    Senior Mechanical Engineer - Vanderbijlpark

    Purpose
    As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be required to support with scoping of new projects, perform basic mechanical and detailed designs, compiling technical specifications for procurement of tagged equipment and support the implementation of designs in a multidisciplinary team. The candidate will need to assist with the upskilling of team members, provide guidance, and set an example. Generate and review technical work accurately and drive internal processes to meet the client’s needs and deadlines.  

    Requirements

    • Involvement with the following phases and associated deliverables: Concept, Basic, Detailed, and Construction Support.

    To generate and execute technical deliverables including:

    • Scoping
    • Support with Work Breakdown
    • Support with generation of Mechanical Designs on Greenfields and Brownfields projects
    • Pr.Eng approval and sign-off of piping design isometrics
    • Pr.Eng approval and sign-off of static equipment design drawings will be advantageous
    • Ensure that discipline deliverables are in accordance with the necessary technical standards,  specifications, client requirements, applicable internal quality systems, and interface requirements with other work/disciplines
    • Technical interfacing and liaising with clients during proposal, design, and construction phases of projects
    • Technical interfacing and liaising with supply, fabrication and construction subcontractors during proposal, design and construction phases of projects
    • Technical support with MFD (P&ID) development, HAZOP study, model and constructability reviews,
    • Mechanical/Design philosophy review meetings internally and with clients  

    Qualifications/Experience

    • B Eng / BSc(Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum five years’ experience in industrial, mechanical and piping engineeringprojects
    • Professionally Registered with ECSA, (Pr Eng)
    • Experience in the application of ASME codes, API Standards, Pressure Equipment
    • Regulations, SANS 347, and other international standards for vessels and piping
    • Experience in Piping-Stress Analysis
    • Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) will be beneficial
    • Exposure to piping and mechanical fabrication and construction projects and processes
    • Experience in projects that involve multi-discipline teams
    • Exposure to and experience within the petrochemical sector and API standards would be advantageous
    • Vessel and/or structural design experience would be advantageous
    • Familiarity with the following software packages:
    • PVElite, Ceasar II, AutoCAD, Cadworx, Compress and Inventor.

    Team Lead – Mechanical Engineering - Secunda

    Purpose
    The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting in the scoping of new projects, mechanical design, compiling technical specifications for procurement of tagged equipment and support the implementation of designs independently in a multidisciplinary team to execute the Mechanical engineering & design deliverables during various design stages of projects.
    The candidate will need to develop team members, provide guidance, and set the example. Generate and review technical work accurately and drive internal processes to meet the client needs/deadlines.

    • Development of detail design deliverables effectively and efficiently within the engineering budget, on time and to sufficient quality
    • Liaise with client to gain insight into problem statements/scope definition of design requirements

    • Supervise, guide and lead the detail design mechanical engineering team and continuously update the philosophy of generating quality engineering deliverables as per client and business requirements.

    Purpose
    As a Procurement Officer, you will work closely with the Project Manager and the rest of his/her team in all aspects of ensuring that the goods/services are procured on time at the best price and best quality.

    Senior Engineer / Team Lead (Electrical)

    Purpose
    Proconics Vanderbijlpark is growing its Electrical team. This team provides EPC services to clients mainly in the petrochemical industry. As a Senior Electrical Engineer/Team Lead, you will work closely with the Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering, ensuring that your team is aligned with the Department’s objectives executing projects and responsible for all aspects of engineering to ensure the successful development of electrical deliverables, as well as interfacing with other disciplines You will be the technical lead on several projects at a time and you may be the project manager on smaller projects. Responsibilities include engineering and project management to ensure the successful execution of projects.  

    Requirements

    • One of several team leaders in the electrical division reporting to the Senior Manager – Electrical.
    • Lead a team of resources which may include engineers, technologists and/or designers. Typical teams will have up to 5 resources.
    • Execute single-discipline and multidisciplinary projects either as the electrical technical lead or the overall engineering manager. The technical lead/engineering manager is responsible for the technical quality ofthe project. The Team Leader will typically be in charge of several projects at the same time.
    • On certain projects this role will include being the project manager. The project manager is responsible for the budget, schedule and safety of the project as well as contract management. This will include management of subcontractors where applicable.
    • Participate in multi-disciplinary engineering activities and ensure close cooperation with other divisions.
    • Good understanding of standards and regulations to evaluate the quality and compliance of installed electrical systems.
    • Compile tenders and quotations for new projects.
    • Report on the progress and performance of projects to the discipline manager and/or project-specific sponsor.

    Electrical Engineer - Vanderbijlpark

    Purpose
    Proconics Vanderbijlpark is growing its Electrical team. This team provides EPC services to clients mainly in the petrochemical industry. The Electrical Engineer will report to the team leader within the Department for Electrical Engineering and Design. The Electrical Engineer will be involved in various project phases from feasibility studies to the commissioning and handover phases of projects. You will be the technical lead on several projects at a time and you may be the project manager on smaller projects. Responsibilities include engineering and project management to ensure the successful execution of projects.  

    Requirements

    • Managing self-responsibility concerning time, attendance and quality.
    •  Also, be able to function as an electrical lead engineer for multi-disciplinary projects.
    •  Review client proposals in terms of electrical engineering and design.
    •  Provide technical input for basic and detailed design.
