    You as a Sales Specialist, will be part of Power Grids business based in Modderfontein, South Africa. You are responsible for sales of products, systems & services within a designated market in accordance with strategy for the EPC channel of Power Grids. Building long term customer relationships and managing resolution to specific customer needs and issues. Identifying and developing sales opportunities.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Volume and Profit: Selling products/systems/services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units/Product Groups.

    • Customer Relations: Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product/systems/ services offering, and align to provide a solution. Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.

    • Sales Plans: Preparing sales plans using company tools. Performing regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls.

    • Sales: Creating added value for the customer and Hitachi ABB Power Grids and ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts, and proposals by using effective sales techniques. Communicating details in accordance with Hitachi ABB Power Grids offering and strategy (delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions).

    • Marketing: Ensuring efficient marketing activities and value proposition to customers.

    • New Market Opportunities: Identifying and drives the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.

    • Administration: Managing administrative procedures in sales processes and supporting collection and project management activities when needed.

    • Offer Preparation: Preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or the Marketing Manager. Ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.

    Your background

    • B. Tech or B.SC degree in Electric or Electronic Engineering.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in customer relationship building, business development and sales in Power Grids line of business.

    • Proven track record of sales of projects and products.

    • Good understanding of the EPC landscape in Southern Africa.

    • ECSA Professional registration is desirable.

    Tender and Quotation Specialist

    You as a Tender and Quotation Specialist, will be part of Power Grids business based in Modderfontein, South Africa. Reporting to the Market Manager- PGHV, you are responsible for creating and completing bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specification or customer requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin for the Company. Maintain and improve the balance between all Hitachi ABB Power Grids units and customers that are present in the area of responsibility.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Target: Formulating competitive bids/estimates/quotations, taking into account best available

    • product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation. Ensuring tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.

    • Preparation: Managing the preparation of all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary, project management (e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.

    • Coordination: In accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, ensures that inputs for editing

    • activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures. Managing external services to support bid/estimation preparation such as translations and governmental approvals.

    • Documentation: Collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer/order and records assumptions and decisions taken during the development process. Regularly reports the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and collects and analyses the reasons for tenders being lost and won.

    • Risk: Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimating, and in any related contract

    • agreements across customers/channels. Providing information and/or participates in the Risk Review process in accordance with Hitachi ABB Power Grids policy.

    • Information Coordination: Responsible for collecting and collating all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements.

    • Customer Relations: Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. Providing

    • any necessary technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers.

    • Supplier Selection: Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to check match with specifications. Collaborating with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.

    Your background

    • National Diploma (S4) or B. Tech or B.E in Electrical Engineering. Registered with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as Candidate or Professional.

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in tender and quotation or bids and proposals.

    • Market pricing knowledge and strategy of LV, MV & HV capacitor banks & filters and surge arresters. Technical knowledge of LV capacitor & filters, MV Metal enclosed capacitor banks, open rack cap bank, harmonic filters.

    • Basic knowledge of tendering and quotation for medium and high voltage equipment.

    • Basic understanding of power quality market and trends. Investigate, analyze, and solve power quality related problems at customer locations as an independent operator and take measurement when required.

    This role is responsible for implementation of Learning & Development strategy locally in order to ensure that skills and knowledge of employees meet the organization's current and future needs according to the constantly changing business environment and within budget and corporate guidelines.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Actively shape the training portfolio based on analytical data on the trainings effectiveness, usage, adoption rate, assessing the impact of the training program on employee performance in a tangible way.

    • Stay in close contact with the business to understand the needs for training and coaching.

    • Develop training plans and training curricula for internal development programs.

    • Support local roll-out of trainings.

    • Ensure that the training programs realized locally guarantee engagement and a superior employee experience, effective knowledge transfer and skill development.

    • Ensure that an integrated & comprehensive WSP & Annual Training Plan is timeously submitted and aligned to the BBBEE country requirements (skills development & management control).

    • Ensure that the plan accurately addresses Learner Needs Analysis, monitor delivery to the plan and adjust as required

    • Manage learnerships, internships and other skills program & monitor the progress of trainees to ensure progress within the required timeframes

    • Work together with relevant Structures and Bodies to recruit Learners, Engineers in Training & Graduates

    • Ensure that discretionary grants & rebates are optimized and processed timeously

    • Driving delivery on all elements of the NQF/SETA structures & requirements, also ensuring that the related administration is timeously, accurately, and efficiently processed

    • Actively participate and drive initiatives in relevant consultative forums such as Employment Equity

    • Produce a monthly report on L&D delivery to plan, performance against budget, SETA matters

    • Experiment with different learning techniques based on most recent scientific research (e.g. adult learning techniques) and digital tools and platforms (e.g. gamification).

    • Create enablement tools and documents for business/HR programs (e.g. roll-out of a system).

    • Ensure compliance of local and global training programs realized locally with local laws and regulations.

    • Effectively communicate and promote training programs as well as coaching possibilities.

    • Foster a global network of L&D professionals collaborating cross country and exchanging expertise as well as driving global learning and development topics cross business areas and geographies

    • Training Development and Conduction

    • Develop training curriculum/materials both for individuals and key groups.

    • Stakeholder management and buy-in for launching/implementing leadership programs.

    • In collaboration with Talent Acquisition Specialist and GBS develops onboarding programs and orientation training curriculum for newly hired employees (new joiners).

    • Develops training program for new leaders – employees to assume people management responsibilities.

    • Select appropriate delivery methods for the trainings, applying rapid design and delivery methods (virtual, classroom, blended, multi-media, etc.) which are the best match to target group needs.

    • Collect data and analyze the impact of specific initiatives as well as long-term impact of the training programs.

    • Cooperate with external training providers. Select and oversee vendors to develop training content or conduct training.

    • Oversee the quality of externally provided learning solutions; ensure training and services meet established standards.

    • Training Management

    • Analyze training needs to develop appropriate programs to ensure essential knowledge and skills are developed within the employee population. Ensure relevant outcome of talent management process serves as important input on the training need analysis.

    • Program management including upkeep of programs, making sure programs are business relevant and updated with latest learning methodologies, and leading global projects for content renewal or design/development of new programs.

    • Coordinate with GBS for publishing calendar, enrollment, invitations & logistics, pre-work, venue booking and post program feedback, etc. (end to end training processes) including data analysis and reporting and maintaining training records.

    • Measure learning effectiveness based on information from surveys, feedback sessions and performance reviews.

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant Qualifications

    • 4-5 years’ experience as a qualified & registered SDF (Skills Development Facilitator) BBBEE elements of skills development Robust understanding of the SETA framework

    • Designing and developing standard/custom-made solutions as well as market experience on programs available

    • Previous experience facilitating and delivering learning programs

    • Project Management ideal

    • Extensive experience of people development, agile learning and a passion in learning and development

    • Necessary to understand how adults learn, develop, and adopt new behavioral and mental models

    • The ability to motivate people to learning engagement and translate learning and development as critical for business success

    • The ability both to create a strategy and deliver a coordinated program of activities

    • Excellent command of English, good problem-solving skills, and a pro-active thinker
