    Agronomist (Nelspruit)

    Responsibilities
    Agronomic Support

    • Integrating specialized knowledge of Plant Nutrition, Crop production and Soil Science to pro-actively act on market needs and technical advances.
    • Provide excellent plant nutritional service and support to sales force and customers to ensure optimum crop health and production in the targeted crop segments.
    • Support sales force and customers with Fertilizer recommendations and crop advice.
    • Do the plant nutritional recommendations in terms of products, quantities, application and timing based on soil analysis and according to industry norms and Yara guidelines.
    • Farm visits and field inspections to customers in his designated area.
    • Attend agricultural/farmer’s days/events and give technical inputs/presentations.
    • Develop the technical abilities of the sales force (Agronomic training).
    • Support customers and sales with water management issues.

    Marketing and Operational Support

    • Align and prioritize activities with the local Yara commercial strategy.
    • Communication and synergy with local commercial management regarding designated area’s commercial goals.
    • Communication and synergy with local operational/general management regarding operational/general issues.
    • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships and –service (internal and external).
    • Marketing/promoting of Yara’s differentiated products and supporting sales force to increase sales of these products.
    • Marketing/promoting of Yara OPP products (YaraMila, Yara Vita, Yara Liva and Yara Rega) and supporting sales force to increase sales of these products.
    • Marketing/promoting the use of Yara Tools among sales force and customers. (AllFarm, N-tester, Check-it, Tank mix etc).
    • Use knowledge of plant nutrition as well as company’s products to produce and update product manuals, promotional articles and other technical promotional material (e.g. crop leaflets).
    • Market and promote new products and concepts.
    • Investigate Customer complaints/claims and produce a technical report according to internal Yara guidelines and management’s requests.

    Profile

    • B.Sc. Agric. degree with majors in relevant disciplines (Agronomy/Horticulture/Soil Science)-Postgraduate qualification will be beneficial/recommended.
    • Good understanding of geographic information system (GIS) technology and spatial data
    • Firm knowledge of fertigation concepts
    • Registered Professional Natural Scientist.
    • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in similar role/environment.
    • Adequate English and Afrikaans language skills are essential.

    Finance Specialist - Johannesburg

    About the Unit

    Based in Sandton, Johannesburg, Yara Africa Fertilizer (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant Africa, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations in Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role requires a reliable and organized individual who can work effectively to meet deadlines and contribute to the overall financial stability of our organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Managing the order book from units
    • Track and analysis SGA
    • Track and analysis CRC
    • Track, analysis and improve Stock Ageing
    • Track, analysis and improve Debtors Ageing
    • Monthly ICFR Recons
    • Manage all monthly Statutory documents from units.
    • Manage and present all Midmonth Debtors call with units.
    • Manage and track CAPEX for all units in Africa.
    • Work with units to complete HFM Z7 form, analysis and improve.
    • Asset tagging
    • Units Budget Upload
    • Assist units with External audits

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Prepare and analyse financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.
    • Reconcile financial discrepancies and resolve any accounting issues or irregularities.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and customer payments.
    • Maintain and update accounting records and financial documentation, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
    • Conduct periodic audits to verify financial information, identify risks, and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary adjustments in accounting processes.
    • Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are preferred.
    • Proven experience as an Accountant, with at least 3-5 years of accounting experience.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them effectively.
    • Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications (e.g., MS Excel).
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management and analysis.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
    • Advanced proficiency in financial reporting and financial statement analysis.

    Maintenance Manager - Durban

    Responsibilities

    • To manage the maintenance function and lead the workshop teams in support of enabling a safe, efficient production environment. Improve plant reliability, manage all planned and unplanned maintenance work.
    •  
    • Create maintenance strategy. Effectively lead, control and manage the maintenance team. Oversee and performance manage all artisan work.
    • Diagnose plant and equipment problems (fault finding) and identify opportunities to modify, upgrade, improve or replace equipment and spare parts, as part of maintenance strategy.
    • Ensure the improvement of plant uptime.
    • Develop and adhere to a planned maintenance schedule. Implement and manage a preventative maintenance system.
    • Ensure the maintenance on equipment and machinery is executed within prescribed budgetary and statutory requirements.
    • Contribute to the development and control of departmental budget.
    • Contribute to lean manufacturing principles in accordance with Yara standards.
    • Contractor and internal stakeholder management on site.
    • Implementation and upkeep of all engineering related systems for e.g.  ISO standards, HOPS, TOPS, HAZOPS
    • Preforming quality checks on all incoming fabrications of parts and spares to ensure compliance with technical specifications and drawings.
    • Enforce systematic inspections. Perform inspections and identify potential risks.  Follow up on deviations identified; take necessary action and feedback information to relevant stakeholders. 

    Profile

    • Minimum Engineering Degree, B-tech Engineering or Honors Level. 
    • Preference to Mechanical Engineering backgrounds, with a background in industrial, Chemical manufacturing. 
    • Plant maintenance experience at management level (Managing Teams and Managing Department) is a must. 
    • High level of safety knowledge and engineering laws. GCC preferred.
