    SEO and CRO Specialist

    Key Purpose

    Discovery is offering a great opportunity to join its in-house digital marketing team. We are looking for a passionate and commercially minded Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Conversation Rate Optimisation (CRO) specialist to implement strategies to make sure our brand ranks optimally on Google Search – both in paid and organic sections – and to ensure that users convert post click. This person actively keeps themselves abreast of the latest changes in the search engine field, has a proven track record in SEO in either an agency or a corporate, with a clear understanding of SEO, SEM, conversion rate optimisation, Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush or any other applicable search tools, as well as A/B testing tools such as Google Optimize. The person will also look after Feefo, an independent customer review rating tool.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Perform SEO analysis and report on Discovery’s search engine rankings and overall performance in paid and organic search

    • Provide recommendations and implement strategies for content development to make sure we reach our SEO goals  

    • Manage site audit and ensure a site score of over 90

    • Perform ongoing keyword research in line with brand objectives and look for new keyword opportunities

    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis on a monthly basis

    • Administer programs such as SEMrush, Google MyBusiness, Google Search Console, Google Optimize for diagnostics, reporting and management

    • Develop and implement strategies, both content and technology related, to improve search rank and Google ads quality score (including page speed, link building, url structures, metadata, naming convension etc.)

    • Develop and execute an A/B testing plan to optimise conversion on the site and the app

    • Work with the marketing technologists and development teams to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented

    • Work with brand and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation, including meta data

    • Work with brand and marketing teams to drive CRO on key website pages

    • Compile reports and present at manco meetings

    • Give guidance around implementation of Accelerated Mobile Pages

    • Integrate with UX and CRO

    • Manage the relationship with the customer feedback software vendor, have regular meetings with the team, ensure data is uploaded monthly, work with brand to capture requirements and manage reviews

    • Keep up to date with SEO, CRO industry trends and developments

    Competencies

    • Leading and Supervising

    • Degree/diploma or SETA equivalent

    • Proven SEO experience

    • Proven CRO experience

    • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    • Understanding of online leads, conversions and sales

    • Extensive experience in website analytics tools including Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Google Optimize (or other SEO or A/B testing tools)

    • Understanding and implementation of A/B testing

    • Sound knowledge of SEO principles including the latest ranking factors and algorithms

    • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO, SEM and CRO

    • Ability to translate analytics into simple and clear actionable items and present these in regular meetings

    Education and Experience

    • Relevant Bachelor's Degree : Honours in BA / B.Comm in Marketing / Communications or other relevant qualifications

    • Degree preferred

    • Google Analytics certification

    • SEMrush certification

    • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript code

    Internship (Talent Pool): Data Analyst

    Key Purpose

    To take guided ownership in the design and modification of business intelligence and MIS systems. The analyst will interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs and produce business dashboards and analytical solutions.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Solving ad-hoc analytical problems

    • Presenting and communicating solutions

    • Building and maintaining PowerBI dashboards and automatic SSRS reports.

    • Implement advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing and analyzing data

    • Determine how to improve existing business processes

    • Determine which processes can be automated

    Personal Attributes and Skills

    • SQL querying and advanced Microsoft Office skills.

    Education and Experience

    • Matric (Essential)

    • Completed a BSc degree in either, actuarial science, statistics and/or mathematics

    Template Developer - Vitality Life

    Key Purpose

    Develop client and advisor communication templates . Collaborate with business analysts and business to produce high quality client and advisor communication suitable for print, email and online portal. Facilitate timely production release of various Report templates.

     

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    The Developer is responsible for the development of all outgoing communication to policy holders and advisors. These include, policy schedules, welcome packs, anniversary letters, product fact files, credit control letters etc. which are sent to via post, email and viewed online on the Vitality UK website client and advisor portal. The responsibilities of the Template Developer are, but not limited to the following:

     

    Notification Request QA

    • Verify and ensure that all documentation is correct and that all necessary sign off has been received.
    • Verify that functional specification is understandable and usable.
    • Manage communication between requestor and project manager.
    • Escalate any potentially problematic situations to the BA.
    • Utilise team support to ensure good client relationships.

     

    Template Development

    • Develop template according to specification
    • Formscape Transform, Ecrion and XSL/HTML used to develop templates
    • Test own work and resolve all issues

     

    Template Deployment

    • Configure notification as per specification
    • Ensure synchronicity is maintained between environments

     

    User Acceptance Testing

    • Deploy templates to testing environment appropriately.
    • Fix any error timeously

     

    Go-Live

    • Advise user on go-live process
    • Liaise with team member to document issues
    • Deploy templates to live environment

    Support

    • Assist user in investigation of template and notification related issues
    • Escalate issues to the team members or Business Analyst
    • Differentiate between fixes & enhancements and advise user on process accordingly

    Other

    • Adhere to defined templates
    • Knowledge sharing with team members
    • Knowledge of UK Market and best practices advantageous
