    Professional Nurse - Johannesburg

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Transport and Logistics

    • Ensure safe and secure transit to and from outreach sites and offices. Responsible for managing the mobile clinic or work vehicle.
    • Maintain fuel, mileage, and maintenance records as instructed by Project manager, site Coordinator/ Administrator.
    • Ensure all field equipment is loaded and unloaded each shift (chairs, tents, generators, etc.).
    • Ensure all the items in the vehicle are handled correctly and you should report all the damages that occurred. 
    • Follow all the rules/regulations of the road relating to the National Road Traffic Act of South Africa and as per Anova vehicle SOP and safety requirements.
    • Ensure that you keep up to date with Anova’s vehicle policy.
    • Responsible for driving yourself and the team to the sites of work as and when required, and you should adhere to the Anova vehicle management policy.
    • Submit weekly vehicle inspection checklist to the project administrator and provide a written report in case of any incident or accident to the vehicle.

    Outreach support work

    • Provide an integrated, holistic client centred HTS with support.
    • Conduct HTS as per the National HIV Counselling and Testing policy/guidelines.
    • Ensure all HIV positive diagnosed clients are navigated to the nearest facilities.
    • Ensure newly diagnosed positive client is initiated on ART.
    • Ensure IQC is done and recorded as per SOP.
    • Ensure compliance to HTS, waste management and infection control guidelines and policies.
    • Encourage PWUDs to seek health care, including HCT and STI screenings.
    • Ensure that there are adequate HTS supplies for outreach.
    • Ensure that there is no misuse of company resources.
    • Ensure testing supplies are stored corrected in the field.
    • Ensure that you always use a cooler box to collect and store your HTS supplies.
    • Support the professional nurse with supply management of the mobile clinic contents.

    Administration support work

    • All client’s data completed correctly and submitted daily.
    • Record keeping into DoH HTS register.
    • High quality HTS data reported daily.
    • Data queries attended to within 24 hours.
    • Monitoring HTS data and ensuring targets are met.
    • Delegated administration chores done, as required.
    • Professional conduct maintained at work as per applicable policies.
    • Develop strong relationships with health facilities in implementing district to ensure linkage to care for referred PWID.
    • Submit timesheets timely.
    • Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

     Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • A degree or diploma qualification as a Professional Nurse.
    • Registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
    • NIMART (Nurse Initiated Management of ART) qualification (essential).
    • Must have a dispensing license.
    • Valid Drivers’ Licence with PDP
    • At least 3 years’ driving experience.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in an HIV/Aids counselling and testing (HCT) setting.
    • At least 2 years’ experience as a registered nurse with good knowledge of the PWID community and relevant issues.
    • Familiar with latest HIV Management, TB and PMTCT guidelines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

     Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Health System Strengthening

    • Mentoring of staff at facilities in all program areas of CCMT
    • Initiate and organize internal training and workshops based on needs and request
    • Support the Department of Health and collaborate with other NGOs on implementation of CCMT program and community events
    • Ensure implementation of the recent CCMT guidelines and protocols
    • Identify program support needs at facilities and advise accordingly
    • Facilitate integration of different CCMT services

     Monitoring and Skill Development

    • Design development plan, based on identified needs and develop materials together with senior medical officers
    • Support the Department of Health in conducting training 
    • Empower colleagues (e.g. orientation and knowledge transfer)
    • Provide solution on complicated cases together with clinic’s staff including referrals to relevant discipline at different levels of care
    • Mentoring on acute service delivery in incidental cases including dispensing, recording and counselling

     Strengthening internal role and Administration

    • Assist all other Anova projects with planning, organizing and execution of support activities 
    • Assist with quarterly statistics collection
    • Attend sub-district office meetings, all other relevant meetings/ workshops and skills development initiatives

