    Compliance Accountant

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assisting in Body Corporate and Homeowners Associations’ audit journals, audit queries, and trust confirmations
    • Ensuring each Body Corporate and Home Associations have appointed an auditor and audits are done annually
    • Processing bank statements on MRI, such as petty cash accounts, eWallets and savings accounts as well as the reconciliations thereof
    • Payments to SARS. Provisional Taxes, PAYE, UIF, VAT and Income Tax
    • Payment of eWallet and reconciliations
    • Quarterly payments to CSOS and reconciliations
    • Processing of monthly and ad hoc payments
    • Signing off daily, monthly, and ad hoc payments
    • Assisting in Body Corporate and Homeowners Associations yearly budgets, if necessary
    • Allocation corrections
    • Preparing Monthly Management Reports
    • Ensuring that data captured in MRI are valid and correct for suppliers, PAYE and UIF numbers, CSOS numbers and SS and registration numbers
    • Ensuring information on record for the Body Corporate and Homeowners Associations are up to date
    • Ensuring that the Body Corporates and Homeowners Associations comply to applicable laws and regulations
    • Maintaining an effective control to ensure that each Body Corporate and Homeowners Association has a yearly budget, Public Officer has been appointed and details are up to date, yearly AGMs, yearly Income Tax submissions, CSOS annual returns
    • Any other task as determined by the Financial Manager

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Managing of an effective and efficient filing system
    • Being creative in ensuring a proper flow of processes in department
    • To be an effective team player
    • BCom degree or studying towards

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Admin and computer skills
    • Good understanding of Microsoft Office & MRI will be an advantage
    • Punctual execution of administration
    • Good interpersonal & communication skills
    • Creative thinker
    • Good ability to multitask
    • Work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
    • Attention to detail/high degree of accuracy

    Line Manager to Portfolio Assistants

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage email and telephone queries
    • Backup in certain key functions
    • Tasks as required by Senior Operations Manager
    • Leading the Portfolio Assistants
    • Checking of monthly financial statements
    • Processing of leave
    • Assistant to managers
    • Preparation of daily payments
    • Handling of queries on payments
    • Distribute MidCity e-mails
    • Monthly reporting on assistant functions
    • Ad hoc functions as and when required
    • Assist with new appointments

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES

    • Upkeep of master file
    • Management of valuation of schemes
    • E-Wallet management
    • Training of Assistants
    • Assist Portfolio Managers should their assistant not be available
    • Ensuring the continuous flow of operations

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Matric qualification
    • Computer literacy (MS Outlook, Word, Excel & Adobe etc.)
    • Experience in a previous administrative environment
    • Must be deadline driven
    • Must be able to work with people and in a team
    • Problem solver
    • Knowledge and understanding of internal processes and procedures
