    Mineral Residue Facility Principal

    Job Description

    As a Mineral Residue Facility Principal, you will coordinate the implementation of the Anglo-American Technical and Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management. You will provide technical support to the operational team. Aspects for support include review of proposed and current design aspects of MRFs, performance of the Engineer of Record, performance of the facilities and performance of the tailings dam operators

    You will also:

    • Ensure that MRF's across Anglo American Platinum’s are managed as per plan and technical specification and engage with external subject matter experts to identify opportunities for continuous improvement for Anglo American Platinum’s MRFs and champion technology adoption on MRFs
    • Manage progression of water savings through improved MRF operation
    • Steer AAP’s evaluation of paste, dry stacked and underground storage alternatives
    • Be part of the broader Anglo American MRF community, ensuring that best practice, continuous learning and knowledge sharing is adopted
    • Ensure compliance of the discipline to external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) and Anglo-American Group requirements
    • Manage Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) related reporting for all AAP MRF's and advise executives and mine management on MRF related matters

    This role is at our Johannesburg Corporate Office at a band 5 level reporting to the Head of Projects and Environmental.

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
    • Pr. Eng with ECSA
    • Project management qualification an advantage

    Experience:

    • 15 years of post-graduate experience in the civil engineering and/or geotechnical field in a consulting and operational role(s) including the design and management of MRFs
    • Lifecycle of civil engineering structures including planning, design, implementation and closure
    • Project management fundamentals

    Engineering Scheduler Asset Management

    Job Description

    • The focus of this role is to support the Work Management process by ensuring that all approved work is completed on time. The main functions will include:

    Maintenance Scheduling

    • You will review the Work Order Task Status Report on a daily basis as well as schedule newly approved work and assist in setting the schedule as well as track upcoming work. This is to ensure that we minimize the impact on operating performance

    Reporting

    • Weekly and monthly reporting, detailing scheduled versus actual maintenance activities and resource usage.
    • You will require strong attention to detail in this position.
    • This role is in the Planning department at a C5 level and reports into the Asset Management Coordinator.

    Qualifications
    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science

    Your experience will include:

    • 3-5 years Planned Maintenance experience
    • MS Office proficiency
    • SAP PM experience
    • The successful candidate will need to undergo a Medical Fitness Test
    • Code 8 driver license
    • Basic artisan Training Module (advantageous)
