    Supervisor Stores

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    Reporting to the Stores Manager, the successful incumbent is to supervise the work in Stores, ensuring quality standards are maintained and complies with environmental and safety regulations at the Richards Bay Mill.

    SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:

    • 3 - 6 years exposure in a stores environment
    • 5 years supervisory experience will be an added advantage
    • Forklift, Turret, Reach and Side loader truck licences
    • Recognition for prior learning will be considered/given

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE:

    • Grade 12 with Maths
    • Trade tested Fitter & Turner / Fitter/ Millwright / Electrician

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage the dayshift & shift teams on stores KPI’s.
    • Maintains morale and discipline of the team
    • Meet all the required quality standards
    • SHEQ: Safety and Health issues, and complies with environmental and safety regulations.
    • Cost: Manage material and people costs.
    • Troubleshoot daily queries and provide customer updates
    • Liaises with team in order to carry out stores work in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Carry out plant inspections and ensure defects are rectified (load notifications accordingly)
    • Assists team with development of his/her based on PDPs
    • Performs relevant administrative duties.
    • Act effectively as a first Line Manager
    • Accurate reporting
    • Short term planning and for annual shuts
    • Promote safety, health and environmental issues
    • Assist with budgets compilations and responsible for budget control
    • Manage time keeping and over time approvals
    • Manage audits (internal & external)
    • Coordinate stock outs for critical spares based on demand
    • Manage VMI & contractors working at stores
    • Managing of cycle counting Updating & Maintain of SOPs and RAs Managing of M-files General
    • Will need to work extended hours when & if the need arises

    • Proven leadership abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a team environment.
    • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
    • Competent in negations for budgets
    • SAP & WHM competent
    • Computer literate ( emails, excel) is essential

    Foreman Mechanical

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    • Reporting to the Section Engineer, the successful incumbent is to ensure a high standard of mechanical maintenance at the Power and Utilities Plant in Merebank Mill. 

    SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:

    • 5 years of experience as a qualified Fitter within a Power Plant and Utilities environment
    • 5 to 7 years of experience in a supervisory role

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE:

    • Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, minimum N4.
    • Trade Tested Artisan.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise effective and safe team functioning for the mechanical activities and ensuring OHS Act compliance.
    • Manpower and material management.
    • Implement team KPI’s that are aligned to the departmental plan.
    • Ensure a high standard of mechanical maintenance and continuous improvement implementation to ensure on-going plant availability.
    • Contractor management.
    • Supervise team risk assessments, safety, team task analysis and quality outputs to ensure team effectiveness and delivery.
    • Provide mechanical team support and advice.
    • Ensure regular team meetings to drive performance and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure weekly and monthly reports on control, installation, commissioning, and planned maintenance.
    • Ensure effective supervision of a competent and motivated team by managing team performance, managing conflict and provide development.
    • Plan schedules for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual shut down maintenance.
    • Ensure planned job compliance.
    • Ensure legal equipment compliance of equipment.
    • Time management
    • Budget and cost management.
    • Ensure Compliance to company policy and procedures.

    JOB COMPETENCIES / ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS

    • Computer literacy: MS Office, SAP knowledge.
    • Good Verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good Interpersonal Skills, patience with leadership skills.
    • Good team player and service orientated.
    • Must be assertive and target driven
