    Junior Data E-Com and Category Activation Support Analyst - Africa (2 Year Contract)

    Job Overview

    Provide support on data insights and in-depth understanding of the competitor environment across multiple categories as well as effectively manage the dissemination of information within the business unit on the relevant that supports category, activation, sales and portfolio. Drive effective outputs and analysis of Digital campaign performance balancing investment and post campaign efficiencies to support optimized planning and execution across both traditional and Digital platforms.

    What are we looking for?

    • Minimum Bachelors degree in Business / Marketing / Research
    • Skilled data analyst with Digital E-Commerce Experience ideally dealing with Circana, REX, Spar Insights, E Route 2 Market, Data Orbis
    • Ability to build and consolidate multiple sources of data from customer platforms such Takalot, One Cart, Zulzi and Avo.
    • Has a strong understanding of Digital strategies and techniques used to drive category and brand enhancement utilizing content, perfect store and search engine optimization and campaign to deliver DCom / Omnichannel ambition though key shopper insights
    • Understanding / interest in research methodologies including quantitative & qualitative data

    What will be your key responsibilities?

    • Check, analyze and report on data to the business. Ensure on time and accurate delivery of data supply driving insights that deliver actionable outputs.
    • Responsibility for the deployment of local reports and all local administration of reports (eg. access, SKU accuracy) to drive quality data integrity; and ensuring appropriate data access to broader unit
    • Work collaboratively with category, activations, portfolio and DCom customer manger associates to understand their information and insights needs and establish reports (with data suppliers) to address them fully.

    Product, Process and Packaging Implementation Technologist (1 Year Contract)

    Job Overview

    This role is expected to provide product, packaging and process technical support to Operations:

    • execute complex problem solving
    • support building basic problem solving capability in Operations – main scope: process failures linked to process deviations, raw material and packaging issues

    The role will be key in completing Recipe changes on RADAR and updating Bill of Materials on SAP.

    The role will support Business Continuity and Renovation changes and lead factory trials.

    What are we looking for?

    • Food Science Degree/Food Technology Degree/Chemical Engineering or equivalent
    • 1 to 3 years experience in similar or related roles in the Food industry (Quality, Food Safety, Engineering or Product/Process development)
    • Understanding of Food manufacturing processes
    • Good understanding of Food chemistry
    • Project Management Capabilities & Experience
    • Intermediate to advanced understanding of statistical analysis, numerical modelling, and data analysis, preferably Lean, TPM and Six Sigma experience

    • Lead and participate in several projects

    R&D Product Development Intern (12 - Month Contract)

    Job Overview

    ​ It is the responsibility of the jobholder to Support the Innovation team with activities within the Innovation, Renovation and Raw Material Risk assessments and Specification work streams. This includes translating product development recipes into prototypes and sensory panel support. The job holder is required to support Quality & Food Safety work streams pertaining to the R&D Kitchen as well as administrative support on managing and maintaining Raw material specifications and risk assessments. The job holder works closely with site Product Development Technologist, Raw materials Buyer and Raw material Technologist.

    What are we looking for?

    • Science based degree (i.e. Food Technology, Consumer Science, Food Science or Related Science Degree)
    • Minimum of 1-year relevant industry experience is preferred.
    • Understanding of food sciences, consumer science, packaging, Food Law, Food processing and production knowledge is preferred.
    • Ideally a good knowledge of HACCP, Food/Raw material Microbiology, Chemical (relating to food safety) and Physical Hazards.
    • A passion for cooking and exploring is essential.
    • Computer literacy is essential.
    • Demonstrated understanding of key scientific principles associated with food & raw materials .
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within multiple teams, in a fast-paced environment is essential.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

    What will be your key responsibilities?

    • Supporting Innovation or Renovation projects by playing an active role in execution of product development work and exploring options to make meaningful improvements to Mars products.
    • Supporting the Innovation team in preparation and execution of taste panels/sensory evaluations as well as data analysis of sensory results.  This includes weighing recipes and cooking preparation work.
    • Conduct Competitor Product Reviews
    • Participate in setting up and evaluating shelf life studies.
    • Following good housekeeping and hygiene practices in the R&D Kitchen
    • Adhering to all Mars Safety Standards and participating in prevention through Near Miss Reporting.
