    Sales Specialist LV & MV Drives

    You will be working as a Sales Engineer and will be the part of Motion Business Area for Drive Products Division based in Cape Town, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to the Sales Manager and will be responsible for sales of Drive Products and System Drives for the Western and Eastern Cape Region in accordance with the Motion strategy. Building long term relations with customers and providing resolution to their needs and issues.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Volume and profit: Selling medium voltage and low voltage drives products to customers by focusing on growing market share through annual budget by account, orders forecast, gap to budget, time to quote, hit-rate by account, customer segmentation and cash collection.
    • Customer relations: Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product/systems/ services offering, and align to provide a solution and manage customer expectation. Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process striving for “superior customer satisfaction”.
    • Sales plans: Preparing sales plans by using company tools. Performing regular status and proposing recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls. Achieving profitability targets for the medium voltage and low voltage drives products.
    • Sales Adding value for the customer and ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals by using effective sales techniques. Communicating details in accordance with ABB offering and strategy (delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions).
    • Marketing: Ensuring efficient marketing activities and value proposition to customers.
    • New market opportunities: Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensuring know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
    • Administration: Managing administrative procedures in sales processes and supporting collection and project management activities when needed.
    • Offer preparation: Preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department or marketing manager. Ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in S4, T3 or N6 Engineering.
    • Minimum 5 years front end sales experience in low voltage or medium voltage drives.
    • Strong knowledge of the drives market in the Western & Eastern Cape Region would be beneficial.
    • Strong network within the MV and LV drives market.
    • Work requires an exceptional high level of technical skills, applications knowledge and experience with drives products in order to provide technical support and quotes to our customer base.
    • Work requires an in-depth knowledge of the markets for drives products in South Africa.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.

    Head of Communications/ Communications Manager

    You will be working as Head of Communications / Communications Manager and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Modderfontein, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Global Vice President Communications and will responsible for Process Automation (PA) division’s communications in the market and driving awareness amongst key stakeholders such as business, trade, media, customers, and other key opinion leaders. Managing external and internal communications within in the country on behalf of ABB by acting as a spokesperson and engaging in crisis management and ensuring positive branding of ABB in the market.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Aligning and optimizing local communications strategy and preparing roadmap for Process Automation (PA) division towards media, customers, employees and stakeholders by keeping in consideration of the objectives and priorities of local or global division's communication management.
    • Supporting the division in implementing the local communication campaign aligning with the local or global team and executing activities and campaigns.
    • Optimizing cross Process Automation (PA) division’s communications activities within the country and other regions.
    • Driving PA campaigns into the local market and managing ABB’s participation at strategic events and conferences. Authorizing ABB country spokesperson towards the local business media.
    • Leading crisis communications management of the country crisis task force. Guiding other divisions on the crises and issues and ensuring all internal issues and crises are handled effectively without having any negative impact on the brand and the organization. Managing the external crisis communication agency as per the global processes.
    • Managing local communication council across business areas to foster collaboration and ensuring governance of local communication channels including internet, intranet, employee tools and social media.
    • Managing internal communications and ensuring to comply with the GDPR (General Data Privacy Regulations).
    • Ensuring transparency and efficiency in allocating and managing the communication budget. Supporting global teams on the implementation of key projects across all business areas.

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations or similar discipline.
    • Minimum 6-10 years of management experience in Marketing, Communication Management or Public Relations in a matrix style organization.
    • Candidates should have in-depth knowledge and experience in all aspects of internal and external communications mix.
    • Candidates must have experience in copywriting and editing for business communications and should have prior experience in customer communications and campaign management.
    • Strong business partnering and collaboration skills with the experience of managing internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent command over English language.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
