    Logistics Specialist: Operations

    Job Description

    The Logistics Specialist will be responsible and will manage the logistics process during shipping (exporting/importing) of products related to FerroAlloys to ensure processes are in line with the associated policies, procedures and standard.

    PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage the development and performance of the departments’ logistics operations during shipping (exporting/importing) of products related to ferroalloys to produce an efficient process, maximizing safety performance, value and the profitability against pre-agreed targets as well as ensuring processes are in line with the associated policies, procedures, and standards. 
    • Perform routine inspections and audits of independent assaying/logistics companies (warehouses/ports).
    • Perform routine inspections and audits of Ferroalloys operations and record corrective procedures to resolve non-compliance.
    • Evaluate independent assaying/logistics companies and make suggestions to minimize errors and improve operations associated with the quality and handling of products.
    • Develop new initiatives and look for new ways to optimize logistics operations, efficiencies, and service offerings.
    • Collaborating with internal departments to optimize operational services.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders internally and externally.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • NQF level 7 qualification in Logistics Management or Chemistry (Analytical).

    WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience within a management position.
    • Background in mining or bulk mineral commodities will be advantageous.
    • Sound knowledge and thorough understanding of quality assurance standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025.
    • Excellent contract negotiation and management skills.
    • Advanced computer skills to create spreadsheets, scenarios, and build presentations.
    • Ability to work independently and create structure in an unclear working environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Strong knowledge in the commodity environment will be highly regarded.
    • Advanced Communication skills.
    • Medically fit.

    IT Superintendent - Networks (Witbank)

    Job Description

    The incumbent in this role is responsible for supporting the Regional IT Manager with VOIP, Video Conference and Network Support.

     Key Responsibilities

    • Managing projects and operations by ensuring that SLA’s are achieved and client expectations are met.
    • Providing prompt professional support to users, in line with targets and time lines, using the concept of best practices.
    • Ensuring IT compliance with global Glencore standards.
    • Improving or adjusting IT services to address changing business needs.
    • Planning, implementing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. 

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Relevant Degree in Information Technology.

    Minimum Experience

    • Minimum 5 Years’ experience in an IT systems infrastructure environment.
    • Experience in Service Desk and Telephony systems will be advantageous.
    • Experience with Enterprise networks will be advantageous.
    • Mining Industry experience will be advantageous.

    Financial Accountant - Revenue (Witbank)

    Job Description

    The incumbent in this role is responsible for managing the complete financial accounting system for Group Services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Providing accurate, timeous, and relevant financial information to management to enable them to make informative decisions.
    • Tracking and reporting on key business drivers.
    • Managing the Accounts Receivable Department.
    • Completing all month end reporting.

    Job Description

    The incumbent in this role is responsible for controlling, co-ordinating and managing the entire Control Room and Mining Systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitoring of productivity and reporting.
    • Optimally allocating mining fleet.
    • Developing dispatching strategies that satisfy the goals of the operation.
    • Liaising with Production Supervisors and Operators to satisfy the goals of the operation.
    • Ensuring emergency preparedness and response.
