    Rotables Coordinator (North West)

    Role Context

    • Adhere to and maintain high safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
    • Review and optimise the management of Rotable components and costs, improving Rotable availability and meeting the KPIs set out by the business.
    • Track and report on all Outwork and Rotables off-site, ensuring full audit traceability with no items outstanding for more than three months.
    • Ensure all Purchase Orders are expedited within the OTIF 95% KPI.
    • Process Purchase Orders within the permissible cycle times as set out in the KPI, not exceeding three days.
    • Always maintain good corporate governance and ethical standards.
    • Compile management reports for Outwork and Rotables.
    • Provide input regarding the implementation of Service Level Agreements for Rotable parts, including Scope of Works and Repair specifications.

    • Manage the logistical requirements for rotable equipment repairs, ensuring suppliers are pre-approved for specific services related to the repair of various types of equipment.
    • Upskill suppliers proactively on TM's quality and procurement requirements by clearly communicating organisational requirements, establishing mutually agreed-upon turnaround times for repairs, and enforcing contractual obligations between TM and its suppliers.
    • Liaise between contractors, suppliers, and the procurement department to create a smooth end-to-end process, from quotation to payment and service delivery, to minimise downtime on mining equipment and associated operations, ultimately leading to improved efficiency and cost savings for the organisation.
    • Review and update rotable practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, and laws by staying abreast of changes in the respective environment to ensure TM remains compliant and avoids unnecessary risks and exposure to fines and other liabilities.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive vetting procedures for suppliers and contractors, specifically within the quality assurance environment, to ensure unsuitable suppliers are excluded before final shortlisting, minimising time delays due to contractor and supplier non-conformance or non-compliance with organisational requirements.
    • Monitor the functionality of critical equipment and instruments by regularly inspecting their operating capacity, identifying any delays or shortages in output, and taking steps to ensure all equipment and instruments are working optimally.
    • Identify quality issues from both materials and process perspectives by scrutinising materials and processes, identifying inaccuracies, misalignments, and inefficiencies, and developing recommendations for corrections.
    • Identify failure trends across various materials and forms of equipment by conducting investigations and analyses of incidents and recommending ways to prevent similar situations in the future.
    • Develop and maintain quality assurance inspection and check sheets for various forms of equipment on the mine, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition before use, including but not limited to supplier verification audits.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    Surface Surveyor - North West

    Role Context

    Compliance, Risk and Safety

    • Conduct daily safety meetings with subordinates and risk assessments prior to any survey work being conducted, to identify and report any substandard conditions.
    • Identify and report on unauthorised usage of surface areas, to ensure adherence to all mine standards procedures and legal requirements.

    Operational Efficiencies

    • Import and export electronic information from other systems to resolve internal data requests in the required format.
    • Stay abreast with latest technological developments to identify and recommend any new technology to optimise mine surveying operations.

    Resource Management

    • Provide input into required changes in resources (financial or non-financial) to enable the achievement of team and/or own objectives.
    • Determine resource needs of the team and/or own area of work to achieve business outcomes.
    • Request and allocate required assets and/or resources for the fulfilment of work objectives to guarantee quality outputs.

    Surveying

    • Use survey data collected by the UAS Surveyor as input into the design of drill patterns.
    • Perform exploration surveys on all exploration boreholes, rehabilitation work, surface accidents in the pit to check the representation of these match actual plans.
    • Provide subject matter expertise during Land Management Programs to address any survey issues identified according to the survey designs.
    • Update the water volumes in the pit, calculating the volume of pools of water, to support production planning.
    • Monitor the construction of new surface structures to ensure no sterilisation of mineral reserves occurs, in an effort to prevent risk to other mining operations.
    • Perform surveys at the Run of mine (ROM) pad and Concentrator processing plant, using Total Station equipment, to determine the volume of the stockpile quantity.
    • Perform in-pit surveys to establish whether surface activities are accurately represented on mining plans.
    • Review and sign-off project milestones and deliverables, providing subject matter expert inputs where applicable, to ensure surface prescribed plans are accurately updated as per regulations.
    • Perform surveys at tailing storage facilities to confirm volumes, design compliance and measure to update freeboard reports, ensuring that the surface prescribed plans are accurately updated as per regulations.
    • Conduct, weekly and monthly aerial surveys and volume measurements, using surveying instruments and technologies, to collect relevant data within the Tharisa Surface Right area.
    • Arrange for ground control points to be installed on planned aerial survey areas, ensuring elevation is accurate.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Chamber of Mines Advanced Certificate in Surveying (NQF6) or National Diploma (NQF6) in Surveying
    • Driving Licence

    Job specific experience:

    • Minimum of between three to five (3-5) years relevant experience
    • Experience using survey instruments, including GPS and Total Station
    • Experience using CAD/Model Maker/Deswik related software is advantageous

