    Financial Manager - Sasolburg

    Applications Engineer - Johannesburg

    What needs to be done?

    • Key Account Management: Build and maintain relationships with key customers
    • Managing Tenders: Efficient management and preparation of the tender process (enquiry, risks, contracts, costs and submission of documents) to be completed in line with client specifications and in accordance with Howden standards.

    Site Supervisor GO- Matimba Power Station

    What needs to be done?

    • Participate in pre-project discussions before SOW is defined and resources are allocated to ensure preparedness. Participate in first-line inspections to determine final SOW
    • Plan and interpret project requirements after receipt of production order (data package) in order to achieve objectives effectively.
    • Compile spares list needed for assignment to ensure SOW can be fulfilled. Stock control of tools and working equipment to ensure availability and in working condition.
    • Ensure all safety regulations and site safety file requirements are applied on the job to ensure the wellbeing of Howden workers.

    • Develop QCP from repair procedure and make up data books

    Team Leader - Aftermarket Contracts

    What needs to be done?

    • Project and Contract Management: Convene commercial and technical hand over meetings to familiarise all parties with the terms of the contract as well as understand clients’ requirements in order to ensure that all clients requirements are met according to set standards and within agreed time framework. Ensure that project schedules developed by Project Engineers for each project are correct and are in accordance with the milestones prescribed in the contracts. Coordinate design work with the drawing office and convene review meetings with same to ensure that designs are completed accurately and on time. Effectively allocating projects to various Project Engineers in the team.
    • People Management: Determine resource requirements to ensure adequate capacity is available to execute work according to client requirements. Ensure that work is executed to comply with agreed work standards and SHEQ requirements. Implement performance objectives as determined by management and monitor performance against same to ensure productivity, client satisfaction and a cost-effective operation. Formulate and agree KRAs and KPIs annually with the department’s personnel to ensure targets are met and training needs are identified, thereby ensuring continuous development and performance standards are maintained.
    • SHEQ Management: Ensure that work is performed according to SHEQ standards as determined by the SHEQ Managers to maintain or improve the TRIR rating. Ensure that the agreed SHEQ KPI’s for the department are met or exceeded.
    • Business Development: Compile & maintain a current database of Howden’s installed base in South Africa & SADC region. Liaise with other Howden Business Units supplying equipment into Africa for aftermarket support. Conduct periodic visits to existing customers to assess current & future equipment & service requirements.
    • Commissioning: Ensure that all resources and third parties required for the successful commissioning of the plant are mobilised to ensure a smooth commissioning process.
    • Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls

    What do you need to bring?

    • Grade 12/ Matric.

    EHS Coordinator - Johannesburg

    Howden South Africa Division requires an experienced EHS Coordinator. The Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator will work in our Howden Fan Mining & Industrial Service department AFM business, Initially the role will be office-based reviewing, revising and implementing our ISO Integrated Management System but will also require travel to sites to carry out inspections and audits along with providing EHS support to site and management teams. The role will also involve implementing and managing ISO Integrated Management Systems to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO 50001 standards. Including Howden Global EHS standards assessments and implementation. Liaising with the Engineers, PMs & Sales & applications to understand the scope work required and resources.

    What needs to be done?

    • Support a number of projects and departments to meet the requirements of the Safety, Health and Environment Management systems.
    • Support the provision of occupational health within the business, under the direction of the Head of EHS.
    • Promote the value of occupational health at a local level Champion EHS initiatives in the workplace whilst ensuring that legislation is adhered to.
    • Produce regional EHS statistics on a monthly basis, identify trends and take proactive initiatives.
    • Manage all labour hired Safety Officers on sites and ensure compliance and support.
    • Accident/incident investigations and undertake timely investigations.  
    • Maintain Integrated Management System carry out internal and site-based EHS inspections and audits
    • Ensure point of work risk assessments is conducted. Draft and implement client EHS files on client SHE Specifications
    • Arrange permits, inductions, medicals and training for associates
    • Provide Howden induction to all associates, contractors and visitors.
    • Work focus: 80 % on Safety and 20 % Quality
