    Tractor Technician - Wesselsbron

    Responsibilities: 

    • Perform electronical and mechanical diagnostic tests on tractors to identify faults and issues.
    • Repair or replace faulty parts, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic systems.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including changing oil, filters, and belts, lubricating parts, and adjusting engine components.
    • Performs additional duties and special projects as needed or directed
    • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities performed on each tractor.
    • Communicate with customers to explain repairs and maintenance required on their equipment.
    • Provide recommendations for regular maintenance and inspections to prevent future breakdowns and how to operate tractors safely and effectively.
    • Provide guidance on how to identify and respond to potential problems.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned:
    • Assist with other tasks such as inventory management, cleaning and organising the workshop, and training new technicians.
    • Attend training sessions and workshops to stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends.

    Requirements

    • Completed Trade Test Certificate (Tractor, Motor or Diesel)
    • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with tractors or agricultural equipment.
    • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in tractors.

    Machine Shop Supervisor (Falcon)

    PRODUCTION:

    Planning:

    • Establish priorities.
    • Schedule and assign work to the most suitable staff to complete the job as quickly as possible.
    • This must be done in an efficient, safe and motivated environment.
    • Plan your own time and time of others. Planning must always meet all customer expectations.

    Organising:

    • Ensuring all raw materials, consumables and safety equipment are readily available, prepared and ready for production.

    Controlling output / results:

    • Measuring output of each person's productivity and managing exception in the form off corrective action.
    • Always enforcing the quality standard of the organisation.
    • Utilisation of all resources (staff and equipment) to the maximum always.
    • Listening to and resolve staff issues to minimise any down time.

    Inventory control:

    • Utilise raw material efficiently and reducing off cuts and scrap.
    • Conducting 2 stock takes with minimum variances.
    • Order raw materials JIT and not to carry unnecessary stocks.
    • Ensure stock levels are always within the minimum and maximum quantity levels and not to be in an out-of-stock situation.

    HEALTH AND SAFETY:

    • Monitor and ensure work environment is safe for staff at all times.
    • Attend safety meeting regularly.
    • Fill out all relevant safety / check lists document timeously.
    • Ensure that all staff are using their proper safety equipment at all times.
    • Ensure your area meets all organisational rules in terms of legal obligation.

    PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

    Leading staff:

    • Creating an environment where staff are motivated and performing at their best at all times.
    • Maintaining staff by using identified training opportunities.

    Disciplinary:

    • Take corrective / disciplinary action against staff who do not follow the rules of the organisation.

    MAINTENANCE AND HOUSEHOLD:

    • Ensure all equipment is maintained timeously and evaluated on ongoing basis for replacement.
    • Always ensure a preventative maintenance plan is place for all you’re the equipment in your area in line with the maintenance department.
    • Ensure spare parts for machines in your area are kept in stock for wearing parts and longer lead time breakdown items again in line with the maintenance department.
    • Ensure all work stations, surrounding areas and area of responsibility is kept neat and tidy at all times.

    QUALITY ASSURANCE:

    ISO:

    • Ensure we are working to our prescribed ISO standards at all times.
    • Ensure all work instruction and work procedures are being adhered to.
    • Ensure all risk assessment are done, up to date and all new staff are inducted accordingly.

    Continuous improvement:

    • Continually revisit and study production processes in your area and come up with new and improved ways of doing things using new technology and implementing the cost reduction processes.
    • Document this improvement and saving for your area.

    ADMINISTRATION:

    • Ensure all relevant paperwork is done accurately, captured timeously or handed in accordingly.
    • Generating of internal and purchase order requisition timeously.
    • Capturing of all training done in your area consistently.

    Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate and past trade test (Turner)
    • At least 5 years’ experience working in a production environment and additional 3 years working as a supervisor or in a leadership position.

    Office Administrator (Properties)

    Responsibilities:

    Effective handling of telecommunication:

    • Efficiently manage and route internal and external telephone calls, ensuring messages are communicated accurately and promptly.
    • Maintain a clear system for logging and following up on external enquiries or concerns.
    • Monitor and manage the phone system to ensure calls are handled efficiently, including troubleshooting technical issues when needed.

    Responsible for administrative duties:

    • Provide high-level administrative support to the Group Executive: EPA and other managers, including managing schedules, meetings, and appointments.
    • Organise and coordinate logistics for staff, including transport arrangements and travel itineraries.
    • Manage the supply of office spaces, meeting rooms, and the boardroom, ensuring they are well-stocked and maintained.
    • Ensure refreshments are available for the Group Executive: EPA, senior management, and visiting clients.

    Issuing of new business, underwriting and updating of policies.

    • Distribute received requests for new business & general amendments.

    • Issuing of quotes as per insurer’s mandate (determine rates/premiums).

    General administration.

    • Issuing of credit note/debit note/ request for EFT.
    • Send correspondence regarding outstanding annual premiums/pro rata premiums.
    • Cancellation of policies/endorsements when payment of outstanding annual premiums/pro rata premiums are not received.
    • Send credit note, etc. to finance department.
    • Send notification of unmet premium to client/broker/assistants.
    • Receive correspondence regarding cash payments.
    • Send notification of cash payment to finance department for processing
    • Handling of enquiries.
    • Do ad hoc functions as required, and filing of all relevant documentation.

    Requirements

    • Experience:  2 years' experience in a short-term insurance environment
    • Qualification: National Senior Certificate. Candidates with FAIS, RE5 or relevant insurance qualification will receive preference.
