    Technical Assistant

    Duties    

    • Preparing the greenhouses for trials and daily operations.
    • Daily monitoring of tunnels, crops and trials with regular feedback to management.
    • Seedling production for trial planting and ensuring alignment with trial protocols.
    • Preparing plant nutrient mixtures, managing irrigation and fertilisation schedules, and monitoring nutrient use efficiency for various crops according to specifications provided.

    Director Designate: Faculty Management (Job Level 5)

    Duties 

    • Operational excellence: Supporting the establishment of a financially sustainable Faculty through innovative, future-focused supporting mechanisms. Establishing and maintaining a clear financial strategy linking the budget with the Faculty's overall strategy. 
    • Collecting, analysing and maintaining relevant data and management information to advise the Dean and executive about internal and external impacts on financial and operational strategies. 
    • Providing timely and accurate information to key stakeholders and ensuring compliance with the University's policies. Leading the management of effective Faculty administrative operations.
    • Finance management: Managing the annual budget-related responsibilities, including overall financial forecasting, risk analysis, preparation of budgets and allocation of funds.

    Job Requirements        

    • An honours degree in the sciences or applicable related field with at least eight years' experience in a senior management role, or a master's degree with at least four years'  experience in a senior management role, with an honours in a science or related field.
    • A strong track record in financial, human resources, and operational management - preferably within the higher education sector. 
    • A deep understanding of business management theories, practices, and policies. 
    • Proven leadership and supervisory ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, projects, teams and individuals.

    Language Centre Facilitator: isiXhosa

    Duties

    • Presenting isiXhosa language proficiency modules and short courses offered by the Language Centre to students, staff members and members of the public through face-to-face and blended modes of delivery;

    Programme Coordinator

    Duties    
    Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

    • For the global collaboration and capacity strengthening component, the incumbent will play in a key role in coordinating a suite of capacity strengthening activities aimed at co-producing and using pre-clinical and early phase living systematic reviews, simultaneously. The coordinator will identify LMIC postgraduate students and LMIC early- and mid-career researcher volunteers for participation in the project.
    • Organising capacity building activities and meetings for all three programmes (including scheduling and onsite, hybrid, and/or remote meeting logistics as required).

    Teaching and administration

    • Undergraduate (and postgraduate) teaching in physiotherapy in medical and surgical conditions and related subject areas.

    • Master's degree.
    • Experience in teaching (as educator, tutor, or assistant) in medical and surgical AND / OR cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation or related area.
    • Any clinical supervision experience in physiotherapy.
    • At least two years' post-community service clinical experience, predominately in the field.
    • Registered / registrable with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a physiotherapist.
    • Record of appropriate, regular and recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses in the field of physiotherapy in medical and surgical conditions.

    Recommendation    

    • PhD or registered for a PhD.
