Sales

• Develop a sales target and execution plan.
• Identify and establish relationships with key contacts.

Account planning and execution 

• Networking within the industry

Administration

• Negotiating any additional terms in the supply of services

Reporting and communication

• Building relationships throughout business levels to maximise depth of awareness of Teraco and create strategic relationships

Requirements

SKILLS REQUIREMENT

• An innate ability to understand unique industry requirements.
• Experience in ICT, specifically cloud, networks, and IT services.
• An established and proven network of contacts in the ICT industry with an understanding of the industry’s unique workings.
• Ability to identify and understand prospective client colocation needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the business, including at CIO/CTO, C-Suite, and board level.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• To successfully administer the creditors process by ensuring the correct approvals are received from the business prior to processing invoices for payment
• Monitor the finance payables email account and distribute all supplier invoices to the relevant business units for approval 
• Ensure supplier invoices have a valid PO and that correct approvals are obtained
• Capture supplier invoices in the accounting system
• Reconcile supplier accounts to statement
• Prepare payment files and load onto the bank
• Capturing cashbooks & updating bank allocations
• Price checking and creating purchase orders in the accounting system
• To assist in administering the supplier review process
• Engage with suppliers to collect updated BBBEE certificates on an annual basis
• Maintain accurate BBBEE information in Ozone
• To complete all month end processes within agreed timeframes
• Prepare and process ad hoc month end journals
• Prepare monthly audit file with all balance sheet recons
• To assist other finance staff and business with ad hoc queries
• Prompt response to and resolution of queries as per agreed OLAs
• To act as a backup for other Finance staff members
• Implement best practices, standards and procedures in all accounting functions and activities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This role will form part of the data center design team and report to the Lead Design Engineer while supporting the data center operational team where required. As a Data Center Electrical Engineer, this role is involved in the development of electrical infrastructure - from concept designs and design approvals to construction projects and major modification and upgrade of existing infrastructure. Site installation and commissioning needs to be verified by the electrical engineer before the project is handed over to the operational team.

OBJECTIVES

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Data Centre Projects

•  Collaborate with the data center team to understand, develop and approve the data center electrical designs for new data center construction and system enhancement projects. 
•  Designs will include MV and LV reticulation, Generator systems, UPS systems, Rectifier systems and distribution to client cabinets.
•  Review and approve basis of design documents, capacity calculations and single line diagrams.
•  Review and approve all commissioning and system testing strategies for each project.
•  Constant enhancement of electrical systems to ensure high level of efficiency.
•  Infrastructure design, implementation and testing to deliver a concurrently maintainable, cost effective solution supporting 99.999% electrical uptime.
•  Conduct working methods to ensure all SLA and MSA’s are achieved.
•  Ensure all parts of the designs can be monitored and connected back to the BMS system for overall system monitoring and management.
•  Review, approve and provide all hand over documentation to the Data Center operations team
•  Review and approve all electrical maintenance procedures before handed over to the operations team.
•  Create safe work procedures for all electrical maintenance to be done on all systems.
•  Ensure applicable planned and corrective maintenance is achievable in accordance to ensure customer MSA’s and SLA’s are achieved
•  Provide training to the operational team on the design and operation principles of the electrical systems.
•  H&S monitoring and corrective action to meet statutory compliance, SLAs and good business practice
•  Implement company and departmental policies, processes and work instructions as per the agreed quality and timeline/ RFS
•  Review, approve and provide all hand over documentation to the Data Centre operations team.
•  Participate in L1-L6 commissioning and ensure design is as per design set out in L0. 

Compliance

•  Maintain compliance in accordance to all relative policies and procedures
•  Support the HR department in achieving the organization developmental plan deliverables within agreed timelines
•  Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement)
•  H&S monitoring and corrective action to meet statutory compliance, SLAs and good business practice
•  Implement company and departmental policies, processes and work instructions as per the agreed quality and timeline/ RFS
•  Conduct working methods to maintain agreed PUE levels
•  Task finalization and report accurately, as per agreed format, quality and within the agreed timelines
•  Maintain ISO 14001 and 50001 certification, and drive action plans & reporting to achieve the objectives applicable to their respective site

Data Centre Ethics

•  Ensure compliance is maintained incorporating industry best practices

Data Centre Operations

•  Review and approve all electrical maintenance procedures.
•  Create safe work procedures for all electrical maintenance to be done on all systems.
•  Ensure applicable planned and corrective maintenance is managed in accordance to ensure customer MSA's and SLA's are achieved.
•  Ensure all maintenance and systems complies to local legislation and standards.
•  Provide training to the operational team on the design and operation principles of the electrical systems.

Critical System Management 

•  Conduct working methods to maintain agreed PUE levels
•  Task finalization and report accurately, as per agreed format, quality and within the agreed timelines 
•  Provide national technical support to operational data centres

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

•  Degree in Electrical Engineering or 7 years experience in designing mission critical electrical infrastructure
•  Minimum 5 years relevant design experience.
•  Minimum 5 years relevant plant operation experience.
•  Extensive knowledge on Data Centre environments and critical infrastructure systems.
•  Extensive data centre design knowledge.
•  Registration with the Electrical engineering council of South Africa will be an advantage.
•  Experience with ASHRAE commissioning process 

SKILLS REQUIREMENT

•  Excellent technical design and calculation abilities.
•  Knowledge of mechanical, control, fire and BMS systems will be an advantage.
