    Peer Influencer - Western Cape

    The key performance areas of the role include:

    • Mobilise and recruit adolescent boys and young men into programme activities.
    • Facilitate group sessions, workshops, and community dialogues.
    • Conduct outreach, awareness, and behaviour change activities within communities.
    • Provide referrals and follow-up support for health and social services.
    • Maintain accurate records and submit activity reports.
    • Promote positive health-seeking behaviour and gender equality.

    Requirements

    Required qualifications, skills and experience

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • Experience working with young people and communities will be an advantage.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Passion for community development and youth empowerment.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and travel within communities.
    • Fluent in English and one additional South African language relevant to the programme area.

    • Degree in Social Science, Public Health, or related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing target-driven health or youth programmes.
    • Knowledge of HIV prevention, SRHR, and Gender-Based Violence programmes.
    • Strong leadership, planning, communication, and networking skills.
    • Valid driver’s licence.
    • Fluent in English and one additional South African language.
