    Job Description

    Africa Technology CIB provides technology support to the organisation's corporate and investment banking sectors.  Activities are grouped into three areas, namely Markets, Corporate and Investment Banking. The Prime Services IT team is responsible for development, enhancement and maintenance of all Post Trade vendor and bespoke application suites that fall within the Markets business area.

    Prime Service IT is at the point where it needs to expand on its resourcing due to a number of systems it currently support. Hiring would thus give Prime Service IT team the ability to contribute meaningfully within CIB and moreover and more value to Prime Service business.

    As a .Net Developer / Product Engineer will you be required to:

    • Translate, design, build bespoke applications given a set of requirements

    • Assist business during QA testing, resolving bugs and issues as their being discovered

    • Collaborate with IT/Business for any technical assistance required

    • Diagnose production issues and provide assistance to production support staff (2nd level support)

    • Participate in agile methodologies and practices as agreed within the team

    • Complete any technical documentation impacting the work done

    • Determine the most effective and efficient software design to meet the specifications

    • Ensure work done adheres to quality guidelines and standards for all activities (e.g. naming conventions, code comments) as agreed in the team

    Education and Experience Required

    QA Engineer

    Job Summary

    The Absa Access team within CIB Corporate Technology is looking for a QA Engineer to design automation testing plans and develop automation test scripts for multiple technical products / services (pre, during & post deployment) in both ‘Run & Change’ contexts and align to chosen application testing frameworks & guidelines.     Key critical requirements:

    This role provides an exciting opportunity within the Chief Technology Office – Data Solutions team. Working closely with business stakeholders and technology leaders, you will play a key role in the creation and implementation of Big Data applications and products across Absa. Support innovation, design, build and test applications that deliver analytical and predictive content direct to users, combining commercial, analytical and technological expertise. Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Absa Operational Risk Framework and internal Absa Policies and Standards.

    Key Accountabilities

    Project Work:

    • Work with domain experts to identify and formalize approaches for solving business problems using machine learning and data science.

    • Design, validate, implement, deploy and monitor machine learning models/algorithms on large datasets

    • Work with large datasets using big tools (such as Spark, Hadoop) and/or data science tools (i.e. sk-learn, pandas, numpy, etc.)

    • Comfortable engaging with business area subject matter experts, data analysts and system administrators to find data required for projects.

    • Collaborating with the engineering team in the establishment of data pipelines from source systems to Hadoop.

    • Plan the delivery of assigned audits to a high quality across our RBB division in line with Key Performance Indicators as per the methodology. This will include adequate resourcing scheduling, meeting key deliverables in terms of audit timelines and review of audit work to confirm that the minimum requirements as per methodology are met.

    • Act as a mentor for auditors across the team and peers to provide guidance to ensure that their work exceeds quality standards.

    • Manage the teams that assigned to the audit effectively by delegating audit work to empower each individual team member.

    • Contribute to the annual planning process as requested by the Head of Audit by providing feedback and knowledge in terms of business. This will include identifying auditable entities, assessing the audit needs assessment and preparing all Management Information reports required.

    • Engage with Centres of Excellences at each stage in the audit process and give oversight to CoE colleagues working on the audit assignment.

    • Based on the reviews performed, provide effective feedback to audit staff during the audit assignment to confirm that working papers are completed in line with the AIA methodology.

    • B Degree (Commercial, Informatics, Statistics)

    • CA (SA), CIA, CISA or international equivalents

    • 3-5 years’ experience in Internal/External audit or commensurate experience in a major financial institution or consulting

    Internal Audit Manager - Wholesale Credit Risk

    Job Description

    • Take ownership and initiative, to negotiate, influence and build consensus and successfully navigate audit delivery within timelines and quality criteria. Leading internal audit project teams, working closely with peer VPs, define audit scopes and oversee audit testing, including drafting internal audit findings and prepare draft reports for discussion with senior management. This includes a strong acumen regarding auditing methods and industry practices for Wholesale Credit Risk.

    • The position is a technical Credit Risk specialist as well as SME role in Internal Audit and is required require to provide assurance on:

    • Business Unit Credit Risk Functions: The application and the effectiveness of the retail credit risk management practices, methodologies and systems (e.g. primary risk, credit concentration risk, mandates and scale, credit portfolio management, credit risk strategy, portfolio segmentation, assessment and aggregation, impairment of financial assets, Country and Sovereign Risk, model use, and distressed restructures/forbearance).

    • Regulatory Framework: The provisions of the regulatory framework and in particular the bank’s system for identifying and measuring its regulatory capital and assessing the adequacy of its capital resources in relation to the bank’s credit risk exposures and established minimum ratios as well as Pillar 3 disclosures.

    • To deliver credit assessment, credit portfolio management and lending decisions within mandate / personal discretion for Medium and Large Business Banking clients. as well as stakeholder engagement with key credit and business solution deliverables

    Job Description

    • Credit Risk Assessment & Portfolio Management:
    •  Consider credit applications in order to determine lending appetite, financing solutions and structures to adequately meet the financing needs of Absa Business Banking clients in mostly the Growth and Premium CVP’s.
