    Junior Research Fellow

    Requirements for the position:
    • A Master’s degree in Economics or a closely related discipline.
    • At least two years’ work experience doing relevant quantitative or qualitative research work in Economics or a closely related discipline.
    • Demonstrated interest in at least one of the following fields: labour markets, development economics, poverty, inequality, and/or social policy, human capital/education.
    • Strong analytical skills relating to quantitative and/or qualitative data.
    • Good working knowledge of STATA, R or a similar statistical package.
    • At least one academic research output, in the form of a research report, a peer reviewed journal publication, a working paper, or a submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
    • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
    The following will be advantageous:
    • Ability to communicate academic research to varying audiences
    • Published articles in accredited journals.
    Responsibilities include:
    • Original empirical research including data analysis and report writing.
    • Research dissemination in the form of presentations and policy briefs.

    PART-TIME LECTURER: Undergraduate Education

    Requirements:
    ● HPCSA registered independent medical practitioner OR SA Nursing Council registered advanced/senior midwife

    LECTURER: Physiotherapy

    Deputy Dean: Research

    Requirements for the position:
    • A PhD in a relevant discipline OR clinical professional qualifications with significant research and fundraising portfolio. The latter candidates would require postgraduate and/or specialist qualification.
    • Proven academic and research stature, with eligibility for appointment at Full or Associate Professorial level.

The post is envisaged to be a full-time appointment with appropriate allowances for personal research. Appointment to this position is based on a five-year contract, which is subject to an annual performance review against agreed objectives. The contract is renewable subject to a prescribed performance review.

    Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor

    Requirements:
    • University degree in statistics or biostatistics, with doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely-related discipline
    • Demonstrated experience and ability to teach statistics to non-statistical audiences
    • Demonstrated experience applying statistical methods in collaboration with researchers in the health sciences
    • Demonstrated experience in the following statistical techniques: repeated measures analyses; survival methods and longitudinal analyses; and/or design and analysis of clinical trials

    Lecturer/Senior Lecturer: Pure Mathematics
