    Brand Manager - Dell ISG

    MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    • The Dell ISG Brand Manager is responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and overall success of the Dell Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) portfolio. This includes developing and executing brand strategy, achieving revenue and gross profit targets, managing vendor and reseller relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across all supporting functions.
    • The role oversees sales performance, business development, marketing initiatives, budget and stock management, partner enablement, and team development, while ensuring that Internal Sales Support, Pre-Sales, Procurement, and Logistics teams have the necessary skills, knowledge, and certifications to effectively support the Dell ISG business.

    Dell ISG Brand Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities
    Sales

    • Driving Gross Profit targets through Resellers.
    • Selling First Distribution’s product portfolio within existing Resellers.
    • Recruitment of new Resellers.
    • Display key competencies of product knowledge and brand programs across the relevant portfolio of products.
    • Bi-weekly sales review with Line Manager.
    • Drive targeted partner development planning.
    • Drive Sales Strategy and overview sessions with resellers.
    • On-boarding processes within accounts: operational, sales, technical processes.
    • Build and manage effective relationships with relevant team members and resellers.
    • Ensure the satisfactory execution of the aligned business plan in conjunction with your Line Manager and Brand Managers.
    • Demonstrate sales growth.
    • Demonstrate the ability to Identify and Qualify new deals and partners in order to sustain the required levels of pipeline and target coverage
    • Report opportunity details to the Line Manager and brand managers on a regular basis (weekly) showing deal progression and pipeline creation using the Customer Relationship Management system.
    • Ensure that sales targets are achieved and report any deviations with detailed explanations.
    • Ensure targeted profit margins are achieved.
    • Ensure brand rebates are realized.
    • Ensure adherence to Call Plans
    • Ensure weekly activities and minutes of meetings are reported to the Line Manager.
    • Ensure sales reports and sales forecasts are submitted to Line Manager.

    Manage the Brand Sales performance and operational excellence

    • Driving revenue and GP targets for the assigned brand/s across the full territory where we have distribution rights.
    • Continuously support sales growth in all regions.
    • Executing on and aligning with Vendor objectives.
    • Driving Vendor Strategy and portfolio within existing and new targeted accounts.
    • Understand Vendor strategy, programs, and complete portfolio of products
    • Run Quarterly Business Review Sessions with the vendor
    • Partner recruitment and Development – Operational processes
    • Build and manage relationship with Vendors team members
    • Understand in detail the vendor's rebate programs and ensure alignment to maximize rebate attainment.
    • Report opportunity details to the Vendor on a regular basis (as required by the vendor) showing deal progression and pipeline creation using the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
    • Ensure that sales targets are achieved and report any deviations with detailed reasoning
    • Management of the brand budget and P&L.
    • Balance the income statement and any General Ledger accounts assigned to the brand at least monthly.
    • Manage any stock and ensure optimal stock is purchased and avoid stock aging.
    • All Warehousing and Logistics associated with assigned brand/s
    • Control the Operating profit for the brand in accordance with the budget.
    • Pipeline management using CRM – ensure accuracy is always maintained
    • Manage pricing and margins to maximise profitability.
    • Ensure the accuracy of product codes and pricing
    • Remain updated with product changes and required training certifications.
    • Ensure all staff who require training are trained and all certifications are maintained.

    Marketing Management

    • Conduct Marketing Planning sessions and take Accountability for the Marketing plan.
    • Work with both EMMC and Vendor Marketing teams to ensure the effectiveness of all Marketing activity.
    • Partner Enablement (Target, Certifications, growth)
    • Develop a Business Development Plan that documents the key sales & marketing strategies and a management system that measures performance and success.
    • Align marketing activities in each region appropriately
    • Work on growing market share
    • Understand the competitive landscape and develop strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
    • Ensure customer enablement is run frequently, and customers are always updated with the latest from the vendor.

