    Project Manager Volvo Group Southern Africa (VGSA) (Temporary)

    Main Purpose of the job is to direct the sales team in selling the Volvo Truck products (Transport solutions) to Customers in South Africa within the Company’s operational plan parameters, whilst supporting the Dealer network in selling Volvo Trucks in the right application and ensuring profitability of vehicles for perpetual succession.
     
    Reporting: This position reports to Director New Truck Sales.

    Job Objectives:

    Strategic: 

    • To take responsibility for compiling a sales strategy and sales plan (sales mix) in order to reach set targets as determined for their area of responsibility in supporting the company business plan.
    • To manage Volvo Truck’s advantage, the Customer profile by establishing a customer management strategy for the Dealer Sales team, to strengthen relationships and secure future business.  
    • To optimise opportunities to sell Volvo Trucks’ products by analysing the market trends within the area of responsibility, and ensuring the information given through the Market Company to ensure effective response through price adjustments, sales campaigns, and spec changes.
    • To drive the company’s vision through an effective CRM (Customer Relation Management) programme, applicable to Volvo Trucks and Dealer sales departments, draft action plans accordingly and ensure effective and efficient implementation of corrective action.

    Operational:    

    • To drive the implementation of the sales plan throughout the Dealer Network within the area of responsibility in a structured and focused manner; and to ensure that regular measurement, corrective action and feedback are maintained, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.   
    • To accurately report against sales targets and take corrective action as and when required.  
    • To manage and control the Operational expense budget through monthly reporting.   
    • To optimize profitability through management of the sales channels and segments in the area of responsibility.   
    • To ensure the Dealer network submits there monthly forecast timeously to enable effective inventory planning by Volvo Trucks.
    • To sell Heavy Commercial vehicles of highest quality to existing customer base and grow customer base in order to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction.
    • To adhere to legislation, policies and procedures as per requirements to ensure compliance.
    • To build exceptional relationships to ensure growth and customer retention.
    • To ensure optimum profitability and volume for the brand in line with business plan.
    • To ensure good communication channels and give regular feedback to customer and key company personnel.
    • To add value to the customer by giving advice and support through good understanding the customer’s business and transport needs.

    Qualification & Job Experience:

    • Diploma in Road Transportation & Logistics.
    • Minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably in the truck industry.
    • Minimum of 5 years in a Managerial role.

    Diesel Technician - Alrode

    The main purpose of the job is to produce the required labor hours through maintenance and repair work, in accordance with the Company quality and efficiency standards.

    Reporting: This position reports to the Team Leader.

    Job Objectives:

    • Fault-finding and diagnosis on Volvo Products by interpreting product “under performance” and/or failure.
    • Interpret and implement information in Volvo Manual and Service Literature.
    • By following directives provided in Workshop Manuals, produce work of Volvo acceptable standards.
    • Follow repair, maintenance instructions and specifications as per the manual.
    • Ensure excellence in customer service delivery through meticulously following procedures/processes.
    • Provide comprehensive and accurate reports on diagnosis, assessment of component/part, failures, observations, actions and recommendations.

    Follow procedures for breakdown work:

    • Liaise with driver before responding to customer breakdowns;
    • Ensure the correct documentation is in place and accurately completed before submission.
    • Compliance to ISO 9001 and other Safety standards.

    Qualification & Job Experience:

    • Matric/N3.
    • Trade Test Certificate - Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
    • 3 years Dealership experience in maintenance and repairs of heavy commercial vehicles.

    Job Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

    • Ability to read all relevant measuring equipment.
    • Knowledge/skills to effect correct repair work.
    • Ability to interpret technical manuals and specifications and put into practice.
    • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
    • Computer literacy.

    Team Leader - Middelburg

    The main purpose of the job is to supervise the activities of workshop employees to meet required departmental targets at the required levels of efficiency and service deliver.

    Reporting: The role reports to the Service Manager.

    Job Objectives:

    • Supervision of daily staff activities.
    • Effective daily planning of work ensuring efficiency at all times.
    • Allocate available Technician according to the production plans.
    • Ensuring high level of customer satisfaction is met consistently.
    • Control WIP (Work In Progress) until completed.
    • Liaise with service advisor to ensure correct completion and processing of documentation.
    • Monitor and control progress of jobs ensuring feedback to service advisors.
    • Ensure relevant technical literature is in place providing guidance where required.
    • Ensure that Technicians comply with the Volvo Standards.
    • Ensure necessary control of workshop equipment, vehicles and special tools.
    • Observe and follow directives given in policies, instructions as well as SHEQ.

    Qualification & Job Experience:

    • Diesel Mechanic Trade Test.
    • Five (5) years’ experience working as a Diesel Mechanical, 2 of which must be in a Team Leader/ Supervisor capacity within the workshop environment.

    Sales Administrator – Used Trucks (Boksburg)

    The main purpose of the position is supporting the Used department by ensuring smooth operations, including invoicing, creating orders, and maintaining accurate records. High levels of Administration Skills, accurate paperwork, and an effective filing system are required.

    Job Objectives:

    • Process payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
    • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
    • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
    • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
    • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
    • Generate reports detailing accounts payables status.
    • Assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks from time to time.
    • Build good supplier relationships, maintaining a professional reputation as an ambassador for VGSA.

    Sales Manager Used Trucks - Boksburg

    The main purpose of the position is to drive Used Truck Sales to achieve their sales objectives through a wholly owned and operated sales organization. To ensure that the department is fully compliant in terms of process and procedure within the levels defined by the organisation within given authorisation rules, guidelines, policies, procedures.

    Reporting: This role is reports to the Director: Commercial Offering & Used Trucks of Volvo Group Southern Africa, or to the position that the company may appoint.
