    Advanced Analytics Audit Analyst

    The Advanced Analytics Audit Analyst is responsible for ensuring that RetailNext’s most advanced analytics stores are properly set up and collecting accurate data. These Advanced Analytics stores are made up of retailers from large, traditional brands to digital natives looking to understand their shoppers’ behavior and optimize their consumer experience. Unlike traditional surveying and observation, we use big data to give visibility to the in-store shopping experience that was traditionally only available in e-commerce. 

    The person who fills this role will be working within the RetailNext software system to test and provide feedback on Advanced Analytics stores to ensure we are able to capture the most accurate data possible for our customers. This position is based in our Cape Town South Africa office.

    Responsibilities

    • Auditing and optimizing RetailNext full-path analytics store configurations, sensors and analytics zones, ensuring that our technology is properly collecting data in each of the stores we install our product
    • Creating and auditing analytic zones according to agreed upon floor plans from customers
    • Upload and audit product location style data, to ensure sales data is accurately tied to analytic zone performance
    • Identifying and working with Engineering team to resolve escalation issues as needed while keeping within audit timelines
    • Documenting of results for analysis and improvements in Jira, and communicating current status and timelines to Audit manager and Analyst team
    • Work closely with Retail Engagement Managers and other cross-functional teams to ensure the success of RetailNext’s lab projects

    Insights Analyst

    As the demand for advanced analytics continues to grow at a rapid pace, we are seeking an Insights Analyst who can help the team and other key cross-functional teams create and disseminate foundational insights projects.

    Responsibilities:

    Be a Data Expert

    • A sharp, critical thinker who follows questions and challenges through to the end, and suggests further avenues of exploration to fully uncover insights
    • Have a strong ability to visualize how our data represents shoppers moving through spaces, and to use the best methodology to draw out the right answer, or develop new methodologies as needed
    • Identifying and surfacing challenges in the data or timelines to the Analytics Lead and Consulting team, and providing thoughtful solutions

    Project Work

    • Be a technical counterpart to Consulting team, translating pre-defined project specifications into accurate, clear and properly formatted outputs within established timelines
    • Apply expertise in quantitative analysis and data visualization to surface any potential challenges with data, project scope or timelines
    • Attend meetings with the Consulting and Retail Engagement Manager teams as needed to understand their needs and explain results, methodologies etc.

    Qualifications:

    • 4+ years experience in analytics & insights, and presenting findings to cross-functional teams and clients
    • 2+ years of experience in analyzing large data sets with R, Python, or other programming languages.
    • Knowledge in visualizing insights with Tableau or other visualization tools a plus 
    • Interpersonal experience and experience building collaborative relationships with the development and execution of strategies/initiatives
    • Strong, critical thinker who can work independently and is comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint required
