    Customer Service Consultant - JHB

    Key Responsibilities for this position:

    • Answering all incoming calls as per standard operating procedures.
    • Handling enquiries via telephone, fax or e-mail.
    • Processing of telephonic orders.
    • Processing of quotations.
    • Following up on orders, both domestic and foreign.
    • Liaising with other departments.
    • Perform general administration duties.
    • Relieving the Switchboard when necessary.
    • Ensure required service level targets as stipulated in KPA are met or exceeded.                       

    Requirements/Experience:

    • Grade 12
    • A minimum of two to three years’ experience in a customer services environment.
    • Bilingual.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Good listening skills.
    • The ability to foster good relations with customers.
    • Strong interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills.
    • Computer literacy is an essential requirement.
    • Previous experience in Book master would also be advantageous.
    • Previous experience in the Publishing industry would be advantageous

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Investigate and research articles
    • Write quality news and feature articles, adhering to strict deadlines
    • Create target-market-specific articles
    • Generate feature ideas

    Senior Accountant - Johannesburg

    Key responsibilities

    • Oversee, implement and maintain financial accounting / administration and internal control processes and procedures;
    • Review and authorise monthly account reconciliations;
    • Review and authorise all journal entries to the General Ledger;
    • Control monthly accruals, i.e. Provide for accruals and monitor related expenses;
    • Responsible for preparation and submission of direct and indirect tax calculations;
    • Review of cashbook and bank reconciliations to ensure that they are accurate, and all reconciling items are timeously cleared;
    • Review and authorise monthly creditors reconciliations;
    • Review and authorise monthly royalty reconciliations;
    • Prepare, get authorization and submit all documentation relating to the bank accounts;
    • Identify financial accounting risks and contribute towards developing and implementing mitigating strategies;
    • Report on all cost activities (e.g. budget, forecasts) and on work in progress in line with company policies, legislation and IFRS;
    • Report on variances between budgets, commitments and expenditure;
    • Assist with refining and enhancing financial reporting for the division;
    • Maintain all aspects relating to company fixed assets;
    • May be responsible for allocation of group charges and recoveries; and
    • Review balance sheet reconciliations;
    • Liaise with and assist internal and external auditors as and when needed (internal auditors might liaise more with accountant)

    Skills, competencies, qualifications and experience

    Minimum requirements

    • B Com degree or national diploma in internal auditing, taxation, finance and cost and management.
    •  3 to 5 years’ experience in the same or similar role
    • Relevant experience in Financial analysis / reporting / budgeting
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation;
    • Knowledge of Internal Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
    • Knowledge of budgeting processes;
    • Proficiency in relevant software packages and applications.
