    ​Senior Technician: Ammunition

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Essential: Grade 12
    • Essential: National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) /or Diploma in Explosives Management 
    • Essential: Demolition certification/Blasting ticket 
    • Essential: Driver’s licence (B) PRDP 
    • Added Advantage: Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (Mechanical) or Explosives Management 
    • Essential: 4 – 7 years’ relevant experience  

    CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREA

    The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;

    • Planning and execution of bulk disposal of ammunition and explosives in accordance with the Ammunition & Explosives Technical Manuals. 
    • Oversee the disposal of Unexploded Ordnance on the range (Single items) in accordance with the Ammunition & Explosives Technical Manuals.” 
    • Plan, evaluate and oversee safe ammunition recovery at the impact areas. 
    • Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration on all ammunition related equipment. (Scales, thermometers, torque wrenches, material handling equipment). 
    • Plan and conduct routine inspection on all ammunition in the magazines at required intervals in accordance with the Ammunition & Explosives Technical Manuals.
    • Fabricate/modify and implement non-standard or adapted/new test preparation/ disposal/ assembly techniques/tools (e.g. drilling jigs, furnaces, equipment used in the dismantling tasks). 
    • Sustain current business through providing expertise ballistic and ammunition know how to clients. 
    • Identify and mitigate ammunition related risks. 
    • Plan and execute ammunition dismantling tasks in accordance with the regulations. 
    • Compile Test Instruction for destructive tests according to the Ammunition & Explosives Technical Manuals and client specification. 
    • Attend and provide inputs to Pre-Test meetings and document reviews when required. 
    • Manage test personnel, clients and visitors during test. 
    • Manage changes during the test according to formal change procedures. 
    • Compile Certificate of Service to reflect cost incurred, obtain approval of Certificate of Service from clients. 
    • Ensure conformance to the Business Management System (e.g. SHE, Quality) and regulatory requirements in the execution of duties and may be required to act as internal auditor.

    Manager: Gerotek Training

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Essential: B Degree in Education (preferred)/Human Resources or equivalent to NQF Level 7. 
    • Added advantage: A Post graduate or Business Management Degree 
    • Added advantage: Training certificate as a driver trainer instructor in the traffic department/police/mining industry 
    • Added advantage: Registration with the relevant SETAs as: 
    • An Assessor 
    • Moderator
    • Essential: 5 – 6 years’ experience which must include: 
    • Experience on supervisory/team leader level 
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a Training and development environment 
    • At least 3 years’ experience of working with SETAs and accredited program 
    • Experience as an assessor/facilitator/moderator/instructor in the driver training industry. 

    CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS

    The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;

    • To contribute to the formulation of divisional strategy and implement divisional strategies and plans in support of departmental objectives and in accordance with Armscor Practices and Procedures. 
    • To develop and manage the budget of the division in a cost effective manner. 
    • To manage, develop, maintain and motivate individuals and teams and to build constructive relationships between individuals within the division. 
    • To recruit, interview, select and maintain well qualified staff. 
    • To conduct performance management by setting performance contracts, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to team members. 
    • To contribute to succession planning for all key positions in the division in order to ensure business continuity. 
    • To communicate all relevant information to the team members via divisional meetings and all other relevant forms of communication. 
    • To facilitate effective corporate governance business practices. 
    • To develop, implement and maintain the risk management plan of the division. 
    • To manage and improve the services/products provided to the customer base. 
    • To develop and maintain constructive relationships between stakeholders (internal and external) in order to promote synergy and build a productive business environment. 
    • Implement effective control of the Business Unit’s assets through developing and keeping up-to-date asset registers. 
    • Appoint and manage the contracts of facilitators, assessors and moderators. 
    • Generate income for the business unit in line with the division’s financial objectives, by sourcing clients. 
    • Manage customer satisfaction levels through administering customer satisfaction surveys and implementing improvements 
    • Manage customer satisfaction with the learning programmes. 
    • Anticipating trends and changes in market needs and client objectives/needs and conducting financial forecasting. 
    • Interpret current and potential client requirements. 
    • Conducting Customer satisfaction surveys, analysing the results and implement improvement initiatives. 
    • Manage debtors in line with the division’s objectives. 
    • Manage BBBEE spending in line with the corporate and the divisional objectives. 
    • Conduct quality management by visiting training both onsite and off-site. 
    • Develop training material. 
    • Maintain Gerotek Training Accreditation by obtaining accreditation for Gerotek Learning programmes with the relevant training authorities. 
    • Execute actions according to the Stakeholder Management Plan.

    Chef (Limited Hour Fixed Term Contract)

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • National Diploma: Culinary / Hospitality Management
    • 2 – 3 years of food production in a Hospitality environment

    CRITICAL PEROFORMANCE AREA

    The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;

    • The effective control Cost of Sales, control portions and quantities to be cooked on a daily basis.
    • Monitor inventory to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained
    • Achieve targeted gross profits through effective portion control and wastage limitation.
    • Check quality of raw and cooked food to ensure that standards are met.
    • Continuously demonstrate new cooking techniques and innovation in order to meet industry standard.
    • Supervise, train & coordinate personnel in food preparation area.
    • Coordinate planning, purchasing and communicate with project leaders to ensure smooth operations during events.
