    Junior Plant Planner

    Job description

    Requirements

    • Create a feasible production schedule to make the most efficient use of time and resources.
    • Minimise line change-overs.
    • Allow the plant to minimise downtime and maximise fryer output (Site Compliance).
    • Provide a schedule that will achieve the service objectives of customer demands (Site Inventory Days on Hand & Produced Freshness)
    • Balance manufacturing efficiency with distribution efficiencies (Site SKU Attainment Level)
    • Liaise with raw material stores with regards to availability of material for the production plan, to ensure there will be no material shortages affecting the production process.
    • Keep track of production numbers, anticipate problems that could affect the schedule.
    • Monitor the production schedule throughout the week and make changes were necessary, such as when resources do not arrive as planned or when an equipment fails.
    • Built in planned maintenances, boil outs and cycle counts into the production schedule.
    • Compile daily report for OPS managers to give a view of the line performance.
    • Compile weekly report, with regards to TE, SKU compliance and volume compliance.
    • Compile monthly reports.

    Qualification

    • (NP Supply chain, Logistics, Operations & Industrial engineering)
    • 3 years' experience as Production Planner or Scheduler in a FMCG environment
    • Detailed understanding of the factors affecting plant efficiencies and constraints
    • Analytical, deadline and results driven and able to work under pressure
    • Able to work with people, both internally and externally

    Requirements

    • Control the receipt, storage and dispatch of stock so as to ensure that all stock items can be accounted for at all times.
    • Ensure stock are timeously receipted into the Warehouse Management System.
    • Ensure that all stock returns from internal locations are correctly re ceived.
    • Maintain effective stock rotation on a firstinfirstout basis to ensure stock freshness in accordance with company policy.
    • Ensure that all safety and security procedures are adhered to.
    • Supervise a RMS staff of approximately 11 subordinates
    • Leave

    • Ensure that all Equipment is in good working condition enabling maximum productivity
    • Manage the receiving area on a daily basis.
    • Administer all aspects of SAP.
    • Receiving of Raw Materials.
    • Control physical storage of inventories through stock rotation (FIFO)
    • Quality
    • All AIB issues.
    • Quality receiving reports
    • Master cleaning schedules
    • Ensure stock counts are done before 17H00 on Sunday
    • Obtain a 0% variance every week.
    • Ensure that all SAP functions are done timelessly and accurately.
    • Handle and investigate all claims associated with shortages and damages to be sent back
    • General administration.
    • Forklift safety checks
    • Accurate filling and availability thereof (document control)
    • Assisting production with generating and executing of production orders
    • Manage inventory worth R33 Million of material
    • Matric negotiable
    • Diploma in inventory Management/Warehouse Management would be advantageous
    • SAP experience negotiable
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in warehouse management and stores control
    • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience
    • IR experience would be advantageous
