    Electrician - Upington

    Main responsibilities

    Perform Electrical Duties on Plant

    • Perform work in the modification, repair test and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems
    • Perform work in the modification, technical troubleshoot, repair test and maintenance of all facility electrical equipment and systems
    • Complete routine safety documentation before every job including tailgate meetings, electrical work permits, etc.
    • Perform switching, isolation, safety test and earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level of the organizational ORHVS and PSR
    • Perform OEM specific Preventative and Corrective Maintenance tasks on , trackers, and all other PV electrical equipment to adhere to warranty requirements and industry best practices
    • Interpret schematics and blueprints
    • Quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions needed
    • Daily digital reporting and document on CMMS the maintenance activities of all facility electrical equipment, systems and spare parts
    • Control and perform monthly electrical equipment/instruments and tools inspections
    • Monitor and support the activities of the Maintenance Contractor
    • Perform all maintenance activities in line with contract training requirements
    • Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes
    • Identify and provide feedback to issues and ongoing development of projects
    • Perform functions of Authorised Person and Responsible Person as per Plant requirements

    Supervision and training

    • Supervise and train junior personnel in associated duties
    • Act as team leader
    • Supervise, train and evaluate junior electrical staff
    • Perform general tasks and ad hoc duties as required on site
    • Assist with reporting requirements and support any site audit as requested
    • Perform various HSSE related inspections and documenting
    • Report to Plant Management and perform Appointed Person on Duty (APD) functions when O&M Manager is not on site

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • N3 Qualification
    • Qualified Electrician and ORHVS qualification
    • Registered 3 phase installation electrician (SANS 10142); not single-phase tester
    • Computer literate – Excel & Word
    • 5+ years Electrical experience – AC & DC electrical systems
    • Proven experience on MV & HV equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance
    • Ability to take ownership of electrical systems on the plant
    • High Voltage Switching and Solar PV Plant experience
    • Supervision and training - Supervise, train junior personnel in associated duties and evaluate electrical staff
    • Maintain Transformers and Switchgear and Assist with reporting and perform various HSE related inspections

    HSSE Manager (12 Month Contract) - Ceres

    Main responsibilities 

    • In collaboration management and Health and Safety Agent, ensure compliance with applicable legislation and other requirements
    • Ensure legal permits are in place, maintain, compliance and develop, implement and continual improve project HSSE management system documentation
    • Keep informed of new regulatory developments and other safety issues and to disseminate such information as required
    • Report accomplishments, results, problem areas and deficiencies to management with recommendations for corrective actions where needed
    • Assist management to ensure effective implementation of the project HSSE program and continual improvement
    • Supervise the HSSE Program and assume authority of monitoring and enforcing the elements of the program
    • Establish communications systems encouraging worker participation in identifying and correcting HSSE hazards
    • Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported, investigated and mitigation measures implemented accordingly and encourage an open attitude towards reporting of incidents and creating an environment for discussions of incidents including sharing lessons learned
    • Plan and execute HSSE internal audits and participate on external audits and ensure that audit recommendations are effectively implemented
    • Liaison with authorities and other stakeholders regarding project HSSE management and report to management

    Qualifications and competencies:

    • Education: University Degree or equivalent and/or valid qualification on environment, occupational health, and safety
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction HSSE management and registered as CHSM with SACPCMP
    • Language: fluent both in written and spoken English
    • Valid SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Manager
    • In depth understanding of a risk based HSSE management system
    • Team player, building a positive HSSE culture
    • Knowledge of international standards related to HSSE (i.e., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.)
    • Knowledge of IFC’s HSSE guidelines, IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and HSE laws and regulations

