Mine Manager

The Mine Manager is responsible for the overall management of mining projects as well as assisting in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals, and evaluating performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Mine Manager will supervise all mine activities and resource allocation to ensure optimum performance
• Develop and implement effective training strategies and provide technical guidance
• Participate in enhancing community involvement and public relations
• Ensure compliance to all required health, safety and environmental standards
• Have strong knowledge around heavy machinery and maintenance schedules

Key Requirements:

• Mine Manager's Certificate of Competence
• Degree or Technikon Diploma in Mining Engineering
• Blasting Certificate for Opencast Mines
• Mine Health and Safety Act (3.1) appointment
• 15 plus year's experience in extraction and excavation gold mining
• Must be willing to relocate to outside of South Africa under either family or single status

This is a trading role within the Bank’s global emerging market trading and structuring business (GEM). With unrivalled breadth and superior execution capabilities, the GEM business is dedicated to providing client solutions in a wide range of emerging markets products.

• Pricing of client deals
• Managing risk to Local Bonds, Interest Rates and FX markets
• Driving business growth and building the franchise
• Funding desk cash positions
• Liaising with other traders in pricing transactions involving multiple books
• Interacting with sales and originations to generate new business

As per our client triple BEE requirements, preferance will be given to employement equity candidates.

Candidate's Profile

• Solid understanding of pricing and managing local bonds and interest rate products.
• Proven track record at revenue generation
• Established relationship with SARB & National Treasury
• Skilled at navigating complex multi-level relationships with both clients and colleagues.
• Thorough knowledge of South African Government Bonds' market, all short end rate derivatives, FX Spot & Forwards
• Proven risk management and strong analytical skills
• Good relationships with asset managers
• Strong interpersonal skills and works well in a team
• Able to understand and interpret market trends and identify, communicate and market trade ideas
• Able to work in a high paced environment under pressure
• Excellent spreadsheet and database skills (Matlab, VBA, Java)
