Job Description:
The role of the Electrical Engineer will be to design, analyse, verify, commission and ensure compliance of projects according to national standards, best practices and regulations. The Electrical Engineer will report to the Head of Engineering for all phases of the project from the design phase to final commissioning and handover.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate great attention to detail with excellent engineering skills and multi-tasking abilities. The goal is to ensure that all potential and active solar projects are evaluated, designed, budgeted and commissioned to ensure standards are met. Furthermore, the position would require continuous product research and testing to ensure the execution of projects using relevant and up-to-date technology, improving systems based on lessons learned.
Project size would range from 20kWp to 10MWp. You may be required to work occasional overtime to meet critical project deadlines. The candidate should be willing to travel within South Africa, as well as other African countries, with travelling expected up to 40%, depending on project stages.

Position of the job in the organisation:
The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of the Engineering Department on all project-related matters.
Principal responsibilities:
Conduct solar project feasibility studies by evaluating customer data and doing on-site electrical evaluations.
Create solar project designs and engineering including but not limited to prelim and detailed designs, sizing, analysing designs and compliance checking.
Ensure solar project designs, installation, and commissioning meet electrical and SolarAfrica standards.
Provide Engineering support to internal teams from Sales to Operations.
Determine and update solar project metrics.
Conduct product research to ensure we are implementing up to date technology and solutions.
Any other job duties as assigned.
PERSON DESCRIPTION
Experience:
Must have 3+ years of proven electrical engineering experience, with formal Technicon or University qualification(s).
A driver’s license is essential.
Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Microsoft Projects and an expert, extremely competent in Excel.
Advantageous Skills include:
Experience in the solar industry.
Experience in PVSYST, Helioscope and CAD software.
Knowledge of:
MV reticulation, protection and design
Grid Code requirements
SANS 10142 and NRS 097-2 standards, with specific reference to embedded generation
Local municipal standards and procedures
Surge, lightning protection and grounding systems. Networking equipment and industrial communication protocols like Modbus, RS485, Ethernet, etc.

Job Description:
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for all administrative tasks within the finance team’s day to day operations with a strong focus on managing Accounts Receivable. The finance department works with entities in Africa and Mauritius, with the bulk of the activity being in South Africa.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail. The goal is to ensure that the accounts team are fully supported while at the same time having a firm grip on the various receivables portfolios within the group. The role offers a lot of room to grow and learn for someone ambitious and diligent.
Position of the job in the organisation:
The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Finance.
Principal duties/responsibilities:
Manage account receivables, including processing customer invoices and following up on outstanding payments
Resolve customer queries and account discrepancies
Generate and maintain accurate Accounts Receivable Age Analysis
Report on accounts receivable metrics to management weekly
Intercompany billing and reconciliations
Bank allocations and reconciliations
Onboarding of new customers and establishing financial relationships with customers
Preparation of VAT reports and reconciliations
Preparation of VAT audit supporting documentation
Correspondence with SARS to resolve pending VAT queries
Assisting with the inventory process
Assisting with preparing monthly reporting packs
Collaboration with relevant stakeholders to obtain relevant info for banking, BBBEE and/or due diligence processes
Assistance with budgets and forecasting
Reviewing of expense claims submitted
Checking of invoices loaded on XERO
Reconciling recovery accounts monthly
Ad-hoc administrative tasks related to finance
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in maintaining financial ledgers and preparing reconciliations.
Two years experience in a similar role OR studying towards a BCom degree in Accounting (or equivalent qualification such as CIMA) with one-year working experience.
Intermediate Excel skills.
Proficient in MS Word.
Good knowledge of VAT and Tax principles will be advantageous.

By month 3: I have familiarised myself with all SolarAfrica platforms, operating practices and financial timelines.
By month 6: I am up to date with all clients and own the accounts receivables portfolios and processes, in their entirety.
By month 9: I can fully perform my duties without relying on those who served these specific functions before I joined the team.

Co-ordinate birthday and work anniversary gifts and cards – buying, distributing printing and cutting
Schedule monthly toolbox talk & the rota
Co-ordinate bi-weekly office braai including buying food and drinks

Corporate Secretarial duties including; preparing company resolutions, creation of share certificates and coordinating required signatures.
Assist the Marketing Manager with taking photos of new staff members, corporate clothing ordering, sizing and distributing
Manage the physical office including the alarm & security issues, aircon issues & servicing, ensure the TV’s are working, remotes have batteries, the camera on TV works etc.
Assist with events coordination such as year-end and Quarterly Manco meetings & plan fun office events - Valentine’s Day, Heritage Day etc.
Manage all devices and relevant suppliers (e.g. Vodacom, Nashua, etc.)
Manage office maintenance (broken windows, broken furniture, carpet cleaning)
Manage vehicles (licences, services, repairs, fuel cards, logbook, fines etc.) and update the monthly sheet for Finance Department
Co-ordinate Management meetings & minute taker at Manco quarterly meetings
IT – Asset Register for electronic equipment such as cell phones/laptops etc, co-ordinating the ordering of laptops, assisting with printer & WIFI issues, Arranging repairs of laptops and cell phones, responsible for laptop cables, chargers, extension cords, computer screens
HR – assisting with buying gifts for employees/partners on specific occasions, onboarding paperwork for new joiners
Manage petty cash
Access control - arranging access for new employees and keys to office etc.
Plan trips for members of the company, including the booking of flights, organisation of transport, accommodation and Visa arrangements, where necessary. Obtain the best possible rates for travel and accommodation
Managing Office Junior in terms of leave, day to day duties and quarterly catchups
Any other duties as required
PERSON DESCRIPTION
Experience:
Previous administration experience is essential. Experience working in a technical industry or renewables will be advantageous but not a prerequisite.
Experience with multiple software/computer literacy is required.