    Senior Project Developer

    Main responsibilities

    • Undertake market reviews, analyze and keep abreast of the competitive landscape, regulation and policies for utility-scale renewable energy projectsLead and Support the Negotiations for Project Acquisition and manage the acquisition/transaction process
    • Participate in and/or lead bidding processes in response to Request for Proposals (“RFPs”) from utilities and private off-takers
    • Support and Lead the Process to secure equity and debt finance for projects until financial close
    • Lead Negotiations with development partners and assume responsibility for external relationships
    • Plan and coordinate internal and external project development activities including securing land rights, obtaining required local permits and approvals, securing interconnection rights from utilities negotiating PPAs with utilities,
    • Establishing EPC and O&M agreements, as well as securing project equity and debt financing
    • Greenfielding forms part of this portfolio development
    • Manage project development teams, often numbering 10-20 individuals, including internal resources, consultants, and development subcontractors
    • Prepare and present project opportunities for senior management approval

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • Engineering, Environmental, Legal, Commercial university level degree
    • 5-10 years professional experience ideally in IPPs, Investment Banking, Project Finance/Operations and/or Leading Global Management Consulting firms within RE industry or RE Independent Power Producers
    • Experience with closing complex transactions, deal structuring and project finance
    • Understanding of the C&I sector.
    • Significant experience with RE project development in emerging markets
    • Understanding of power markets and in particular RE generation
    • Working knowledge and understanding of PPAs, interconnection agreements, permitting requirements and EPC contract terms and conditions is preferable
    • Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and financial analysis
    • Experience with permitting of RE projects
    • Knowledge of RE Development Regulatory Framework in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa

    Project Document Controller: 12 Month Contract

    Main responsibilities 

    • Manage deliverables on MDL and SMDLs
    • Control Workflow progress on internal documents and do DC check

    Procurement and Logistics Manager (Release)

    Main responsibilities 

    • Provide continuous input towards improvement and optimisation of the operating system
    • Produce and maintain strategic documents, policies and procedures
    • Procurement Compliance: Develop, implement and maintain procurement policy and procedure in the countries where Release is active
    • Advise on local account set up for consumable procurement
    • Minimise down time on operations and maximise production through efficient supply chain performance
    • Manage supplier defects and claims process
    • Manage the warranty claims on behalf of Release

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • Degree in Supply Chain Management, B.SC in business administration, Legal degree, B.SC QS or similar
    • Advanced proficiency in MSWord, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentations
    • Trained in contracts management (FIDIC)
    • 8+ years’ experience in Supply Chain
    • This includes: 2+ years’ experience in a managerial position with direct reports
    • Understanding and interpreting the wider company strategies to sculpt and implement the supply chain strategy.
    • Develop sourcing strategies for individual projects to secure on-time deliveries and effective financing.
    • Strong ability to interpretate, communicate and deliver on supply chain KPI's.

    Quality Lead (Release)

    Main responsibilities

    • General quality support
    • Superuser in FTQ360 (Quality Management Software) or other software platform if adopted
    • Contribute to development of the Quality processes on the Release Operating System
    • Participate and contribute to development of Release Quality team
    • Support to projects: Establish the quality strategy, goals and objectives for project and plan the implementation thereof
    • Prepare the Project Quality Plans and improve Release quality process
    • Review and approval of Quality Plans from suppliers and subcontractors (FATs, SATs)
    • Maintain all quality documentation and work closely with Document Control to manage quality documentation
    • Drive the implementation of the quality improvement plans through the project site teams and suppliers
    • Lead the Quality reviews and produce Quality reports as required
    • Equip quality inspectors/officers (on site and at sub-suppliers) to perform quality inspections by providing onboarding and training to these individuals and teams

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • University Degree or equivalent in economic-technical engineering and/or business/economics
    • At least 5 years’ experience in Quality management
    • Working experience in a Construction project environment in a Quality role
    • Quality reporting, audits and ISO certifications
    • Preferably experience in process management, inspection, site construction and installation
    • Experience in the development and implementation of project QA/QC plans
    • Fluent in English, spoken and written 
    • Good knowledge in ISO 9001:2015, preferably accreditation in ISO auditing.
    • Fully computer literate and an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, in particular SharePoint
    • Understanding of quality principles and ability to oversee their implementation.
    • Valid driver's license
