    Actuarial Manager

    Job Purpose    
    To manage the pricing and product development to ensure the financial stability of the Company. The Pricing Analyst will analyse data for pricing, product development and product enhancement.

    Formal Qualifications    
    •    BSc/BCom (Mathematics/Mathematical Statistics/Actuarial Science).  
    •    Progress with actuarial exams would be beneficial. Completed Foundation and Intermediate Technical subjects.

    Working Requirements and Knowledge    
    •    Experience in managing actuarial teams.
    •    A minimum of 1 year in a management role.
    •    Pricing or product development in long-term insurance  
    •    Experience investigations
    •    Building and maintaining pricing models
    •    MSOffice (advanced Excel knowledge), VBA and SQL
    •    IFRS17 knowledge/experience is advantageous
     
    Key Responsibilities     
    •    Managing the Pricing and Product Development team
    •    Managing the Reporting and Data analytics team
    •    Developing and maintaining pricing models
    •    Developing, maintaining and enhancement of risk products and policy terms
    •    Developing pricing bases for all risk products
    •    Support Sales in implementing renewals
    •    Reviewing rates on existing business
    •    Monitoring of claims ratios and profitability of Safrican’s schemes
    •    Performing the various experience investigations to inform the pricing and embedded value bases (incl. expense and mortality investigations and Analysis of Surplus)
    •    Maintaining the profitability of the standard products
    •    Support the Senior Actuarial Manager in preparing Board Reports
    •    Ad-hoc projects including internal and external audits
    •    Provide technical oversight and support, for risk products to Sales, Finance and other service areas

    IT Support Coordinator

    What will you do?

    Please note: Shortlisting will commence from 16 January 2022.

    The role is for an intern-level candidate who is interested in starting a career in IT. The role includes participation in IT system support and project administration.

    I.T Support Responsibilities
    •    Reporting to the SCI Support Manager
    •    Responsible for monitoring the SCI Ticket Management System and the Support Inbox where SCI staff and other 3rd party support desks log incidents and work requests for the SCI IT team respectively.
    •    Assigning / Re-assigning / Escalating requests and incidents received by the business.
    •    Collaborating with all 3rd party resolver teams to ensure the timeous resolution of incidents and requests
    •    Responsible for SCI Support user administration including onboarding of new starters and off boarding of leavers.
    •    Responsible for distributing incidents and work requests, monitoring progress and providing feedback to business users until issues are resolved.
    •    Responsible for filing and archiving SCI support documents.
    •    Contributing to the improvement of the SCI IT Support Services through quality assessment, initiative and innovation.
    •    First Time Fix Resolution of issues reported to the service desk.
    •    Monitoring the SLA performance of 3rd party service providers and escalating SLA breaches and/or concerns to management.
    •    Identify and neutralise potential risks and challenges within the IT support service.
    •    Responsible for all audit related administration tasks.
    •    Creating relevant business continuity & training documentation.
    •    Service desk monthly reporting
    Incident Management
    •    Responsible for the management of all technology disruptions to the business through the application of the ITIL Framework and ensuring minimal downtime to the business.
    •    Responsible for ensuring effective communication to manage customer expectations.
    •    Tracking of Major Incidents
    •    Creating Incident Reports and ensuring incident reports are received from 3rd party resolvers
    •    Maintaining the I.T knowledge base
    Silica Central User Administration
    •    Responsible for user admin (New users, password reset, user role allocation and user off-boarding) on the Silica Central System and providing feedback to users.
    Silica Service Desk
    •    Responsible for logging AWD user admin requests (New users, password reset, user role allocation and user off-boarding) with Silica Service desks and monitoring and driving to conclusion.
    •    Responsible for logging incidents and work requests with Silica Service desks and monitoring and driving to conclusion 
    •    Responsible for preparing Silica incident reports
    ITISS Service Desk & SRS’s
    •    Responsible for providing feedback to the ITISS Service Desk for incidents originating at ITISS.
    •    Responsible for logging ITISS Service Requests (SRS’s) and monitoring and driving to conclusion.
    •    Responsible for keeping an asset register of local hardware and coordinating with ITISS to align asset registers.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    Minimum Requirements
    •    Relevant tertiary qualification. (e.g. Information Systems)
    •    2-4 years IT Support related experience will be beneficial.

    Technical Competencies
    •    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite in general.
    •    Good understanding of the traditional software development & support lifecycle.
    •    Data analysis and reporting skills and experience will be beneficial

    Senior Financial Manager

    What will you do?

    The successful candidate will report to the Sanlam Emerging Markets Head of Statutory Reporting and responsibilities will include, amongst others, the following:
    •    Review and analysis of foreign subsidiary financial results in HFM (Hyperion financial management) for monthly reporting, year-end close process and interim review process
    •    Key involvement in the implementation of IFRS 17 within the general insurance sub-cluster
    •    Involvement in the budgeting process and the forecasting 5-year plans
    •    Preparation of Sanlam monthly financial reports and commentary
    •    Overall responsibility for the general insurance sub-cluster financial consolidation including review of consolidated note disclosures for the year-end close process and interim review process
    •    Provide end to end financial management support to businesses outside of South Africa
    •    Review of holding company financial statements in terms of IFRS
    •    Ensure effective controls and procedures are in place and focus on process improvements to drive automation and new ways of working
    •    Interactions with the external auditors
    •    Manage, develop and build a culture of a high-performance teaming
     

    What will make you successful in this role?

    Qualification and Experience

    •    Qualified CA(SA) with 5 to 7 years post qualification experience;
    •    Relevant experience in a similar role within financial services and/or insurance industry
     

    Knowledge and Skills

    •    Good working knowledge of IFRS standards and group consolidations
    •    HFM experience will be an advantage
    •    Ability to speak French will be an advantage
    •    Experience in the emerging markets environment will be an advantage
    •    Process management skills (able to review existing processes and procedures, making recommendations for improvement, and implement them operationally)

    Financial Assistant - Fixed term contract (9 months)

    What will you do?
