    Principal Electrical Engineer

    • Ensure for all projects at the commencement of each stage that the full briefing documentation has been received and reviewed for completeness and handovers have been conducted
    • Provide technical leadership and support to the engineering teams undertaking all Electrical Engineering packages
    • You are responsible for ensuring the detailed design is delivered to the required quality and industry best practice, which includes but not limited to:
      • The preparation of design documents including calculation packages
      • Reports
      • Presentations
      • Most importantly - strict adherence to the specifications of Middle East codes and standards.
    • Responsible for ensuring quality is consistently achieved through the regular monitoring and review of work, which includes but not limited to;
      • Reviewing design work carried out by the team is in line project specific requirements and SSH Standards
    • Critically evaluate, review and provide recommendations for improvements for all aspects of the technical design processes
    • Provide mitigation strategies and enhancements to drive continuous improvement processes.
    • Support project leads in the leadership of technical interfaces and coordination of design across multidisciplinary interfaces and at a project level
    • Lead and partake in providing support, guidance, mentoring of individuals and the development of programmes that enhance the knowledge and capability of the local workforce, towards the delivery of Middle East project.
    • Develop and maintain relationships within the discipline, across the GCC design teams and Senior leadership towards the positive collaboration of project delivery teams.
    • Overview all work stage budgets for projects, through the detailed monitoring and forecasting of resource demands. Deliver work packages and ensure project delivery is in budget and provide mitigation strategies to address potential budget issues.
    • Attend all design team meetings, briefing sessions and project reviews as required.
    • Travel to any of our GCC offices as needed for the project and determined by your line manager.
    • Lead risk management throughout the project, ensuring that both GCC technical and commercial risks are identified, mitigation strategies are put in place as discussed and agreed with the Discipline Lead of MEP as necessary.

    What do I need to be considered for this position?

    • A recognised BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
    • Minimum of 20+ years of professional experience
    • Significant experience of delivering major, high-end building project within the Middle East
    • A professional registration is an advantage
    • Ability to demonstrate strong technical knowledge of Electrical Engineering
    • Technical expertise and experience of relevant local GCC design standards and codes to include, specifically, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates
    • Technical expertise and experience of European/US-based design codes/standards and Statutory Regulations.
    • Proven track record in leading Project delivery and people towards the delivery of major Middle East Building projects
    • Excellent planning, time management and communication skills.

    • Technical expertise and experience of relevant local GCC design standards and codes to include, specifically, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates
    • Technical expertise and experience of European/US-based design codes/standards and Statutory Regulations.
    • Proven track record in leading Project delivery and people towards the delivery of major Middle East Building projects
    • Excellent planning, time management and communication skills.

    Lead Engineer - wet services

    • To provide high level of technical design engineering services to the team on multiple projects
    •  Coordinate and lead the assigned team of Engineers and Technicians on a day basis and ensure that design excellence is achieved throughout.
    •  Develop a through design philosophy, effectively contributing to the inception and the development of a project.
    •  Lead the design work ensuring project objectives are met, design instructions are implemented and delivery is achieved within the set time and budget.
    •  Responsible for the correctness, accuracy and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation.
    •  Responsible for the integrated design delivery of projects throughout the entire project life cycle.
    •  Coordinate and develop responses to review comments, tender queries, contractor's queries, etc.
    •  Responsible for BIM integration and development of innovative working methodologies.
    •  Responsible for the preparation and compilation of design presentations and design reports.
    •  Take initiatives to develop design manuals, standard design documents, presentations, etc. to increase efficiencies, knowledge and awareness across the wider architectural community.

    Qualities & Skills

    •  Developed Engineering Design skills and understanding of the design process and interfaces between design disciplines.
    •  Extensive project experience.
    •  Flexibility of attitude towards company objectives.
    •  Cordial relationships with clients and stakeholders.
    •  Understanding of commercial management of projects.
    •  Understanding of scope definition and scope interface.
    •  Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, word processing and presentation programs.
    •  Detailed knowledge of local/ regional standards, policies, codes and procedures and ability to transmit the same to others.
    •  Full knowledge of Statutory Authorities requirements, knowledge of codes, regulations and submission requirements.
    •  Developed knowledge of Health & Safety Principles.
    •  Developed knowledge of Sustainable Design principles.
    •  Ability and will to mentor and provide support to junior staff members and spread knowledge across the wider architectural and engineering community.
    •  Ability and will to update knowledge.
    •  Excellent command of English (written and spoken). Knowledge of other languages is an added value
