more of the Card Payments markets around the globe would be a distinct advantage.
    • Good understanding of the Payments and Banking Industry including aspects such as consumer credit, consumer debit, prepaid, small business, commercial, co-branded and merchant payment solutions.
    • Good knowledge of data, market intelligence, business intelligence, and AI-driven tools and technologies.
    • Experience planning, organizing, and managing multiple large projects with diverse cross-functional teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to incorporate new techniques to solve business problems.
    • Demonstrated resource planning and delivery skills.

    Technical Expertise:

    • Expertise in distributed computing environments / big data platforms (Hadoop, Elasticsearch, etc.) as well as common database systems and value stores (SQL, Hive, HBase, etc.)
    • Ability to write scratch MapReduce jobs and fluency with Spark frameworks
    • Familiarity with both common computing environments (e.g. Linux, Shell Scripting) and commonly-used IDE’s (Jupyter Notebooks); proficiency in SAS technologies and techniques
    • Strong programming ability in different programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, Java, Matlab, C++, and SQL
    • Familiarity with solution architecture frameworks that rely on API’s and microservices

    • Expert knowledge of advanced data mining and statistical modeling techniques, including Predictive modeling (e.g., binomial and multinomial regression, ANOVA); Classification techniques (e.g., Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, factor analysis); Decision Tree techniques (e.g., CART, CHAID)

    • Very strong project management skills and experience
    • Ability to travel within the SSA and CEMEA Region.

    Business Experience:
