    Learning & Performance Business Partner - Johannesburg

    Role purpose:

    • The role is a strategic partner to Vodacom Group (VGL) HRBPs and Business Leaders, owning the plan and driving capability, learning, performance, and talent interventions (short-long term) within the Group Function. 
    • This includes the identification of workforce requirements linked to short and long-term business needs and the development of capability and talent plans to address these needs

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Business partnering

    • Build partnerships with Business Leaders and HR Business Partners to identify workforce skill requirements linked to short and long-term business needs. 

    Build skills and talent

    • Build/own the plan to build diverse and inclusive talent and skills across a defined area.
    • Own the delivery of targeted learning, skill and talent projects working closely with areas of expertise and business leaders.
    • Lead development of business case requests for new skill/programme/learning services for defined areas.
    • Active involvement in evaluation of learning, talent, and skill interventions, working with area of expertise to continually improve and evolve services.
    • Track impact learning, talent, skill interventions have on closing organisational capability gaps. Lead interventions to improve/further accelerate progress.

    Drive a learning and performance culture

    • Take ownership for creating a learning and performance culture that supports individual and organisational performance and growth.
    • Lead performance/development cycle for area of the business, using outcomes to drive improvement.

    Internal and external relationships

    • Build strategic partnerships with business and market/functional HR teams to identify business priorities and identify appropriate learning solutions.
    • Drive relationships across the Vodacom Learning Organisation Areas of expertise to prioritise and develop programs relevant to the business requirements.
    • Drive relationships with centres of expertise to ensure a holistic approach in the development/delivery of learning, talent and skill solutions. 

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • Degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources but preferably post graduate
    • Minimum 6 years relevant experience in learning and development
    • 3-5 years’ experience in HR Business Partnering or Talent and Performance Management

    Experience

    • Experienced at identifying current and future capability needs and developing / implementing organisational solutions to build address needs.
    • Demonstrable experience at identifying individual learning needs based on data and insight and partnering with individuals and teams to drive improvements.
    • Experienced at constructing/delivering against inclusive talent development and performance management strategies. 
    • Experienced at building a continuous learning and performance culture
    • Apt at establishing and driving multiple relationships across the business and HR teams at a senior level

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

    • You will have a deep expertise in the Talent and Learning & Development areas 
    • You will have proven experience in building and developing strong trusted partnerships with business leaders and HRBPs.
    • You will have considerable experience in the design of learning and talent development initiatives. 
    • You will have demonstrable experience in providing thought leadership within your area of expertise. 
    • You will have the ability to influence strategically up, down and across the organisation. 
    • You will be obsessed with the employee experience ensuring high levels of employee retention and engagement.  
    • You will have external and internal insights to design experiences that can differentiate us from our competitors to ensure we are Future Ready.

    Talent and Leadership Lead - Midrand

    Role purpose:

    • Responsible to provide an integrated approach to Talent Management and Leadership Development across Africa. This role will manage and govern and provide input to the talent, succession and leadership development strategy. Responsible for evolving the relevant talent and leadership development framework/tools and processes and execute through talent leads in the markets
    • This is role is also responsible for ensuring data driven talent and succession decision making and that core, high profile talent and succession processes run smoothly. 

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Ensure smooth execution of the Vodafone/Vodacom Talent and Performance processes according to the cycles
    • Manage and govern relevant policies, processes, and practices for all Talent and Leadership Development initiatives.
    • Provide an integrated communication and execution plan and ensure that markets are aligned
    • Collaborate with Internal Communications or Agencies to create, promote and evangelise talent and leadership development campaigns and support with mind-set shifts
    • Have a view of talent in different segments and host regular talent forums to support HR Community with talent mobility across Africa
    • Provide capability building to market spocs, where necessary
    • Construct an integrated leadership development offering, by identifying gaps in current system and implement new to complement the full offering
    • Partner with market spocs and scale impactful programmes across Africa, where possible
    • Partner with Business Schools/ Providers to design impactful programmes and ensure successful execution 
    • Liaise with Vodafone Learning Organisation regularly to ensure alignment and support where relevant
    • Proactively builds knowledge and competence, looking externally for best practice and implements innovative talent and leadership development solutions, to support the talent development agenda

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, post graduate preferable.
    • 8+ years talent management and performance management experience
    • 8+ years Leadership Development experience
    • Registered Psychometrist preferable

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

    • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics and relationship management.
    • Knowledge on how to design talent differentiation and assessment tools to identify and review talent.
    • Apt at influencing stakeholders and challenging the status quo.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured reports and briefs in English.
    • Skilled at leading and driving impactful change initiatives across a matrix organisation.
    • Proven project management and organisational skills. 
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while working with ambiguity.
    • Knowledge and understanding of psychometric assessment tools, ideally with supporting qualifications.
    • Proficient in MS Office suite and Success
