    Data Engineer

    Purpose of the role

    • Provide Business Insight to support the FNZ TA SA business. This is done by:
    • Using approved, state-of-the-art technologyto build dashboards and data mode
    • Collaborating with our clients’ data professionals to improve current products to increase usage.
    • Collaborating with wider audience to improve and develop our combined Data Management strategies.
    • Contributing to the development, documentation, and adoption of DS1 solutions for non-technical and technical audiences.

    • OLTP and OLAP concepts
    • Data integration concepts (ETL / ELT)
    • MS Data Platform.
    • Azure Data Platform is advantageous.

    Educational Requirements (Educational /academic qualifications

    • Matric essential.
    • Technical degree or diploma (in related industry) advantageous.
    • Formal business/technical analysis training advantageous.
    • Relevant data certifications advantageous.

    Finance Team Leader

    Key Performance Areas

    • Overall responsibility of the Operational Finance for a group of Asset Management Clients
    • Managing a team of 5 to 10 administrators.
    • Ensure the team is adequately staffed and individuals can meet their assigned accountabilities
    • Implementation and communication of strategy to your team. Align with overall Business Head’s strategy. Actively participate in appropriate senior management forums/discussions
    • Ensure that the accounting and reconciliation function is managed effectively and efficiently; Monitor the monthly recoveries to/from Clients; Ensure reporting and delivery SLAs to clients are always met; Assist with the management of exceptions in the finance area daily; Ensure regular and timeous reporting on KPIs and bank and unit recon stats, and Review and management of month-end processes
    • Ensure that all the appropriate internal controls are functioning effectively at all times and implement new controls to improve efficiencies; engage with other business units to address areas of concern
    • Focus on client money rules; oversight of client’s cash balance and automation
    • Assist team in terms of problem resolution and troubleshooting
    • Ensure efficiency of audits, both internal and client
    • Understand and review all possible risk in your area on a regular basis
    • Liaison with clients and have regular relationship meetings
    • Ownership and management of projects impacting the team
    • Preparation of monthly management reports
    • Manage your team in terms of performance appraisals, training; poor performance management; empower and mentor your team; involved in selection/recruitment/orientation; deal with incidents and disciplinary issues; managing leave schedules; effective succession planning.
    • Drive and live the FNZ cultures

    Prior Work Experience / Background:

    • A minimum of 5 years management/leadership experience.
    • 5 – 10 years experience within the financial services industry, specifically within an operational finance / back-office function.
    • Understand the process flow and interaction between Finance and admin
    • Bank and Unit reconciliation experience essential, understanding of finance processes and procedures

    Technical / Special Requirements

    • MS Office and excel proficiency
    • Knowledge of accounting packages
    • Knowledge of UT, asset management and retirement industry
    • Strong Reconciliation skills and accounting knowledge
