    Scientific Affairs Manager

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Plans, budgets, executes and monitors the core Scientific Affairs responsibilities/ activities at local level in the framework of Divisional and Global SA strategies
    • Develops and supervises scientific projects and shares them as best practices, e.g. in divisional/global meetings
    • Develops oral care education/knowledge sharing master programs to dental professionals, pharmacists, other influencers and patients
    • Builds and leverages relationships and impactful networking projects with experts, dental & DH schools as well as scientific/ professional/ students’ associations and translates them into bundles and implementation, to secure support and advocacy for Colgate’s technologies and brands (congress symposia, roadshows, lectures, scientific information)
    • Develops scientific communication and PR initiatives from scientific events for local roll-out
    • Suggests, designs and runs clinical and networking studies in close alignment with Clinical Science manager
    • Represents the company at scientific congresses, and ensures Colgate has required presence at congresses
    • Gives lectures on scientific topics at congresses, scientific meetings, symposia, academic institutions as needed
    • Stays on top of scientific literature regarding relevant products/indications
    • Secures scientific correctness of master communication materials and promotion programs across all touch points towards profession, pharmacists, consumers
    • Develops and delivers trainings to secure internal knowledge on relevant indications, technologies and brands across all relevant functions (OCCs, Drug Sales Force, new employees, agencies) delivered personally and/or digitally
    • Monitors competitors’ activity in the academic environment and communicates publicly available relevant competitive information within the company

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in natural sciences, pharmacy, (dental) medicine
    • Proficient in English language
    • At least 2 year experience in operational Scientific Affairs type position, Oral care, in pharmaceutical or cosmetic industry or medical/pharmaceutical/health care agencies (Creative, CRO, PR)
    • Prof PR experience (interaction with journalists, publishing houses, agencies) a plus
    • Experience in practicing Dentistry (preferable) or in Academia
    • Experience in People Management
    • Trainer experience and/or field work experience a plus
    • Experience in Professional Marketing and/or Professional Sales a plus
    • Experience in digital professional approaches a plus (familiarity with digital prof communication, e.g. corporate website, social media, webinars, e-learnings)
    • Should be a South African citizen

    Professional Oral Care Coordinator

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Define action plans aligned with the brand and category strategies for all professional oral care programs
    • Develops professional marketing plans based on insights and local opportunities
    • Implement and follow up the plans to achieve the objectives of professional recommendation, consumption building and penetration in professional and pharmacy channels
    • Plan, execute and monitor budget expenditures aligned with strategic plans
    • Coordinate the operative and analytics processes of assigned territories identifying opportunities of productivity and efficiency.
    • In partnership with the Scientific Affairs Manager, builds trusting long term partnerships and networking with experts, academia, associations, public health, government entities and community health administrators (and pharmacy when appropriate).
    • Lead, develop and supervise Direct reports (Team supervision).
    • Work closely with the local Brand Marketing team/Regional team to align plans and add value with professional insights and opportunities.
    • Proactively identify and execute on field support needs
    • Implement Colgate communication techniques to ensure the efficacy of every visit and maximize results in gaining recommendation
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Complies with all policies and standards

    Required Qualifications

    • A Bachelors Degree
    • Minimum 5 years of experience leading market
    • Proficiency on MS Suite and Google Tools
    • Proficient in English language
    • Experience in analyzing data and business presentation skills

    Customer Development Manager

    Scope of Responsibility:

    • The Customer Development Manager is responsible for achievement of Sales targets through excellence in execution at the point of sale. 
    • Develop and support the partnership between CP and the customer(s)/Distributors at the store and regional level by nurturing contacts and negotiating with Store Operations/in-store personnel. 
    • Provide feedback on the in-store environment which allows rapid revision of competitive tactics. The Customer Development Manager plays an integral role in ensuring profitable growth. 

    Key responsibilities :

    Business Development and Monitoring :

    • Building and managing relationships with key players in the customer(s) or channel at the regional and/or store level.
    • Conducting negotiations as vital (listings, planograms, displays, promotion execution etc) at regional office and/or store level. 
    • Needs to conduct regional/national business meetings and take control of pricing and the P&L.
    • Implementing and maintaining in-store tactics developed within Category Management partnerships with the Customer(s)
    • Co-ordinating special events (store-level sell-in and communication, materials management in-store etc.) in co-operation with the Shopper Development Manager.
    • Working with customer service to track orders, troubleshoot and achieve customer service KPI’s.
    • Working with Logistics to plan, analyse and forecast customers needs and to ensure timely and complete delivery.
    • Monitoring sales and distribution performance, particularly for new products and taking timely action to drive continuous improvement.
    • Monitoring competitive activity at store level, recording and consolidating key activities, supervising speed and breadth of distribution and identifying competitive best practices and discussing with the BDM so that they can proactively respond with strategic/tactical refinements.
    • Establishment of account co-op activity and annual promotional grids
    • Regular promotional analysis to determine whether these activities are delivering positive ROI's. 

     In - Store Personnel Management :

    • Regularly visiting stores in order to identify areas of improvement
    • Monitoring performance vs. objectives, providing continuous coaching and feedback and conducting appraisals based on data.
    • Reviewing Field Sales and Merchandiser itineraries’ (location, frequency, duration vs plan) and roles to ensure efficient deployment of limited resource.
    • Giving direction to in-store staff (merchandisers) and ensuring that they are trained and updated on new products, promotions and merchandising objectives. 
    • Identifying training needs and developing training plans with the Team Leader.
    • Working with the SDM to develop tools, merchandising materials and in-store programmes for effective shelf management to induce shoppers to purchase Colgate products at shelf.
    • Supervising the consistent and accurate collection of data to allow monitoring of 5P performance vs target. In – Store Compliance
    • Clearly communicating in-store objectives and supervising execution of 5P targets, product availability, assortment by store format, shelf pricing (regular and promoted) promotion implementation vs plan, share of shelf and planograms, POP placement vs plan.
    • Resolving operational issues at head/regional offices or in-store 

    Required Qualifications : 

    • A Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in FMCG Customer Account Management
