    Senior Grain Grader

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensures that grain materials are correctly and accurately sampled and graded through close supervision, follow-up, and control.
    • Ensures that product quality is maintained throughout storage timeframe of grain through close monitoring, analysing information/reports, and by making timeous decisions.
    • Ensures the accurate and timely dispatching of grain through close supervision.
    • Ensure correct and safe fumigation of grain when necessary.
    • Ensures that the silo premises are clean, neat, tidy and without insect infestation through timeous allocation of tasks, follow-up and close supervision.
    • Ensures that all mechanical equipment is regularly serviced and maintained on a consistent basis by initiating maintenance/service requests via line supervisor.
    • Ensures that loss control is implemented and adhered to effectively and accurately through hands-on supervision and follow-up.
    • Engages in informal discussions with general working staff to bring about improvements in work standards and attitude.
    • Evaluates levels of competence and assists with on-the-job training when and as necessary.
    • Ensure Compliance to Health & Safety Regulations.
    • Assists with general office administration.

    Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate.
    • All relevant grading certificates.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in grain handling and grading.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and accountability in all aspects of the job.

    Tractor Technician

    Responsibilities: 

    • Perform electronical and mechanical diagnostic tests on tractors to identify faults and issues.
    • Repair or replace faulty parts, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic systems.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including changing oil, filters, and belts, lubricating parts, and adjusting engine components.
    • Performs additional duties and special projects as needed or directed
    • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities performed on each tractor.
    • Communicate with customers to explain repairs and maintenance required on their equipment.
    • Provide recommendations for regular maintenance and inspections to prevent future breakdowns and how to operate tractors safely and effectively.
    • Provide guidance on how to identify and respond to potential problems.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned:
    • Assist with other tasks such as inventory management, cleaning and organising the workshop, and training new technicians.
    • Attend training sessions and workshops to stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends.

    Requirements

    • Completed Trade Test Certificate (Tractor, Motor or Diesel)
    • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with tractors or agricultural equipment.
    • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in tractors.

     Define Financial and Operational strategy

    • Develop and execute processes to support existing and new strategies to ensure the sustainability of JDI.

    • Continuously assess and enhance reporting tools for relevancy and effectiveness.

    Manage Relationships, Systems and Personnel matters

    • Performance Management: Set targets and goals to all business units and manage the outcomes in line with the strategy.
    • General HR Functions (including contracts, management of policies and procedures, pension fund inputs and management, disciplinary code and actions, Renumeration calculations, etc.)
    • General IT Functions.
    • Ensure compliance to legislation (This position also holds the Compliance Officer appointment and Director of the company)
    • Stakeholder relationships (Auditors, Lawyers, other services suppliers, etc).

    Requirements

    • Professional certifications as a Chartered Accountant (CA).
    • At least 5 years’ experience in financial and business management.
    • Appropriate experience in the agricultural sector and “Equip” accounting system will be beneficial.

    Description

    • Senwes, a leading agricultural company, is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our Engineering and Property Assets Department.
    • The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across Senwes agricultural facilities through effective project management, creative thinking, and problem solving.
    • In this position, you will be responsible for:
    • Conducting inspections of electrical systems, including panels, motors, wiring, and equipment, to identify faults and improve efficiency.
    • Managing electrical repairs and calibration by replacing faulty components, testing equipment, and maintaining records.
    • Designing low voltage distribution, lighting, and industrial electrical systems while working with suppliers and contractors.
    • Implementing preventive maintenance plans, monitoring equipment performance, and addressing potential breakdowns.
    • Assisting with electrical projects through technical specifications, cost estimates, timelines, and contractor coordination.
    • Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards through risk assessments, procedures, and staff training.

    Requirements

    • B.Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant Diploma.
    • At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in an industrial, agricultural, mining, or consulting engineering environment for B.Tech candidates, or 4–5 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar technical electrical role for Diploma candidates.
    • Previous experience working as an Electrical Technologist will be advantageous.

    Control and Instrumentation Technician

    In this position, you will be responsible for: 

    • Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and control system faults to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency. 
    • Diagnosing and resolving faults in control systems, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation equipment using diagnostic tools and technical documentation. 
    • Performing emergency repairs on critical systems and field instruments, including temperature, pressure, and flow sensors. 
    • Conducting routine inspections, calibrations, and preventive maintenance on instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 
    • Developing and following maintenance schedules for key assets, including sensors, actuators, and control loops.

    • Assisting with system upgrades, modifications, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and automation performance. 
    • Participating in the design, commissioning, testing, and implementation of new control and instrumentation projects. 
    • Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, maintenance records, calibration reports, and technical documentation for control systems and instrumentation. 
    • Collaborating with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support automation solutions, continuous improvement initiatives, and safe working practices. 

    Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate. 
    • Candidates with Control and Instrumentation certifications and/or an Electrical Trade Test will receive preference. 
    • At least 2 years’ experience in control system integration, PLC programming, and SCADA programming and development.
