    Supervisor, Operations Kempton Park

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervision of the crossdock operation
    • Planning and dispatching of loads, including allocating Drivers to relevant routes 8T vehicles
    • Vehicle and load tracking
    • Assist  the POD processing as well as Driver debriefing
    • Monitoring Driver overtime costs as well as ensuring vehicles are maintained and serviced in the crossdock
    • Ensuring client’s needs and expectations are consistently met within scope of the SLA
    • Client interaction and issue resolution to ensure client satisfaction
    • Actively managing daily operational performance to consistently achieve performance metric targets
    • Delivering on client and internal requirements
    • Analyze failures with regards to deliveries, client complaints, damages etc to determine root cause and corrective actions
    • Firm and consistent approach to ongoing performance measurement and management of team
    • Resolution of all IR issues in conjunction with HR
    • Coaching and mentoring of team to achieve client objectives
    • Identifying training interventions to close skills gaps in operations

    QUALIFICATIONS  

    • Completed Matric / Grade 12
    • Logistics  Warehouse Management or equivalent qualification an added advantage

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    • Intermediate Excel skills
    • Transport tracking systems exposure

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • At least 3 years logistics experience, specifically focused on Road Transportation and dealing with Superlink Linehauls and 8 Ton vehicles
    • Prior Team Leader or Supervisory exposure
    • Experience in planning and allocation of loads as well as followups and tracking
    • Experience in debriefing of Drivers
    • Experience in monitoring costs and overtime
    • Experience in Driver and Vehicle management
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and multi tasking
    • This role will require working shifts, including night-shift and is non-negotiable

    BASIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE

    • Matric
    • Warehouse and Logistics Diploma or Project Management Diploma or Supplychain Management Diploma or enrolled in any of them.

    • Distribution; Manage the distribution of the clients stock to final destination. Including resources. E.G. Staff, Vehicles etc.
    • Problem Solving: Effective Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving and implementation of Corrective and Preventative Measures;
    • Management: Must be able to do all managerial functions (Planning, Organizing, Leading, Controlling, Monitoring) independently, effectively and reliably;

    • Conducting of facility and equipment inspections and resolving any issues that may arise.

    • Manage daily sufficient man-power is available for each working day.
    • Planning, organising, directing, delegating, controlling and monitoring all aspects of production. Form part of the Health and Safety Team

    Branch Manager, Operations, Road Logistics Polokwane

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Financials – Includes Forecasting, Budgeting and basic understanding of PO system and Journals.
    • Sales, Operational, HR and IR skills are essential.
