    New Business Portfolio Business Development Manager - Parktown

    Key Responsibilities

    Marketing/New business

    • Build and Maintain relationships with new broker market and maintain existing broker relationships.
    • Identify new business opportunities through the development and maintenance of a broker visibility/ visitation programme.
    • Have a clear understanding of our products at all times and any changes to same and communicating these to assigned brokers.
    • With regard to market intelligence, maintain a sound knowledge of underwriting, claims and credit control principles in the industry. Be aware of trends that would impact and influence product design, production and product profitability.
    • Contribute to effective marketing of the Company products by answering questions, resolving problems on topics such as policy status, billing, etc, and explaining new or revised products and processes.
    • Presentations to brokers and/or agents.
    • Regularly attend broker related events to promote and market the Hollard Engineering division.
    • Meet goals with regards to Gross Written Premium and required loss ratios in terms of new business quoted and written within company guidelines.
    • Provide timely and professional customer service to stakeholders.
    • Decision Making: To make recommendations and take decisions on Technical or Complex Underwriting issues.
    • Coaching and support: Providing informal and formal coaching support to team. Ensure that IDP’s are in place and reviewed yearly.

    Underwriting

    • Complete and send quotes to assigned brokers in a timely manner.
    • Underwrite and analyse the risk provided through qualitative and quantitative data prepared by brokers. Recommending creative alternatives with regard to rating plans, cover provided and payment options.
    • Technical Expertise: In depth knowledge and Experience on the fundamentals of the Construction and Engineering Business.
    • Reinsurance: Treaty and Facultative placing, negotiate, monitoring and compliance Local and International.
    • Conduct surveys on various risks.
    • Review profitability, growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans to produce profitable underwriting results.
    • Regularly discuss and communicate trends and discuss underwriting criteria in terms of your portfolio of clients/ brokers.
    • Complete Renewal Reviews to ensure continued profitable growth business and discuss same with brokers as required.
    • Have a good understanding of Sasria SOC Limited cover, processes, and requirements in order to make sure that the correct Sasria rates are charged and that the relative Coupons are issued correctly and in accordance with Sasria Regulations.

    Required Knowledge and Experience

    • 10 years’ experience (Including managerial) with in-depth knowledge and understanding of Construction and Engineering Insurance.
    • Product knowledge
    • Underwriting procedure
    • Rating principles
    • Market knowledge (including competitors)
    • SASRIA
    • Claims procedure, credit control.
    • Reinsurance market and reinsurance treaties
    • Self-management Skills, Strategic thinker
    • Business management skills
    • Negotiation skills (internal and external)

    Educational Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years insurance experience (Construction & Engineering) including:
    • Minimum of a BCom Degree or similar insurance qualification
    • An engineering qualification would be highly advantageous.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skill and ability, especially with regard to Excel and Word
    • FAIS and Regulatory Exam compliant with at least an NQF 4 insurance certificate
    • Own transport with driver’s licence

    Talent Assessments Specialist/Psychometrist - Parktown

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Psychometric Assessment: Administer assessments, write integrated competency-based reports based on candidates' and employees' cognitive abilities, personality traits, and skills and provide feedback on results to stakeholders while adhering to Hollard’s Recruitment and Assessment policy, HPCSA guidelines, and legislative requirements
    • Support HRBPs through upskilling, providing information, assist with queries, and upskilling of line managers where needed
    • Serve as contact person with external Provider
    • Review monthly reports and share with HR community as well as addressing areas of concern where needed
    • Provide expert advice on internal talent development assessment and how to make development feedback meaningful
    • Provide recommendations and insights on talent development, including career pathing, training, and coaching for employees.
    • Data Analysis: Analyze assessment data and provide insights to the HC team, managers, and leadership to inform talent management decisions.
    • Individual and Group Assessment: Conduct individual and group assessments for talent selection, development, and succession planning.
    • End-to-End Oversight: Manage the entire assessment process, incorporating innovative approaches, continuous improvement, and best practices. Enhance the candidate and employee experience while delivering organizational value.
    • Compliance: Ensure all assessment processes adhere to legal and ethical standards, including data privacy and equal opportunity regulations.
    • Psychometric Tools: Stay updated on the latest psychometric assessment tools, trends, and best practices to enhance the company's talent management strategies.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with HC Advisors, Talent Acquisition, and Learning and Development teams to support the integration of assessment results into talent initiatives. Embrace innovative, agile techniques, new technologies, and emerging trends.
    • Candidate and Employee Support: Offer guidance and support to candidates and employees undergoing assessments, addressing questions and concerns.
    • Report Documentation: Maintain thorough records of assessments and recommendations for audit and compliance purposes.
    • Expert Guidance: Provide expert advice on assessment techniques, including the adoption of cutting-edge tools, integrated solutions, technologies, and data analytics. Improve talent selection outcomes and adapt to evolving business needs.

    Required Knowledge and Experience

    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Psychometrist in a corporate or consulting environment.
    • Proven experience in administering and interpreting psychometric assessments, including Cognitive Process Profile (CPP)
    • Proven experience in stakeholder management and consultation
    • Strong knowledge of assessment methodologies, best practices, and emerging trends in talent assessment and management
    • Familiarity with talent management and human capital practices, specifically within the South African Insurance Industry, is a plus
    • Experience in designing and managing a Psychometric Assessment framework
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Psychometrist in a corporate or consulting environment for career guidance, recruitment, development and / or similar
    • Proven experience in administering and interpreting psychometric assessments.
    • Familiarity with talent management and human resources practices, specifically within the South African Insurance Industry, is a plus

    Required Skills

    • Registered Industrial Psychologist with HPCSA , Society of Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa (SIOPSA) membership, PAI membership
