    API Gateway Platform Engineer

    Join an exciting and dynamic team of API Gateway Platform Engineers, who are responsible for shaping the technical API economy for the bank. Work within the Platforms and Engineering Gateway technology tribe responsible for the development, design and run of the API Gateway platform. Apply platform engineering expertise, critical thinking, design thinking and problem solving skills to produce well-organized, optimized and documented source code that successfully delivers platform features, components of the service and solves complex technical problems with high quality solutions. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations of the API Gateway Platform.

    Key accountabilities: (What you’ll get to do)

    • Leverage platform engineering expertise and a working knowledge of specific platforms (physical Datapower Gateway appliances, vmware, Openshift) and their constituent parts to positively contribute to platform feature and service designs
    • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting e.g. Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes
    • Use and configure modern observability techniques leveraging e.g. aggregated logging via Elastic Search stack, metrics via Prometheus / Grafana and tracing using Zipkin
    • Leverage platform (service design and code) and engineering technical expertise to proactively identify risks and prevent defects
    • Uphold our technical principles of: self-service, scalability, re-usability, resilience & stability in all development practices and deliver feature sets that sustainably deliver on these principles
    • Develop and document complete designs and implement testing processes that identify and eradicate platform or service-wide problems / improve on platform performance
    • Enable problem resolution across technical teams, apply and or facilitate root cause analysis, deeply understand the root causes of issues and find ways to resolve them (sustainably)
    • Continuously review and find ways to optimize team processes and improve engineering quality, productivity and team responsiveness to feedback and changing priorities
    • Optimize, refactor and reuse components to improve performance and maintainability – ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment
    • Take accountability for maintaining platform standards and best practices, and drive adoption across multiple service teams
    • Contribute to a high performance team environment by coaching and mentoring other engineers, support engineering teams on technical solutions and problem resolution, and proactively seek coaching and mentoring from others

    Role/Person specification: (What do you need to get in?)

    • 3 - 5 years solid experience in coding / scripting languages e.g. Java, Python, JavaScript, Bash scripting, XSLT, Springboot
    • Solid understanding of messaging protocols and API technologies like SOAP and REST
    • 3 – 5 years solid experience with CI / CD tools (like Jenkins, Ansible, Bamboo, Bitbucket, GIT) and Artifact Management (preferably Nexus),
    • 3 – 5 years solid experience on analytics tools and Big Data Platforms like Elastic Search, Hadoop
    • 3 - 5 years solid experience with Cloud platforms e.g. Azure, AWS
    • Solid understanding and experience with Web Security protocols like OAuth, Open Connect ID and SAML, preferably with an understanding of AD / LDAP / Kerberos
    • 3 - 5 years solid experience with Containerisation technologies like Docker, vmware ,Openshift, Kubernetes and Rancher
    • 3 - 5 years solid Networking experience with a solid understanding of Network layer security like TLS

    Senior Data Engineer - Internal Audit: Vice President Level

    The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, constructing, installing, testing and maintaining highly scalable data management systems, processes and solutions, including automation of core RPA areas as well as the introduction of machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions, techniques and capabilities in the business.

    Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • To deliver the design, coding, testing, documenting and implementation of integrated systems, tools and solutions in accordance with agreed standards and timelines.
    • Test-Driven development
    • Work closely with users and testers to automate and digitise functional tests, processes and procedures.
    • Diagnose production issues and provide assistance to production support staff.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field.
    • 5 years’ Information Technology experience.
    • 5 years’ Database Administration, design and implementation experience.
    • 5 years’ experience in Programming in relevant programming languages.
    • 2 years’ Experience with diagnostic tools used for problem determination and resolution.
    • Exposure in Internal Audit.
    • Experience in Banking.
    • Exposure in Database Management.
    • Exposure in Data modelling.

    Head of Data Science, Innovation and Robotic Process Auditing

    The role will provide leadership and support to business on digital and robotics assurance coverage, use machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions, techniques and capabilities to perform and enhance data discovery & insights to ensure business is operationally capable of delivering their required objectives in an economical, efficient and effective manner.

    Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Design competitive customer centric digital and risk based solutions, using Big Data, to contribute to sustainable value creation for all stakeholders.
    • Provide end-to-end execution of all prioritised approved strategic change initiatives, including technology system enhancements, replacements and other projects through collaborative action of approved, optimised, limited resources.

    • Facilitate knowledge and information sharing across the business and stakeholders.
    • Influence the practical and effective implementation and embedment of combined assurance across the Lines of Defence using digital, technology and data solutions.
    • Establish and embed a continuous improvement programme to enhance capabilities and sustained development within the audit portfolio.
    • Establish and embed the technology and data ecosystems for digital, continuous monitoring and assurance.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field.
    • 7+ years’ Information Technology experience.
    • 7+ years database design experience.
    • 7+ years’ experience in Programming in relevant programming languages.
    • Experience in design and implementation of digital assurance initiatives.
    • Experience in effective design and embedment of continuous monitoring and auditing solutions.
    • Experience in Banking.
    • Experience in Internal Audit, including Agile Internal Audit.
    • Experience in Quality Assurance.
