Job Purpose    
Manages the overall Systems Development Life Cycle of the business applications software, delivery solutions and improve the cost, performance, availability and manageability of applications
across their full life cycle.

This post reports to DEPUTY HEAD (APPLICATIONS AND PROJECTS)

Key Responsibility Areas    

•  Planning and developing training programming for the workforce.
•  Preparing and managing capital, expense and project budgets providing cost benefit analysis.
•  Manages the delivery of quality business systems and enhancements on-time and on-budget.
•  Provides senior technical leadership to Applications Development Group.
•  Directs the development of the Applications Systems Architecture and Standards.
•  Formulates strategy and develops and maintains strategic plans for the Branch.
•  Establishes standards and techniques for improving the application development processes
•  and monitors for compliance.

Job Purpose    
Manages the Municipality's medium- and long-term Information Communications and Technology (ICT) Business Continuity which includes Disaster Recovery.

This post reports to DEPUTY HEAD (SYSTEMS DELIVERY & SECURIT)

Key Responsibility Areas    

•  Manages the Municipality's Business Continuity processes.
•  Formulating and documenting a Business Continuity strategy consistent with the agreed business objectives and priorities.
•  Mentoring departments in developing, implementing and auditing their own Business Continuity plans and recovery strategies.
•  Ensuring that Business Continuity plans are tested regularly by the Municipality.
•  Manages the Municipality's Disaster Recovery processes by planning and charting the direction for Disaster Recovery processes.
•  Co-ordinating and supervising all special projects relating to Disaster Recovery and capacity.
•  Auditing the Disaster Recovery plans of various departments and implementing and testing resultant changes.
•  Effectively manages all risks from a technology perspective.
•  Assessing the potential risks brought about using an external contractor to manage the Municipality's information-processing facilities and implementing appropriate measures and procedures to guard against the compromise, damage or loss of data.
•  Ensuring that Disaster Recovery Plans for critical business processes have been developed, tested and updated where required.
•  Managing all the activities during the Disaster Recovery process, and during the regular Disaster Recovery testing.
•  Recognizing and identifying potential areas where existing Disaster Recovery policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed

Job Purpose    
To control technical operations of the vehicles and plant to meet set objectives.

Key Responsibility Areas    

•  Responsible for capturing data to maintain good records.
•  Control and allocate plant and transport to drivers and Refuse Removal Controllers.
•  Monitor the utilisation of allocated plant and inspect vehicles after every use.
•  Place orders for protective clothing for staff.
•  Maintain the vehicle monitoring system such as C-Track and related documentation.
•  Maintain accident records and file all correspondence with insurance companies.
•  Undertake related assignments.

•  4 Years relevant experience.
