Role Description

As the Financial Controller you will perform a full financial management function, including the delivery of monthly management accounts and timely statutory submissions. You will also need to develop financial processes and conduct effective financial reporting that enables management, the executive committee and the board to effectively grow the business. This role will ask you to provide effective profitability forecasting with a focus on performance improvement. You will be a leader to the company’s finance team.

Salary

R42,000 – R50,000 per month

Responsibilities

• A full financial management and delivery function, including the delivery of monthly management accounts by working day 7 (to reduce to working day 5 over time) and timely statutory submissions.
• Development of financial processes for the finance function
• Effective financial reporting that enables management, the executive committee and the board to effectively grow the business
• Provide effective forecasting for the profitability of the company and cash flow requirements (including management of working capital and forecasting of investor balance requirements)
• Focus on performance improvement by monitoring (and addressing where necessary) expenses and identify and implement business model improvements
• Lead a 5+ person finance team

Requirements

• An Accounting graduate
• 3 years’ experience on Xero
• 5 years’ experience in recon, compiling and presentation of monthly management accounts for R10 million to R100 million turnover companies
• 5 years’ experience doing statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, income tax)
• 5 years’ experience managing creditors/debtors
• 5 years’ experience in financial forecasting (profitability and cashflow)
• 5 years’ experience with financial process development
• Being a Chartered Accountant would be beneficial

Role Description

Looking for an experienced and qualified Lead Developer to grow and manage in-house development capabilities and the underlying technology infrastructure as the company scales. Immediate challenges involve completing back-end functionality, designing and implementing a customer facing front end, and implementing more advanced machine learning clustering models. Key responsibilities will include ensuring a constant flow of new features, smooth client service delivery and maintaining data integrity. The salary offer is market related depending on experience and comes with an employee stock option programme. Other perks include flexible hours, flexible leave, remote working and quarterly bonuses.

Salary

R60,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Responsibilities

• Maintain data integrity
• Proactively lead the technical team incl. hiring and onboarding

Requirements

• Honours level or higher education in computer science/engineering or related
• 5+ years’ experience as a lead developer
• Experience in deploying systems with heavy security and scalability requirements
• Proven skills in hiring and managing members of a technical team
• Well rounded “full-stack” software engineering capabilities
• Current tech stack: Python, Django, React, Postgres, AWS, Elastic Beanstalk
• Strong database administration knowledge
• Proven project management and administration skills
• Experience with event driven systems (preferable)
• Experience with building models using machine learning (preferable)
