    Senior Manager: Project Management

    • The Global Markets team within CIB Investment Banking is looking for a Senior Project Manager to assist with the successful delivery of technology and business projects and to ensure alignment of projects and project outcomes to the business, IT strategies and objectives. Investment Banking / Global Markets and or Market Risk experience is fundamental for this role. 
    • Absa Global Markets is a Pan African market leader, engaging in sales, trading and research activities across all major asset classes in our 13 presence markets and key non-presence markets. The team delivers cross-asset pricing, hedging and risk management capabilities across the product spectrum to corporate and institutional clients, both on the continent and offshore.
    • The technology team supports the business throughout the whole trade lifecycle. This includes trade execution, trade risk management, post-trade servicing, product control, and compliance. The lifecycle is managed across a number of platforms which includes in-house built as well as vendor solutions.

    Accountabilities:

    • Manage the end-to-end execution of waterfall and agile projects (Business and Technology);
    • Manage complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business;
    • Must be able to engage with senior business and technology stakeholders;
    • Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals;
    • Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project;
    • Ensure that adequate resources are allocated to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes; this will entail negotiating with various business and technical stakeholders for said resources;
    • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, budgets, communicating across leadership;

    Key critical requirements:

    • Minimum 7 years’ Project Management experience, across technology and business
    • Investment Banking / Global Markets and or Market Risk experience (essential)
    • Excellent experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SDLC / Waterfall;
    • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations;