    People Management

    • Manage the Sales Specialists and ensure they are performing their role according to defined KPI’s targets etc.
    • Ensure Sales processes are managed end-to-end by all sales staff representing your brand/s.
    • Take accountability for the skills/knowledge of all back-office functions and processes including but not limited to: Internal Sales Support, Pre-sales, Procurement, and Logistics.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12
    • An IT Diploma/Degree would be advantageous
    • A minimum of 5 years of Brand Management or Business Development experience in the IT Distribution Industry
    • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff at various levels
    • Creative, solution-driven attitude
    • Be willing to work in an agile environment where changes are frequent, and technologies evolve
    • Experience in business/commercial management (budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, product pricing)

    Technical Product Manager - Dell ISG

    MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    • The Dell Technical Product Manager forms part of the Dell Brand Team and works closely with internal Pre-Sales, Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Dell Technologies stakeholders to manage, enable, and grow the Dell Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) Stock and Sell (SNS) business within First Distribution.
    • The role combines technical pre-sales expertise with product and commercial management, with a strong focus on ensuring stock availability, pricing integrity, vendor programme compliance, and accurate reporting. It also plays a key role in enabling partners across the Dell ISG portfolio.
    • The incumbent is responsible for managing the end-to-end SNS lifecycle, including stock forecasting, technical configuration support, pricing management, vendor engagement, reporting (Zyme), marketing enablement, and escalation management. A solid understanding of Dell Technologies’ Servers, Storage, and Data Protection Solutions (DPS) is essential.
    • In addition, the role supports vendor alignment, partner onboarding, certification compliance, and internal training initiatives, ensuring First Distribution remains fully aligned to Dell programme requirements, performance targets, and reporting standards.

    DELL TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    ISG Stock and Sell Management

    • Manage technical configurations and builds for stock and sell products.
    • Maintain and provide weekly stock forecasting and stock-on-hand reporting.
    • Ensure ISG SNS pricing files are updated and maintained daily.
    • Monitor and assist in achieving Dell vendor quarterly SNS targets.
    • Drive initiatives to promote and accelerate SNS stock sales.
    • Manage vendor and internal funding programmes and promotions.
    • Monitor and manage ETA commitments for all stock and sell orders.
    • Escalate stock constraints, delays, and supply chain issues with Dell.
    • Provide quarterly stocking recommendations, insights, and demand forecasts to the Dell Brand Team.
    • Deliver product updates and enablement training to sales and pre-sales teams.
    • Support logistics and warehouse operations relating to SNS orders.

    Zyme Reporting and Vendor Data Management

    • Produce weekly ISG SNS sell-out reports.
    • Maintain and monitor weekly inventory reporting through Zyme.
    • Manage and resolve reporting discrepancies and errors within Zyme.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of vendor reporting requirements.

    Marketing and Product Enablement

    • Provide technical content, product information, and solution insights to support marketing initiatives.
    • Assist Brand Managers with technical input for campaigns, promotions, and product launches.
    • Support go-to-market activities and vendor-driven marketing programmes.
    • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to internal and external stakeholders.

    Vendor Compliance and Certification Management

    • Maintain required Dell certifications and training requirements in line with annual and quarterly compliance objectives.
    • Ensure compliance with Dell Technologies partner programme requirements.
    • Support SADC certification requirements, including Technical Architect (TA) and Implementation Engineer (IE) certifications.
    • Manage vendor programme compliance activities and monitor accreditation status.
    • Coordinate access to vendor portals and resolve portal-related issues.
    • Communicate vendor programme updates and compliance requirements to relevant stakeholders.

    Vendor Product Alignment and Technical Leadershi

    • Maintain alignment with Dell Lines of Business (LOBs), including:
    • Servers
    • Storage
    • Data Protection Solutions (DPS)
    • Communicate product updates, roadmap changes, and vendor announcements to the business.
    • Deliver technical enablement sessions and product education programmes.
    • Stay informed on Dell product developments and emerging technologies.
    • Act as a subject matter expert for the Dell ISG portfolio.

    Portal and Online Content Management

    • Ensure accurate product content, pricing, and technical information are supplied for publication on FD Online.
    • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to maintain up-to-date online product information.
    • Support product catalogue management and online product visibility.
    • Partner and Business Support
    • Provide technical and operational support to the Dell Brand Team.
    • Assist with customer, reseller, and internal escalations where required.
    • Support operational escalations relating to OSC, Premier Pages, and related Dell systems.
    • Assist with Dell partner programme administration and support.
    • Review and approve new partner registrations within Dell partner programmes.
    • Support partner onboarding activities, including Affinity ID allocations and portal access.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Dell Technologies and reseller partners.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 (Matric) required.
    • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
    • Dell or vendor-related certifications will be advantageous.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT distribution, pre-sales, product management, or vendor management roles.
    • Strong experience with Dell Technologies or similar enterprise infrastructure vendors preferred.
    • Experience in stock management, forecasting, and vendor programme execution required.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong technical knowledge of enterprise infrastructure (Servers, Storage, DPS).