    • Have knowledge and experience in TB/HIV/AIDS management

    Retention Counsellor - Polokwane Rural

    Key duties and responsibilities

    • Follow up newly diagnosed clients for the first 100 days into care
    • Handle customer inquiries telephonically, by email and on various social media platforms relating to HIV health care and sexual health information
    • Schedule and arrange appointments for clients at the clinics
    • Log calls electronically
    • Facilitate the enrolment of clients into EAC using the Patient Adherence Plan together with enrolled nurses and lay counsellors
    • Provide support to Anova outreach teams with linkage to care and ensure that the team reaches the 90-90-90 targets
    • Ensure enrolled nurses report referrals to clinics for further management
    • Form part of a multidisciplinary teams within Anova to promote 90% retention
    • Initiate and organize internal trainings and workshops based on needs and request on tracing processes and systems
    • Verify missed appointment and data collected at DoH sites in the district to ensure its credibility
    • Provide supervised visits with tracing officers in facilities to assist with assessments and linkage to care process
    • Ensure flow of tracing from facilities to call centers and report back to facilities
    • Monitor tracing processes in facilities
    • Consolidate verified weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on time and submit to the line manager
    • Support targeted HTS, Index testing and linkage to care

    Essential qualifications and experience

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Post matric certificate in marketing, customer service or equivalent qualification
    • Previous experience in a customer support role
    • HIV/AIDS training and experience will be added advantage
    • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Ability to communicate in at least 3 official SA languages, including English
    • Ability to work with targets, deadlines and under pressure

    Data Capturer - Molemole Rural

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Capture patient’s information into all database platforms, eg Tier.net and other DoH database applications
    • Carry out data quality assessment and audits with close guidance from M&E officer
    • Conduct monthly data validations using prescribed tools on collected data from DHIS, Tier.net and TB modules/ETR
    • Assist facility data capturers in populating run-chats for DIP elements

    Sub District Manager - Greater Giyani Rural

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Bachelor’s MBChB degree or B. Pharmacy or BCurr with a Postgraduate qualification with Primary Health Care specialty (Nurse Clinician)
    • Minimum 3 years’ post community service clinical experience (for medical doctors) and 8 years for Nurse Clinicians
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a management or senior role within comprehensive HIV/TB programmes

    Community Health Worker - Cape Town

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Physical Care

    • Assist the patient with personal hygiene.
    • Wound care, how to dress a wound using appropriate material.
    • Stoma therapy, catheter care, nail and foot care, tracheotomy care.
    • Observations: temperature pulse and respiration.
    • Be able to assess an emergency situation and provide basic life support and first aid in order to stabilize a patient.
    • Assist patient with mobility, exercise limbs, take patient for walks, assist in and out of bed and to the toilet, have knowledge of motion exercises.
    • Preparation of patient's snacks and meals if necessary.
    • Distribution of food parcels where necessary and if patient's circumstances meet the required criteria.

     Care of Patient’s Environment

    • Make patients bed, replacing with clean bed linen when necessary. 
    • Tidy and clean the patients’ sleeping quarters, disposing of any soiled night clothes and bed linen and washing of these if necessary. 
    • Infection control. 

     Health and Education

    • Educate patient and relatives about caring for the patient at home and resources available.
    • Specialized care of catheters etc.
    • Universal blood precautions.
    • Nutrition: Identify food groups and educate patient/family on planning suitable meals for their needs 

     Referral Criteria

    • Refer patients to health facilities and service providers where necessary.
    • Know the when, why and how of referrals.
    • Reporting of deterioration of patient’s condition to supervisor

     Administration & General Duties

    • Establish a set of records and ensure that they are up to date.
    • Complete the appropriate record forms accurately and promptly ensuring that these are given to the supervisor timeously.
    • Follow all policies and procedures as required by the organization and ensure that all work targets are met.
    • Follow daily work schedule as worked out by the supervisor.
    • Participate in meetings as required as well as attending training courses and workshops related to the nature of the work done.

     Medication

    • Supervision/administration of medication.
    • Collection of prescribed medication (repeat) from the CHC
    • Ensure as far as possible that the patient completes their treatment in the prescribed time given.
    • Report any patient that defaults on treatment immediately to the staff of the CHC.
    • Report any reaction to any medication to the OTL.
    •  Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required 

    • Grade 10-12
    • Homebased carer qualification/certificate
    • Experience working within communities
    • 10-day HIV Counselling Certificate (advantageous)
    • TB/HIV Adherence Counselling Certificate (advantageous)
    • Must have a background knowledge of HAST & NC
