    Senior Product Manager: Investments

    Job Purpose

    • To manage and drive development, implementation, business value measurement and maintenance of key business solutions (juristic investment and transactional product solutions) within the Solutions Innovation area. The solutions must meet business requirements, meet Business Case objectives, and create business value. This requires managing (end to end) the strategy; planning; organising; negotiating; staffing and controlling of all aspects of products, projects, or programmes for the portfolio in ensuring the successful implementation of solutions to realise the business cluster strategy. The role extends beyond onboarding to cover managing the product or solution throughout its life cycle. The Senior Product Manager provides expert advice and counsel to functional/ and non-functional user personnel and project teams on the most complex aspects of integration of product capabilities. Overall management of the commercial banking, juristic liabilities and transactional product business in a sustainable value adding manner by delivering against business commitments inclusive of: Financial, Client, Risk, Internal Audit & Compliance, Stakeholder Obligations, Root Causes, Product Simplification and Digital channel convergence

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop relevant solutions and product offerings (investments and transactional) specifically for Juristic clients informed by research and segment insights; competitive pricing and understanding of client needs.
    • Continuous market exploration to identify product and market opportunities in collaboration with other areas. Find best in class solutions that leverages emerging innovation, technology and latest industry trends to facilitate creation of solutions that solve business problems.
    • Respond efficiently to problems arising by using appropriate problem identification techniques to propose a solution. 
    • Define new (investments and transactional) product initiatives and enhancements to existing products specifically for Juristic clients. 
    • Assist in defining the operational business requirements of the solution (KPI'S, OKR’s, SLA's processes, procedures, and reporting) through translating organisational strategy into functional strategy and assigning accountability to relevant stakeholders.
    • Manage solution performance by monitoring take-up, impact, adherence to business case and KPIs – through Solution Dashboards and Business Case Tracking.
    • Own, proactively manage and prioritise the product roadmaps and backlogs (including capabilities) – Own major feature development and iterate forward.
    • Ensure that product adheres to all compliance, operational risk, security and market conduct standards by following governance processes.
    • Ensure end to end design is aligned to architecture road maps by understanding the landscape and through regular engagement with relevant stakeholders.
    • Leverage emerging innovation to pilot, prototype and incubate new solution.
    • Ensure effective optimisation of systems, processes and technology by doing route cause analysis, taking corrective measurement, and ensuring standards defined per technology regarding integrations are adhered to.
    • Take responsibility for implementation of programme and project governance that aligns to AGILE Methodologies using the SAFE framework, processes and project management disciplines.
    • Effectively manage key stakeholder relationships through active engagement that leads to mutual understanding and agreement on strategic objectives and timelines for delivery. 
    • Effectively manage the delivery of products/ services to the stakeholders by establishing governance forums and by understanding, assessing, and managing escalated risks associated with solutions, products, programmes and projects.

    • Define and agree service level of operational, call centre and investment desk support - including support and maintenance, application health and stability.
    • Ensure optimal team delivery by considering and making amendments to processes, structures, operating models and business plans.
    • Enhance the credibility of the function by reviewing project metrics and meeting with the project managers to give direction to project execution.
    • Influence and/or drive efficient management of budgets (recoveries of staff incl) through responsible budget planning and management of resources. 
    • Identify areas of resource inefficiencies and promote optimisation through promoting multi-skilling and addressing capacity gaps by reviewing and improving work processes. 
    • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals and support business strategies that improve the corporate image by ensuring self, managers and team participation in Nedbank culture building initiatives. 
    • Participate and ensure managers encourage staff to participate and support corporate social responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy.
    • Ensure issues raised in culture survey are addressed and results are improved by ensuring action plans are created.
    • Ensure that items delivered are prioritised according to business value and that necessary Management Information dashboards are implemented to ensure the measurement of value delivered.

    Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

    • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
    • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

    Preferred Qualification

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, BCom IS, Engineering, Digital / Technology / Business Studies.

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 5 - 7 years’ managing and drive development, implementation, business value measurement and maintenance of key business solutions within the Solutions Innovation area. The solutions must meet business requirements, meet Business Case objectives, and create business value. This requires managing (end to end) the strategy; planning; organising; negotiating; staffing and controlling of all aspects of products, projects, or programmes for the portfolio in ensuring the successful implementation of solutions to realise the business cluster strategy.     BI Data Analyst

    Job Purpose

    • The primary undertaking of the role is to leverage data to drive strategic initiatives and improve operational efficiency within the organisation. To understand the business environment and requirements in order to assist in creating and improving systems and processes for analysing data and generating reports; provide useful insights and analytics to stakeholders for operational, tactical and strategic business application, in alignment with Nedbank’s strategic focus.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Work as part of a team of data analysts to improve the management, reporting, usage and processing of data, to ensure the BI teams' ability to respond quickly to business information requests and promote high performance.
    • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement - experience with stakeholder engagement across various levels of management, as the incumbent will work closely with various business units as the BI support partner, eliciting requirements, aligning and delivering data and information relevant to their business units and representation on projects.
    • Contribute to and support key reports, business performance metrics and SAS extracts. Utilise BI capabilities for the optimisation, automation and delivery of a portfolio reports, SAS scripts, and maintenance of reporting tools.
    • Data Analysis, Interpretation and Visualisation – creation and distribution of reports and dashboards. Identify trends and patterns in data for input into actionable business outcomes. Must have extensive knowledge and experience in building data visualisations using tools such as Power BI.
    • Programming / Coding - Ability to use scripting languages such as SAS, SQL, Python or R for data analysis and manipulation, to solve complex business problems and provide insights to enable data driven decision making.
    • Ownership of the pipeline of work - validation of business rules and data outputs on all reporting. Identify and address data anomalies / discrepancies by tracking issues from their origin to the final reports.
    • Strong attention to detail and adherence to data governance principles like the documentation of the reporting framework.
    • Development of new and ad-hoc analytics and reports, as well as enhancements in Power BI.

    • 8 years relevant experience of which at least 5+ years’ experience is in a business intelligence analyst role. 
    • 4+ years strong technical knowledge and skills in SAS, Power BI, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). 
    • 2+ years’ experience using and building data visualisations in Power BI (including DAX coding)
    • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience using SAS / SQL to extract and manipulate data for reporting and insights.
    • Expertise in analysing data sets, creating data visualisations and quantitative analysis.
    • Experience in other data visualisation tools and working with data on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure is advantageous.
    • Experienced in data analytics and reporting, data quality and data-storytelling skills.
