    Filler Packer

    PRIMARY PURPOSE

    • Completion of a variety of basic and/or manual tasks required in the processing and packaging of products within specified parameters and in accordance with the MECP framework and standards and Standard Operating Procedures. (Are SOP’s applicable to manual labour?)
    • To operate primary processing and packaging equipment by adjusting, maintaining and controlling processing equipment, within organisational set up and operating parameters, to ensure that products are produced, by achieving quality standards and according to production specifications.
    • To safely operate and maintain primary & secondary packaging machinery. To coordinate & lead daily activities for, but not limited to Autonomous Operator, General worker. Operating within a team in order to pack finished products according to planned production requirements ensuring good quality packed product at the right cost.

    OUTPUTS & SUCCESS MEASURES

    • Completion of tasks
    • Completion of relevant operational documents / records.
    • Follow relevant SOP’s
    • Quality control and quality assurance results responded to if necessary.
    • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness on assigned equipment.
    • Report Non-conformances where required
    • Adherence to key KPI’s
    • Part of continuous operation with staggered lunch break to ensure efficient operation
    • Hygiene and Housekeeping
    • Apply good manufacturing principles in the relevant work area.
    • Utilize allocated cleaning materials in maintaining the high standard within the relevant work area
    • Ensure set hygiene standards are adhered tat all times.
    • Safety and adherence to company policies and procedures including the manufacturing protocol
    • Ensure adherence to the Health and Safety regulations.
    • Ensure allocated equipment is safe to operate and all safety features are operational.
    • Ensure that all evident unsafe situations are reported, and attended to immediately.
    • Ensure familiarisation and compliance with all company policies, practises and procedures and the manufacturing protocol.
    • Workplace improvement
    • Participate effectively in the Invocoms sessions.
    • Participate and or identify non compliances to be addressed using the SGA process.
    • Application of manufacturing Excellence Methodology i.e. MECP, 20keys.
    • Participate in all MECP activities
    • Workplace Safety
    • Follows safe workplace practices and can report workplace hazards

    • All qualifications related to Procurement: A relevant degree in Procurement/ CIPS qualification

    • 65% Academic Average
    • Citizen in the country of hire
    • A relevant bachelor’s degree
    • High levels of ambition and self-motivation, supported by a strong desire for a career in FMCG, within Tiger Brands
    • Leadership and team working capabilities
    • Must have displayed the potential for high achievement and innovation throughout their qualification
    • Have not worked full time (more than 1 year, not including workplace experience) in their field of study
    • Recent graduate from a tertiary institution in South Africa
    • Work authorization in the country for which application is being submitted
    • Geographical mobility – you will move to different locations throughout the training programme and you will need to relocate
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    Palletiser Operator-1

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    • You will be responsible for operating the Palletizer machine to world class standards while completing QC documents. You are required to comply with safety protocols while operating the machine, ensure your fully compliant with required PPE, raise SRO’s and comply with Tiger brands safety policy. Ensure that equipment and work area is clean and GMP (Good manufacturing practice) adherence, ensure MECP KPIs are met.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Avoid generation of reworks
    • Achieve the shift plan
    • Always verify with Quality Assurance Technician or Production Controller if in doubt
    • Reconcile wasted material and product at the end of shifts
    • Be on your workstation in time
    • Check the machine for readiness (pre-checks)
    • Do changeovers and minor settings
    • Run the machine according to standard speed
    • Ensure that machine downtimes and process control sheet are recorded
    • Immediately write a job card and report breakdowns to relevant maintenance personnel.
    • Reconcile the daily report for the line (plan VS actual)
    • Fill in short interval control during the shift every hour (SIC)
    • Start the machine on time and shut down on time at the end of the shift and ensure procedure documents are filled and signed off
    • Handle the product according to HACCP standard
    • Operate machine as per SOP
    • Wear your PPE
    • Check machine guards and ensure they are in place.

    • Matric/Grade12 with Mathematics and Physical Science or Matric with RPL or 3 years Tertiary qualification (NQF 6)
    • Industry – +- 2-years’ experience within FMCG industry

    Table Sorter

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    • You will be responsible for sorting and recoding of quality defects (Table sorter) to world class standards while completing QC documents. You are required to comply with safety protocols while sorting, ensure your fully compliant with required PPE, raise SRO’s and comply with Tiger brands safety policy.
    • Ensure that your work area is clean and GMP (Good manufacturing practice) adherence, ensure MECP KPIs are met.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Avoid generation of reworks
    • Achieve the shift plan
    • Timeously record full can code
    • Timeously correctly inspect and record label and product specification on the QC check sheet
    • Record waste and can code correctly on the QC check sheet
    • Ensure rework from downstream does not accumulate.
    • Assist the station before and after the table to clean during Maintenance
    • Ensure defective product is detected and removed from the line
    • Immediately escalate deviations and product non-conformance to your line manager.
    • Give accurate and detailed hand over to incoming shift
    • Handle the product according to HACCP standard
    • Wear your PPE

    Essential Skills & Qualifications

    • Matric/Grade12 with Mathematics and Physical Science or Matric with RPL or 3 years Tertiary qualification (NQF 6)

    Fitter Technician

     

    • You will be responsible for Operating, maintaining, repairing and optimizing plant and associated equipment to ensure plant availability.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Operational Support
    • Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations.  Where requested assist as a functional expert in problem solving.
    • Running Repairs
    • Partake in carrying out repairs on plant equipment as required on shift
    • Planned Maintenance
    • Take part in maintenance planning meetings, contributing suggestions, clarifying work required and carrying out maintenance tasks and building maintenance programs
    • Housekeeping & Safety
    • Operate in a safe manner at all times, identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected
    • Ensure OEE targets are met 
    • Ensure all maintenance tasks are carried out to maximise plant availability and OEE to meet targets
    • Reporting and administration
    • Ensure the various reports and administration tasks are carried out to support engineering and production
