    Administrator - X 2

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

    • Identify data sources and collate information relevant to the work of the Sub-programme.
    • Conduct primary research as and when requested. 
    • Keep track of publications and ensure they are available when needed. 
    • Format documents, reports, information as and when requested. 
    • Assist with information-related queries when required. 
    • Capture information as requested. 
    • Develop and maintain an electronic document filing system. 
    • Develop and maintain relevant databases. 
    • Disseminate relevant information. 
    • File all documentation and correspondence received in the file plan. 
    • Archive attendance lists, agendas, minutes and other documents from meetings and events. 
    • Maintain updated lists of committees and working group members and their contact details. 
    • Input and update data in the directorate database. 
    • Timely provide documents upon request. 
    • Maintain confidentiality of records and documents. 
    • Coordinate meetings and workshops. 
    • Draft and distribute meeting agendas and relevant documentation. 
    • Book, collect and set up equipment needed for meetings. 
    • Arrange venues, catering and other requirements for meetings. 
    • Liaise with Supply Chain to ensure all the meeting requirements are met. 
    • Compile, copy, collate and distribute documents and stationery for meetings.

    • Maintain that all the equipment in the area of responsibility is in good working order. 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact in the area of responsibility.

    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
    • Interact with stakeholders about information required by them or from them.  

    The successful candidate should have: 

    • A Diploma in Administration/Management or relevant equivalent qualification 
    • 2-3 years’ experience in an Office administration or similar role

    Manager: Standards and Capacity Development

    Reporting to the Quality Assurance Director: Standards and Capacity Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

    • Support the sub-programme to develop internal and external capacity development initiatives (e.g. organise and convene quality promotion and capacity building fora and other workshops for public and private higher education institutions and professional bodies, and to support institutions to implement the developed standards). 
    • Support the sub-programme to compile and produce good practice guides on relevant themes. 
    • Support the sub-programme to develop capacity in new institutions entering higher education and compile readiness reports. 
    • Support the sub-programme in developing the Higher Education Practice Standards, Qualification Standards and other relevant standards. 
    • Support the sub-programme to establish and maintain relevant Communities of Practice to support the development and review of the standards, as well as accreditation and quality reviews. 
    • Support the development and monitoring of institutional improvement plans on Quality Assurance outcomes.  

    The successful candidate should have: 

    • A Master’s degree from a recognised higher education institution. 
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in higher education. 
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching and learning and quality assurance in higher education. 
    • Experience in developing and delivering capacity development programmes. 
    • Experience in project management.

    Director: Quality Reviews

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

    • Providing strategic, intellectual and operational direction and oversight for the Quality Reviews sub-programme. 
    • Conceptualising, designing, developing, planning, and managing projects and activities within the portfolio, including the conceptualisation, design and effective implementation of Quality Reviews, to ensure effective and efficient delivery of outputs of highest quality. 
    • Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of planned projects and activities within the portfolio, and reporting the progress to relevant structures internally, and to external structures as appropriate. 
    • Establishing and maintaining relevant Communities of Practice to support the implementation of Quality Reviews. 
    • Liaising with stakeholders on Quality Reviews. 
    • Ensuring that the outcomes of Quality Reviews are effectively communicated and recorded on the Quality Assurance (QA) Dashboards of each institution. 
    • Enabling and participating in research, knowledge building and knowledge dissemination on Quality Reviews processes and the data that is generated through them. 
    • Developing and nurturing partnerships, including funding partnerships with relevant organisations to support the implementation of Quality Reviews Support the implementation of the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), including through engaging and liaising with stakeholders in a manner that promotes and enhances the implementation of the QAF. 
    • Preparing budget bids for all projects and activities within the portfolio annually, following the budgeting guidelines, processes, and procedures of the organisation. 
    • Managing finances and assets allocated to the portfolio in accordance with the relevant policies, processes, and procedures. 
    • Managing human resources attached to the portfolio in accordance with the relevant policies, processes, and procedures. 
    • Actively participating in the processes of strategic and annual performance planning, and in the implementation of the strategic and annual performance plans of the organisation, as part of the CHE Management collective. 
    • Serving in internal management structures and contributing towards creating and maintaining an organisational climate that is conducive to operational excellence. 
    • Representing the CHE at relevant national and international forums. 
    • Performing other duties as would be assigned from time-to-time by the Chief Executive Officer and/or the Executive Director for Quality Assurance.  

    The successful candidate should have: 

    • Doctoral degree from a recognised higher education institution 
    • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in higher education 
    • A minimum of 3 years in a senior position in higher education 
    • A minimum of 5 experience in teaching and learning and quality assurance in higher education 
    • Experience in developing and delivering capacity development programmes

    Manager

    Reporting to the Director: Management of the HEQSF, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

    • Lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive database of qualifications, learning programmes, student enrolment and achievement for all higher education institutions. 
    • Lead the verification and validation of data for the higher education system to ensure validity, accuracy and reliability of data. 
    • Lead the maintenance of the HEQCIS database and submit achievement data for higher education institutions to SAQA for the NLRD/NQF-MIS. 
    • Support to the recommendation of the registration, deregistration, reregistration of qualifications with SAQA based on HEQC decisions. 
    • Support the evaluation of HEQSF requests from institutions (e.g. name changes, CESM changes, SAQA related requests, RPL requests, etc.) and respond to the institutions and to SAQA based on HEQC decisions. 
    • Quality control documents as required. 
    • Make inputs into and consolidate documents for purposes of reporting as required. 
    • Identify and inform the Director of significant and relevant academic and policy developments, initiatives and innovations. 
    • Contribute to the advance of the maintenance of a single comprehensive database for all higher education qualifications, associated learning programmes, student enrolments and achievements for public and private institutions and to ensure meaningful contribution to the system of collaboration through analysis and reporting of the database and the data. 
    • Participate in CHE activities such as forums, seminars and workshops. 
    • Attend symposia, workshops and conferences. 
    • Represent the CHE at meetings as required. 
    • Establish relationships with relevant stakeholders. 
    • Assist in resolving queries and providing information, and 
    • Maintain accurate records of stakeholder meetings. 

    The successful candidate should have: 

    • A Master’s degree from a recognised higher education institution. 
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in higher education Management Information Systems. 
    • Experience in developing and implementing capacity development programmes. 
    • Experience in project management.

    Quality Assurance Manager

    Reporting to the Senior Manager: Projects, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

    • Manage the CHE-MIS in the implementation of the internal and external operation of accreditation processes. 
    • Run system validation of data and corresponding AC and HEQC agendas. 
    • Manage the compilation of institutional profile information on the CHE-MIS. 
    • Provide leadership in automating site visit processes. 
    • Design and develop system effective and efficient procedures, practices and workflows.
    • Manage the database of complaints and analyze data therein for input into the CHE-MIS.
    • Support the Director and Senior Manager with regards to innovative projects relevant to Accreditation. 
    • Contribute to stakeholder meetings, working groups and committees, to keep abreast of relevant academic and policy developments and literature. 
    • Review and produce high-level system-generated reports related to accreditation processes. 
    • Support the Senior Manager Projects with the implementation of the relevant Committee decisions.  

    The successful candidate should have: 

    • A master’s degree, preferably in Information Systems or related field of study. 
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a higher education and/or quality assurance environments. 
    • Experience and knowledge of data management and processing is essential.
