    Job Description

    • TechMarkit is looking for a proactive, customer-focused Customer Services Consultant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, engaging with customers, and working across multiple systems in a fast-paced retail and technology environment.

    Human Resource Administrator

    About the role

    • We are looking for an organised, accurate and service-driven Human Resource Administrator to support the day-to-day HR administration requirements of the business.
    • This role is responsible for ensuring that employee documentation, contracts, payroll inputs, benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding processes are completed accurately and within the required timelines. You will also act as a first point of contact for general HR administration queries and support the HR team with labour relations, compliance and reporting requirements.

    What you’ll be responsible for

    HR administration and employee support

    • Act as the first point of contact for general HR administration queries.
    • Provide employees and managers with accurate information and responsive support.
    • Prepare and issue employment contracts, promotion letters, increase letters, incentive letters and other employee documentation.
    • Maintain complete and accurate employee files and HR records.
    • Ensure all employee documentation is properly authorised, signed and filed.

    Onboarding and offboarding

    • Coordinate the administration of new starters and ensure onboarding packs are ready before their first day.
    • Ensure all starter documentation and approvals are received and processed.
    • Support the enrolment of employees onto compulsory company benefits.
    • Coordinate employee exits, including termination documentation, service certificates, UIF documents and system access termination.
    • Submit offboarding requests and ensure access is removed within the required timelines.

    Payroll administration

    • Prepare and submit accurate monthly payroll inputs before the relevant payroll cut-off dates.
    • Process information relating to new starters, terminations, employee changes, casual hours, allowances and attendance.
    • Reconcile attendance registers and resolve discrepancies.
    • Verify fixed-term contract renewals and employee allowances.
    • Assist with the accurate processing of training bonds, notice pay and other approved deductions.
    • Respond to payroll queries and work closely with the Payroll team to resolve any discrepancies.

    Employee benefits

    • Assist employees with medical aid, provident fund and other benefits-related queries.
    • Enrol new employees onto compulsory benefits.
    • Process Workers’ Compensation documentation within statutory timelines.
    • Prepare and distribute UIF documentation and certificates of service.
    • Process approved employee benefit and expense claims.
    • Keep up to date with company benefits and communicate relevant changes to employees.

    Training and reporting

    • Maintain accurate induction and new-starter training records.
    • Ensure new employees are scheduled for induction within the required timeframe.
    • Monitor the completion of assigned LMS training.
    • Prepare monthly induction and HR administration reports.
    • Maintain relevant HR trackers and provide regular updates to the Senior HR Officer.

    Labour relations and compliance

    • Assist with the administration of disciplinary, grievance and CCMA matters.
    • Prepare case files and supporting documentation for hearings.
    • Maintain an updated tracker of active employee relations matters.
    • Support the submission of documentation within statutory deadlines.
    • Assist with HR compliance reviews and OHASA documentation.
    • Distribute updated policies and ensure signed acknowledgements are received and filed.
    • Support internal and external HR audits.

    What we’re looking for

    • Matric is essential.
    • A relevant HR qualification would be advantageous.
    • 2 to 3 years’ experience in an HR administration or HR support role.
    • Working knowledge of basic South African labour legislation and HR practices.
    • Experience with contracts, payroll inputs, employee records, benefits and onboarding administration.
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
    • Experience working with an HR information or payroll system would be advantageous.

    Primary Purpose of the Role

    • The HR Administrator is responsible for delivering a comprehensive HR administration service across the business.
