Requirements
A minimum of a National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of atleast 2 years’ experience in a similar role and environment
Industrial background with 3 to 5 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry
Technical/ Electro-Mechanical background with 3 - 5 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry
Ability to read and understand schematics drawings and software specifications
Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems preferable
Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

24 hours repairs for any defect upon receiving the train for repairs

Responsibilities:
Technical Support
Support/Interface with Engineering Department for the analysis of all data coming from the field for the purposes of resolution of technical problem on the on trains
Reporting of all the anomalies found in commercial service and organization of the same in official reports to be sent to all company function
Interface with the customer and the technical fleet management to deal with all emergencies possible arising during the commercial service
Support the customer in corrective and preventive maintenance execution by:
Coaching and training the customer on executing maintenance task, following procedures delivered by Gibela Engineering team upon request
Answering to all requests addressed by the customer – by call or directly at technical support desk
Train preparation, all levels of diagnostic on trains/CFM or use of on-board computerized equipment/working manuals, troubleshooting guide and train system knowledge
Maintenance Execution
Troubleshoot and repair the GIBELA Rolling Stock, in line with specified Quality procedures. This will require Manual work and sometimes working on powered up trains in a safe and controlled manner
Perform damage or vandalism incidents corrective maintenance
Carry out such work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies
Carry out train preparation, all levels of diagnostic and work arising involving the use of onboard computerized equipment/working manuals, troubleshooting guides and train system knowledge
Undertake other duties as specified by the Depot Manager or person delegated by him/her
Adhere to company procedures especially in relation to Quality and Health & Safety
Report accidents/incidents, and the work done to repair the Trains
Drive company vehicles as and when required and applicable
Attend all relevant training provided by the company as instructed by the line manager
Obtain and maintain all mandatory and special processes certifications
Obtain and maintain all other training deemed necessary by the line management
Train new members of the team
Assist the Reliability team and the Field Engineer to understand the root cause of complex failures
Purpose of the Job:
The Quality Inspector manages scope of work, ensure the conformity of the product and to help the continuous improvement on quality processes. Ensure the conformity of the product and act quickly to solve quality issues.
The position functionally reports to Site Operations Manager and hierarchally to the Project Quality & Safety Manager.
Based in the in the Wolmerton PRASA depot where Commissioning and Train Acceptance and Warranty activities will be performed.
Measurement:
Number of defects on final product / at the delivery.
Non-conformity treatment – curative / corrective.
Inspection at the workstations – number of reworks, missing parts, NCR, derogations, modifications.
Return of Experience at the workstation – decrease of the reworks.
Reactivity to solve issues/Quality Animation
Work Station Audits
Responsibilities:
Ensure the conformity of the product delivered
Ensure the respect of the Control Plan and Self Inspection at each workstation.
Create Non-Conformity Report in the GSI system and ensure the curative actions are defined.
Analyse and find the root cause of repetitive non compliancy / reworks – QRQC methods.
Update the list of defects still open – validate and close the reworks done.
Supply all the necessary document to complete the Delivery Log Book.
Day to day quality actions
Ensure quality is built into the processes.
Inspect the final product before the release for delivery.
Define the Demerit for each inspection / product.
Attend the daily meeting in the workshop.
Defined and communicate the quality acceptance criteria at each workstation.
With Depot Operations manager, train to use the self-inspection sheets.
Suggest actions to improve the quality of the final product seen by the customer, especially the repetitive defects.
Support service operations and industrial teams to apply improvement actions.
Train other people (quality / manufacturing / industrial) to the quality metier.
Respect EHS rules and any work related processes.
Requirements:
Grade 12
Qualification in Quality Management, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
MS Office literacy
Technical knowledge with experience in quality within a manufacturing/service operations.
General railway and Train knowledge.
Working knowledge of Health & Safety standards.

Purpose of the Job
Carry out the test of trains in accordance with the testing procedure and as per the delivery schedule. Ensure timely execution and respect of EHS requirements.
Key responsibilities include the following:
Ensure Targets (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) are achieved in the area responsibility
Train and develop people within the team
Maintain safety standards in the area of responsibility
Maintain equipment standards (through TPM schedules)
Maintain task sequencing and task allocation in the area of responsibility
Ensure all agreed production standards (APSYS) are maintained and adhered to
Lead weekly weekend work plan for backlog and recovery
Consolidate shop daily attendance and overtime for all EPU’s/stations
Continuous Improvement - Present shopfloor improvement initiative, monthly, Overall monthly workstation audit (skills matrix, preservation of tools/machines, anticipation of key consumables, adherence to task sequencing EHS etc)
Manage + 20 employees across responsible stations
Accept responsibility to be a “stand-in” to Senior Manufacturing Manager as required e.g. overall management of weekend/overtime plan
Accept responsibility to “fill the gap” when EPU Manager/s are not available
Overall coordination of training plan/needs i.e. to ensure minimum impact to production
Requirements:
National Diploma / Degree (preferably Mechanical / Electrical/ Industrial Engineering)
MDP or relevant Business management qualification will be an added advantage.
More than 5 years’ experience in manufacturing coupled with proven management experience
Preference will be given to candidates with extensive management experience gained in a lean manufacturing environment
Ability to lead and motivate a group of more than 100 people towards achieving a set of predefined targets
Practical, working knowledge of Labour-relations policies and procedures in the South African Labour context.