    Role Context

    Supply Chain Analyst - North West

    Role Context

    • Monitor and conduct random spot checks on the various processes and inventory stores limits across TM ensuring adherence to the established compliance regulations, stipulated legislation and processes within TM to minimise instances of non-compliance and operational downtime (due to limited stores).
    • Conduct regular audits of existing vendors by scrutinising their adherence to their service level agreements (SLA’s) and contracts mitigating any unnecessary risk as well as initiating the contract cancellation process for vendors that are non-compliant.
    • Monitor and supervise direct reports by allocating work and establishing key performance indicators for the team and tracking their achievement against the established metrics.
    • Coach and mentor individuals in the team by providing guidance on organisational best practice as well as understand individual objectives and align them with that of the organisation’s objectives for mutual growth.
    • Manage and drive the Materials Requestion Process (MRP) by establishing good governance and compliance processes within the Supply Chain function, for the organisation, ultimately to ensure the best products are procured and that the inventory stores are adequately stocked to drive continuous operations.
    • Oversee the coordination of resource and stock purchasing by implementing stock limit indicators across the various inventory stores on the mine to drive proactive and appropriate purchasing of resources for continuous operations on the mine.
    • Manage and negotiate with third party contractors, suppliers and vendors ensuring that optimal products and materials are being acquired whilst minimising operational spend.
    • Collaborate with the key stakeholders on the mine in order to understand their operating requirements and spend, identifying product and quantity requirements and coordinate the ordering and delivery thereof.
    • Monitor the operational year on year spend of the various mining operations by analysing their financial data in order to identify potential areas for cost reduction and changes in suppliers.
    • Identify Supply Chain process inefficiencies and develop recommendations for changes by scrutinising current processes and practices in order to optimise the ways of work within the department.
    • Act as the custodian of the approved supplier’s database striving to drive adherence and compliance across the organisation ensuring that only approved suppliers are utilised.
    • Manage the tender process by establishing best practice within the organisation and managing expectations with the various internal stakeholders to bring about an optimal outcome for both the internal stakeholder and the external vendors.

    Ore Quality Controller - North West

    Role Context

    Compliance, Risk and Safety

    • Conduct risk assessments per shift cycle/rotation, ensuring adherence to mining safety standards and best practices
    • Conduct inspections to identify and report/correct substandard and unsafe conditions, ensuring that drilling areas are set up and safely demarcated

    Data Interpretation and Reporting 

    • Interpret, examine and record geological data collected, to support management decision making timeously

    Ore Sampling and Analysis

    • Contribute to the assessment of geological conditions, by collecting, examining, and identifying samples, according to sampling procedure, to support the gathering of  geological samples and processing at sampling plant/area on a mine site (basic sampling)
    • Conduct face sampling, by sampling the channel width according to sampling procedures to gather ore specimens for analysis
    • Conduct face mapping, by identifying, describing, geological features and mapping the lithologies according to standard operating procedures, to determine quality attributes of ores
    • Co-ordinate ORE material and Quality-Grade control processes in the pit, to optimise ore Blending flow throughput and minimise/control dilution of ore/waste mixing different ore types
    • Provide significant support to Mining Production operations whilst spending time in the pit as required in order to ensure adherence to the business Grade Control requirements as stipulated in the ore handling and sampling procedures
    • Physically measure mining dilution and control through digging of trenches on the ore/waste boundary/contacts, ensuring adherence to loading and material destination plans and reporting.
    • Conduct blast holes/drilled holes spot checks to re-measure and audit compliance to drilling-plan, ensuring holes area drilled to the depth requirement
    • Conduct ore and waste/interburden waste (IBW) loading, by marking geological ore-waste contacts to help determine/establish waste exposing mining-cut in support of the waste digging plan and grade control dig plan implementation
    • Handle ore and continually monitor Stockpile qualities and dilution control, to support Run-of-Mine Material Destination Tracking/Crusher Plants ROM Ore quality management and feed control, line with the Crusher Feed Plan
    • Drill, log and capture test holes, timeously sample handover for processing and laboratory assays according to the requirement
    • Liaise with mining personnel regarding the material destination action plan to control daily stockpile material movement
    • Discard samples remains, including sample plastics, from the geology sampling process area and the laboratory, including on skip bins into the disposing area (stockpiles) according to procedure and per the Geologist’s instructions, to support site rehabilitation

    Quality Assurance and Quality Control

    • Implement the developed protocols for assessing ore quality, ensuring compliance with established Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards
    • Identify deviations and recommend corrective actions, when necessary, to enable the mining production team to proactively address potential issues impacting production quality  
    • Collaborate with operational teams to implement corrective actions and optimise processes to maintain high-quality ore output

    Resource Management

    Auto-Electrician - North West

    Role Contex

    • Implement Auto-Electrical maintenance and operational plans for the achievement of production targets by conducting Auto-Electrical hardware repairs, maintenance and replacements as required to drive the respective functions operational requirements.
    • Actively conduct routine maintenance, installations and repairs by engaging with the respective functions to ensure that all Auto-Electrical needs are tended to, and auto-electrical equipment remains functional.

    • Conduct continuous risk assessments throughout the day by proactively identifying and reporting identified risks within the areas of operation and collaborating with the various departments to support and maintain a safe working environment.
    • Assemble, install, test, and maintain auto-electrical equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools in order to maintain operational requirements and reach daily targets.
    • Inspect Earth Moving Equipment auto-electrical components and systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with the relevant standards.
    • Adhere to specific Risk Management Policy and appropriate Procedures and Standards (Codes of Practice)
    • Implement a proactive approach to all safety protocols by creating awareness of hazards and behaviour to enforce compliance to minimise risk of accidents and injuries within the plant.
